Ek Tha Tiger Takes Box Office Collections To A New High

Ek Tha Tiger has taken opening box office collections to a new high as it has collected 31-32 crore nett as per early estimates. Its a 40% jump from the previous record which was 22 crore nett approx set by Agneepath earlier this year.

Ek Tha Tiger has shattered records all over by recording capacity or near capacity houses all over on the widest release ever.

Mumbai will come in over 10 crore for the first time. CP Berar, Rajasthan and Nizam have all crossed the 1.50 crore barrier for the first time, it was only last year that these circuits crossed the 1 crore mark for opening day with Bodyguard. Mysore may also make it to the 1.50 crore mark.

The opening again proves that the action genre with a superstar on a big national holiday is unbeatable at the box office. When these three lethal combinations have come together it has proved to be record breaking over the last few years.

31-32 Cr Nett? Wow amazing collections and that too during Ramzan when Salman’s supposed core fan base is supposedly avoiding movies.

Congratulations to all the Salman fans. I think this removes any doubt whatsoever as to who the No 1 star today is. I have been told that news channels were showing that cops were being called to control the crazy crowds – in an age where there are so many shows at so many multiplexes.

I seriously doubt that SRK was offered this movie. But if he was then this adds one more to the list of blockbusters that SRK has recently rejected. As the famous quote from AAA goes “Haath ko aaya par mooh na laga” 😉

Only Salman khan can do this. Breaking the record with such a big margin.

I bet no other film can do first day business of 32 crore this year including Dabang 2 (obvious reason non holiday release) but also doubtful any one can close to on any given day this year including Dabang2… This is just Awesome. Historic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These seem like rough estimates. The producer no is 32.9 cr. So actual well be less than that. But it is a great opening day.And it might retain the record for this year.if srk had a OSO like deal this year,he cud hv challenged but with a yrf romance,i am not hopeful.Next year i expect dhoom 3 and krrish to gross around 40 cr day 1.

33 cr Opening day is fantastic, beats the Agneepath record by a margin of 10 cr! Salman Khan has been going from strength to strength since Dabangg and very happy for him. Dabangg 2 will surely open very well too.

    Un-FUCKING-Belivable!

    *Dumbstruck*

    1st Day Territorial Breakdown – 31.25cr.

Agar Ramzan na hota and Several ‘Bandhs’ na hote toh, even 33-35cr in a Single Day was Possible.

Now this is the Highest Opening Ever(Beating Agneepath) & Biggest Day Ever(Beating RA.One) both by a Huge Margin.
