Khiladi 786 Has Disappointing Day One

Khildi 786 is set to have a disappointing day one. The film was never likely to have a huge first day but the early first day figures are set to be well below the mark. A Talaash sort of opening or 5-10% less would have been okay but the early figures coming in from Delhi/UP, East Punjab and Rajasthan suggest that even a 10 crore nett total is not on the cards.
The figures from other circuits may surprise but its unlikely as if an Akshay Kumar starrer is weak in Delhi and East Punjab where his starrers are normally so strong then other places will find it tough going.
A likely scenario is a first day total between 8-9 crore nett and if night shows are strong it may add another 25 lakhs odd to the total.
Whatever the total it is simply shocking that an Akshay Kumar mass entertainer has collected less than a film like Jism 2 in Delhi/UP and East Punjab on day one. These sort of opening numbers in key circuits means the film needs a miraculous jump over the weekend.

SRK and his starpower is immortal at BO u see. His last few movies did 100cr only because of him. Every other star has to depend on the quality of their films to reach 100cr mark but srk’s movies does that irrespective of the quality/genre.
The unconditional love and support that he enjoys from his fans puts him in altogether different league and so akshay cant be compared to him. #facepalm

no one asked srk not to do 3 films an year. infact doing one film has an advantage as it adds to curiosity factor. he had his best bet in jthj and a relatively smaller star like ajay showed him his aukaat. Babaji, Check BOI earnings chart for both JTHJ & SOS (1st week), they mentioned 1800 and 1500 cinemas respectively, If I am not mistaken. That page is removed as they update the chart weekly, and I am unable to find any archives, but there is no doubt about the mentioned no. of screens. So there was merely 16-17% screen difference.
And recheck the BO data with both eyes open, then tell me who showed the ‘aukaat’ to whom.

Khiladi 786 Opens Below The Mark Talaash Has Good First Week
Khiladi 786 opened below the mark with a good response only at single screens of some circuits (UP and Bihar mainly). Multiplexes were average in some circuits but low at many places. Today a 40 crore nett weekend is par for major films but looking at early figures of Khiladi 786 in key markets this film may not even get a 30 crore nett weekend.
Talaash had a good first week of 62.50 crore nett approx due to a good pick up over the weekend. The film had a decent Monday but collections started coming down fast from the next day onwards. There has been another major drop on the eighth day.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan has taken its three week total to 102 crore nett approx. HIT
Son Of Sardaar has taken its three week total to 88 crore nett. HIT

There is a limit for OTT n crap action and even in todays time had salman starred in K786 with such pathetic stunts it would have flopped right away… Singham – was very good movie n had trended well only due to good wom… I failed to understand the success of BG n Bol Bachan (havent seen yet) n how audience liked such pathetic movies… They too deserved Epic Failures…
Khiladi 786 First Day Business
Khiladi 786 was below the mark on day one collecting around 8.75 crore nett on day one. The film did well in pockets but overall collections were below the mark. The film was totally let down by Delhi and East Punjab as these areas did awful business. East Punjab at around 62 lakhs is like a washout for such a film and Delhi/UP at 1.6 crore is also very bad despite UP cities having fair collections.
Bihar did good business due to a massive release while CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan and Gujarat also put up decent numbers while other areas were poor. Mumbai circuit outside Gujarat and Saurashtra was very low.
With such a low number on such a wide release there is huge potential to grow on Saturday but it will have to show some big growth to even go over the 30 crore nett mark for the weekend and even if somehow it reaches 30 crore its still not a good figure.

It seems that people don’t want to watch Masala movies any more. If Dabang2 failed to collect more than 125 crore at Indian B.O. Then we can definitely say that some biggie like Salman Khan / Ajay Devgn / Akshay kumar have to change the track. Iin this case Ajay Devgn is lucky because his upcoming movies are something different like Himmatwala & Satyagraha then Gangajal2 & Singham2 may succeed more than others because these films are more realistic then others and the 2nd part will be with fresh script.

You have no data from boi on the number of screens for sos-jthj. If akshay is in the best phase of his career,then how k786 and joker flopped? Khiladi 786 Has Growth On Saturday

Khiladi 786 managed to grow around 10% on Saturday as compared to Friday. The collections on Saturday will be in the 9.25-9.50 crore nett range adding to the 8.50 crore nett on Friday giving it a two day total of 17 crore nett approx.
The growth is mainly due to the fact that collections in Delhi/UP, East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore were very low on Friday and all these circuits have added in the 10-30% range on Saturday. The central belt of CPCI Rajasthan along with Bihar is seeing the best business and collections held well in these areas on Saturday.
Although the film has managed growth on Saturday it is still a limited upturn especially considering low collections on day one and even a 30 crore nett weekend does not look forthcoming unless Sunday somehow manages phenomenal growth.

