Wankhede brawl: Child Rights panel to hear plaint against SRK

Three months after he scuffled with MCA and police officials at Wankhede stadium after an IPL match, the Maharashtra Commission for Protection of Child Rights will hear a complaint against actor Shahrukh Khan for “corrupting” the minds of children with “filthy abuses in public.”

The Commission has sent a notice to the complainant and Marine Drive police station to be present on August 16 for the hearing.
Complainant Amit Maru, through his lawyer Y P Singh, had approached the Commission saying seven cognizable offences were made against Khan and sought a direction to the police to register an FIR against the actor.

“If Maru or the police officials are not present, then hearing will take place ex-parte,” said the notice signed by Commission’s under secretary S S Supe sent yesterday.

Maru will have to explain how offences could be made out against Khan before the Commission proceeds further.

“Shahrukh Khan, an enormous celebrity, who the people of India, particularly children, emulate and follow, has harmed the future of our nation by corrupting minds of children by uttering filthy and dirty abuses in public,” Maru has said in his complaint.

Maru said children were trying to emulate the actor and uttering the same abuses.

He listed seven alleged offences committed by Khan, including hurling abuses in public before children under his own care, misbehaving in a drunken state at a public place, indecent behaviour, threatening to bury a living person, imputing unchastity to a woman and unlawful assembly.

On May 16, an allegedly drunk Khan was involved in a brawl with security personnel and Maharashtra Cricket Association officials at the Wankhede Stadium after his team Kolkata Knight Rider’s victory over Mumbai Indians.

The Mumbai Police had registered a non-cognizable offence against him under various sections of IPC on the basis of a written complaint by MCA officials.

The MCA had also imposed a 5-year ban on the actor for his conduct.

WTF is this? Why don’t these panels sit against promos of certain films with bloody double meaning jokes that airs on TV? Few years back it was Salman (still the main candidate), now their target is Srk. Bloody hypocrites…

They need their 15 minutes of fame.

      LOL

Even if he abused in public shouldn’t the case be made against the TV channels who showed the clippings of him abusing? And even they must have beeped it out so how can the children watch those clippings and learn the abuses?
