OMG! Oh My God has emerged a hit with Monday collections being better than Friday. The early estimates for Monday business is around 4.50 crore nett. Although Friday was low it is still rare for a film to come out with better collections on Monday than Friday.
There have been films like Kahaani and Vicky Donor which opened low and then then gained momentum but even they did not have a better Monday than Friday. The collections are just 30% lower than Sunday when the the norm is 50% even for big hits. The Monday business was aided by strong collections in the evening as next day is a holiday. Although it looked the cricket match had a limited affect as the film jumped managed a 25% jump on Sunday, the Monday figures suggest, Sunday could have gone to 8-8.50 crore nett were it not for the match.
The film has collected around 21 crore nett in four days and is sure to go over 30 crore nett for the week. It could even go to around 33 crore nett depending on how well it does on Tuesday which is a holiday.
The lifetime business of the film can go anywhere, 50 crore is probably a certainty now and remains to be seen how far it can go.

If reports are to be believed, then Peekay was also about Godmen. There was a news that Peekay shooting is delayed by 2 months. There could be similarities in story-lines in OMG and PK. Maybe Hirani has to rework some portions.
He had to cancel Munnabhai 3 because of MNIK (as there were similarities – a guy travelling across a country and meeting the US president).
Yah PK is on godmen.. It’s is postponed by 2 months cos Talaash was postponed n so was D3 by 2 months.. Hence the postponement of PK and not cos of any similarity..

OMG! Oh My God Has Excellent Eighth Day
OMG! Oh My God was excellent on its 8th day as it showed no drop from the previous day with many multiplexes recording better numbers than Thursday. The film collected around 2.75-3 crore nett on Friday which is just 30% lower than its first day albeit a low first day.
The film will be one of those rare films today that will show a less than 50% fall week on week. The only other wide release to have a 50% week on week fall this year was Housefull 2. The film easily beat the new releases English Vinglish and Kismet Love Paisa Dilli on its eight day.
The film has lost around 1 crore nett business in East Punjab circuit in the first week as it is not playing at many centres.

OMG! Oh My God has emerged a super hit film as it recorded excellent collections in week three of around 13 crore nett taking its ten day total to 49 crore nett approx.
The drop in the second weekend is just 30% from the first weekend which is rare even for films that don’t open too well. The film is on a phenomenal run in the Gujarat/Saurashtra belt and CI is also recording fantastic collections. The collections in West Bengal and South are low but still held up well in the second weekend. The film had a no show in major cities of Punjab in week two as well so collections in East Punjab remain on the lower side.
OMG! Oh My God may do a 19-20 crore nett second week and cross the 65 crore nett mark for lifetime business. The all India distributors paid huge prices for a film of its genre, possibly as Akshay Kumar was there and the prices looked unrecoverable when the film opened but its a totally different story now.
