Ghanchakkar Has Average Opening

Ghanchakkar had an average opening at multiplexes with collections around the 30-40% mark but as has been seen over recent times with films that don’t get a good opening all it needs is a good showing period after 5pm and it comes out with a healthy first day.
The pick ups if they come are becoming more pronounced simply because of the volume of shows in the evening so if you do pickup you have more shows to collect from.
This will be the case with Ghanchakkar with film depending on evening collections on Friday and follow through growth on Saturday. The opening in East Punjab is low due to Jatt and Juliet 2 which has stormed that market but that should not make much difference as long as Ghanchakkar has good showing in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

B.O. update: ‘Ghanchakkar’ starts slow, evening shows hold key!

GHANCHAKKAR, which teams UTV, Rajkumar Gupta and Vidya Balan [after NO ONE KILLED JESSICA] and Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan [after THE DIRTY PICTURE] had a lackluster start in morning and noon shows. While the multiplexes were slightly better, but overall below the mark, the response at single screens was poor. Now this comes as a surprise, since Emraan enjoys tremendous following amongst masses and the mass belt should’ve opened to a heartening response.
The business will have to multiply rapidly in evening and night shows, if it has to sustain at the BO.

Ghanchakkar had an average first day of around 6.50-6.75 crore nett. The film to opened to an average response and business had the normal evening uptick. If the film can show good Saturday growth can come out with a good weekend. The first day business from some circuits is as follows.

Ghanchakkar was flat on day two with similar business to day one. The first day collected 6.50 crore nett approx and day two should come in at 6.50 crore also taking the two day business to 13 crore nett. The second day business from some circuits is as follows with day one in brackets.

Ghanchakkar Weekend Business

Ghanchakkar had average business in its first weekend of around 19.50-20 crore nett. The numbers are not great but not that bad either but problem is the weekend trend with no growth on Saturday and limited growth on Saturday.
The business of the film is best in the North with Delhi/UP clocking up around 4.50 crore nett and even East Punjab did decent collecting around 2 crore nett which is comparatively is better than most of the other circuits despite the release of mega blockbuster Jatt and Juliet 2.
Mumbai circuit will be around 6.75 crore nett while Rajasthan collected a poor 1.05 crore nett. The performance of the film is much better than the Emraan Hashmi film Shanghai which was released in this same period last year.

Hope Vidya doesnt waste too much time on stuff like this and Shaadi ke after effects …

Ghanchakkar fell around 60% on Monday with collections around 2.50 crore nett approx. The four day total is around 22.50 crore nett and the week will finish at around 28 crore nett. The approx daily business for the first four days is as follows.
Friday – 6.50 crore nett
Saturday – 6.25 crore nett
Sunday – 7.25 crore nett
Monday – 2.50 crore nett
