Golmaal Returns story is copied from the 1973 movie Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar starring Kiran Kumar. It is a timepass flick, a movie where you have to leave your brains behind. Kareena Kapoor is a suspicious wife who watches saas bahu serials. Ajay Devgan saves Celina Jaitley from goons and has to spend the night with her on a yacht . He lies to his wife that he was with his friend Anthony Gonsalves. He asks Shreyas Talpade to act as Anthony Gonsalves and it turns out there is a real Anthony Gonsalves at the same address that Ajay gives to Kareena. Arshad Warsi is a cop who is investigating a murder and he suspects Ajay to be the killer. The whole movie revolves around this.

Ajay Devgan is a misfit in this movie. He cant do comedy. Arshad Warsi is hilarious specially in the Black movie spoof scene. Shreyas Talpade is wasted. Tusshar Kapoor is hilarious in some scenes and irritating in some with the Ooo Aaah. Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora and Celina Jaitley dont get much scope but they perform creditably.

The movie is truly hilarious in some scenes especially where movies or actors are being ridiculed. The director should have made the whole movie with spoofs and potshots at other movies and actors. Instead there is some slapstick and some silly fight sequences. The last few minutes of the movie are extremely hilarious. All in all only 30 minutes of this movie is really funny.

If you are willing to put up with two hours of silly comedy for thirty minutes of fun then you can watch it or else just wait for the dvd to come out.
