The King Review by Sputnik

Wayward Prince Hal must turn from carouser to warrior king as he faces hostilities from inside and outside the castle walls in the battle for England.

The movie is based on Shakespeare’s collection of plays “Henriad”. The movie is very engrossing and doesn’t bore a bit. The movie is about a reluctant King who doesn’t want any wars but is still forced into a war. The war scenes are very well shot.

Timothée Chalamet is excellent as King Henry V. I think he will be nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars. Joel Edgerton is excellent as Falstaff. Robert Pattinson is excellent as The Dauphin. Sean Harris is very good as William Gascoigne. Lily-Rose Depp is good as Catherine in a small role. The rest of the cast is good too.

Screenplay by Michôd and Joel Edgerton is very good. Direction by Michôd is very good. The King is a very good period film.

Highly Recommended