Khiladi 786 Grows On Sunday But Below Average Weekend

Khiladi 786 managed to show good growth on Sunday of around 20% but the weekend business remained below average with collections around the 29.25 crore nett range. The daily breakdowns were 8.50 crore nett of Friday, 9.25 crore nett on Saturday and 11.25-11.50 crore nett on Sunday.
The film has done well in Bihar, CPCI and Rajasthan, average in Gujarat and Nizam while the rest of India has seen poor collections. North India has performed terribly with collections in the range of smaller films like Heroine, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum and Jism 2.
The film should hold up in Bihar, CPCI and Rajasthan on Monday but just these markets performing can’t take a film far.
Khiladi 786 will need a minimum 6 crore Monday to come out with a respectable lifetime total, if the film has the normal Monday drop it will not be going anywhere as far as lifetime business is concerned.

Khiladi 786 Steady But Low On Monday

Khiladi 786 had a low Monday of around 4.75-5 crore nett but collections were steady as compared to Friday The collections are around 45% lower than Friday which is better than normal for a Monday but the film had a low Friday.
The four day total of the film is 34 crore nett approx and the first week should collect in the 45 crore nett region. The opening of the film really killed the film’s potential at the box office.
The film is unlikely to match the expectations even in some of its good areas. Gujarat which is one of the better circuits for the film fetched around 7 crore for the film just before release and the first week share is looking 3.5 crore at best which will eventually lead to a 30-35% loss for the distributors.

BOI always gives lower numbers finally. but the extent to which they reduce the nos for akshay/srk films have been always lower.I am sure you remember their reporting of KI. first time in jthj, they reduced an srk film by 10 cr and some srk fans became anti-boi.

Khiladi 786 was steady on Tuesday with business of around 4.25 crore nett. As mass pockets and single screens tend to hold up better on weekdays than metro multiplexes and Khiladi 786 is doing its best business outside metro multiplexes, it is showing good trending on weekdays.
The five day business stands at 38.25 crore nett approx and the next two days should add around 7 crore nett. The film should have a decent second week but third week will see hardly any business as the juggernaut Dabangg 2 will corner most of the single screens.
The film is looking at an approx 60 crore nett lifetime total and if it manages some business after the release of Dabangg 2 it could do a little bit more. Lifetime business in the range of films like Kahaani and Student Of The Year is nowhere near the desired results of Khiladi 786.

Khiladi 786 had a 45 crore first week as weekdays were steady on medium to low collections. Even though weekdays were steady a 45 crore total is not much higher than what the film should have collected over three days and here it has taken seven days.
This Friday being an open week has come to the aid of the film and the film may emerge an average fair. The film has recorded good numbers in Bihar, CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan and is a hit in these circuits but other circuits have seen dull business.
The performance of the film is very similar to Salman Khan’s Veer released a few years back which was also a hit in the above mentioned circuits but flopped in the bigger circuits of Mumbai and North.

Khiladi 786 grossed 2.50 crore nett approx on its second Friday. The business on the second Friday is similar to what Talaash grossed on its second Friday last week so even though Khiladi 786 had a much lower first week than Talaash it has caught it on the second Friday.
The difference is that this week is an open week while Talaash had competition in the form of Khiladi 786 in its second week.
The weekend should see good jumps especially on Sunday and it should collect around the 11 crore nett mark in its second weekend. But despite the fairly steady second weekend the overall business will still not be that good.

Khiladi 786 was steady over its second weekend collecting in the 10.50 crore nett range. The drop from first weekend was around 65% which is better than the norm today.
The release of no major film helped the film but still overall collections are not impressive as the opening weekend was not upto the mark. Bihar, CI and Rajasthan are the stand out performers.
Khiladi 786 will be out of most theatres on Friday as Dabangg 2 release but should be able to cross the 60 crore nett mark and finish with a 33 lifetime distributor share. Overall the film is an average fare.

Khiladi 786 collected 16.50 crore nett approx in week two which is a drop of 63% from week one. The second week has seen steady business at multiplexes and single screens but the damage was done in week one when the film could not collect well.
The two week total for the film is 61.50 crore nett and has gone into the third week with very limited screenings so it will not be adding much more to its business.
A 3.25 crore lifetime share in Rajasthan and 1.50 crore share in Bihar are the stand out performers for the film while Delhi/UP and East Punjab with 6.75 and 2.50 crore have hugely underperformed.
