Assault case filed against Saif Ali Khan

A case of assault under section 325 IPC (causing grievous hurt) has been registered against actor Saif Ali Khan in Mumbai.

The actor allegedly punched a man on the nose at the Taj’s Wasabi restaurant in Colaba last night.

The man who filed the complaint, Iqbal S from Juhu, was dining with his family at an adjoining table.

Iqbal, in his complaint, has alleged that he requested Saif Ali Khan to lower his voice as the noise was disturbing them. He claims that Saif Ali Khan told him to go to a library to get peace.

An altercation broke between them and two of Saif’s associates allegedly assaulted Iqbal, who has sustained a fracture on his nose.

In 2008, a case was filed against the actor for allegedly assaulting a photojournalist in Patiala during a film shoot.

No arrests were made in the case and a compromise was worked out when Saif apologised later.

Saif Ali Khan’s home production Agent Vinod is due to release on March 23 and features real-life girlfriend Kareena Kapoor in the lead with him.

‘Actor Saif Ali Khan was arrested on Wednesday after a NRI guest at Wasabi restaurant in Taj Hotel registered a case of assault against the actor. He was immediately granted a bail and released.

This is what the actor has to say about the incident…

“There was an ugly incident last night where my friends and the ladies with us were abused and I was assaulted.

I was hit and I defended myself. I have been to the police station to answer the requirements of law as I am a law abiding citizen. I have also filed a complaint about what happened last night and I am confident justice will be done.

I have seen the interviews given on TV and they look like decent people and I cannot believe that the same people were so aggressive the night before and the lies that they are saying about me with such straight faces.

I think they have the CCTV footage in the restaurant that will prove everything.

I hope the media is able to remain impartial while the matter is being decided. I don’t think any gentleman would have behaved differently”

Saif Ali Khan gets into a fight… this time at Lucknow airport

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan on Thursday allegedlly got involved in a tiff with security personnel at Lucknow’s Chowdhary Charan Singh airport after he was asked to vacate the VIP lounge.

The 42-year-old actor, who was in the Lucknow to shoot for Tigmanshu Dhulia-directed ‘Bullet Raja’, was on his way to Delhi when he reached the Chaudhary Charan Singh airport and entered the VIP lounge, airport sources said.

A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel then informed Saif that only those who figured in a list authorised by the government could utilise the VIP lounge, and hence he should leave the place, they said.

On being told to vacate the lounge, an ugly row ensued with Saif allegedly refusing to leave.

“When the actor refused to move out and tried to throw around his weight, he was forcibly evicted from the lounge,” said an airport source.

The furious actor then created a scene, only to sober down when senior officials intervened.

After the tiff, he waited in the open area like any other traveller and left on a Jet Airways flight.

CISF commandant Gyanendra Kumar while confirming the incident didn’t say the actor had gotten involved in a tiff.

The commandant said the actor was asked to leave after airport officials brought it to their notice that he was an unauthorised occupant of the VIP lounge.

The administration as well as the airport security officials, meanwhile, have denied that there was any tiff between the actor and the staff.

The actor could not be reached for comments.
