Have watched The Trial of the Chicago 7, Hillbilly Elegy and Minari among the nominated movies.

I think Aaron Sorkin should have been nominated for Best Director too. I don’t remember anything great about its cinematography to deserve a nomination. I don’t think Sacha Baron Cohen deserves a nomination for Best Actor either.

Frank Langella and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II should both have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Deserving nomination for Glenn Close for Hillbilly Elegy. Had predicted it in my review “Glenn Close is excellent as Mamaw, J.D’s grandmother. She will definitely be nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress and should win too.” Link

Hillbilly Elegy deserves the nomination for Best Makeup and Hairstyling too.

Amy Adams should have been nominated for Best Actress. She has been robbed.

Minari is a good movie but I don’t think it deserves all those nominations. Youn Yuh-jung was excellent as the grandmother and deserved a nomination. I think the kid should have gotten the nomination instead of the father.
