Can’t tell if its a trailer of Dabangg 2 or deleted scenes from Dabanng. The trailer of Dabangg was excellent and the best trailer that year. Not impressed with this one.

Its a good trailer but if we compare it to Dabangg 1 then it gives a feel of let down cos Salman seriously seemed to njoy in the first part ! here it seems a bit forced but having said that it was salman’s one of the best performance of entire career so obviously its a hard thing to repeat. But nevertheless it wont matter one bit on its collections and in all likelihood will emerge a huge hit.

    CTR-C CTR-V ….nothing more.
What more to expect from Arbaaz? Anyways, they are just trying to cash in on Chulbul Pandey and I am sure it will set the cash registers ringing

The trailer is as expected, nothing new. BOwise, it’s already a blockbuster, so it’s useless to discuss. Contentwise, It will be as crappier as Ready, BG, ETT and RR. But the thing is that in the era, where movies like ZNMD, PST, Kahaani, VD, Barfi and EV gets tremendous appreciation from the audience, why can’t the same audience show this maturity by rejecting these Dabanggs, Bodyguards etc.
‘Dabangg 2’ having mass freindly genre, sequel of an earlier blockbuster, unprecedent star-power, huge buzz, everything is well-prepared giving nod to the arrival of the biggest potential blockbuster, I think this is the high time for the audience to show middlefinger to this mindless crappier masala genre.

ye i agreed all the so called masala movies are nothing bt jst crapers with mindless action and story… bt to be frank there is a certain genre of the audience in India who enjoys to the hilt such crapers… nd the most revenue for these films comes from such audience who flock to single screens to enjoy dis movie all shouting and seetis and taalis.. however classy the audience of india may become, at the end of the day, if such a film is shown to us (though forcibly), we enjoy it to the core but jst pretend for not liking the film… so i guess we must let the film makers make the films in wichever zone they are comfortable and we can watch any movie as per our taste…

“I think this is the high time for the audience to show middlefinger to this mindless crappier masala genre.”

@mate – what about age old crappy mindless glossy shallow pretentious romantic films? 😀

“@mate – what about age old crappy mindless glossy shallow pretentious romantic films?”

Ritz, Btw I love to watch old glossy shallow pretentious romantic films provided they’re not crappy mindless. 😉
Anyway If you would quote some movies as reference, I could answer accordingly. I don’t know which ‘mindless’ romantic films you are talking about. As far as I know this adjective ‘mindless’ is only be specific for masala genre. Now-a-days Masala genre in itself represents ‘mindless’ because You cannot question the movies nor you can look for any kind of logic. That’s the genre where the whole product is based on unreal deceptive idea.
If you ask me, I don’t think the Masala genre is synonym to ‘mindless action’ where male protagonist jumping from one train to another, fighting hundred of villains (in a ridiculous way), yet getting alive at the end. I don’t have enough insight into Manmohan Desai cinema, but I’m quite sure his brand of ‘masala’ is meant by using techniques to enhance the cinematic experience, rather than making fun of that, present it in a way that even though people knew this is mindless yet they don’t realize it’s mindless while watching it on screen. So all the music and dance, earthy dialogues, ingenuity, different techniques of describing the story, highly stylized nature and emphasis on spectacle, ‘glossyness and shallowness’ is a part of Masala cinema, and IMO far from being regrettable. So when I used the term ‘Masala’ don’t think Romantic genre is an exception, the difference is that the ‘mindless’ element have very less scope in latter which ruins the original ‘masala’ genre.
So, transformation of Suri into Raj (RNBDJ) or Jai (Saif) playing younger Veer (Rishi Kapoor) in LAK is neither crappy nor mindless but just a technique, a cinematic liberty, and it is as good as the characters and the execution of Slumdog Millionaire. So whether it’s an illusion or a fiction, be it romantic or action, it should be as believable as it can but it should not be realism, that is not my cup of tea. Personally, I prefer much more believable and entertaining i-e Romantic genre infinitely over ‘mindless crappier masala genre.’ 😛

          • Ritz 11 years ago

I agree on Masala genre but differ on Romantic. You have explained it in a good way here. But the romantic movies of YRF/KJO type are far from realistic and glossy and crap – according to me. 😀

There are some exceptions ofcourse . But then there are for action masala movies also.

          • Baba Ji 11 years ago

mate – the term masala is used synonymously with south masala (remakes) today. The hero will be invincible and the villain is nothing more than a comedian . herione is for songs . OTT action. cheesy dialogues and one rape scene.

Bw masala also has few cliches but i prefer it over the south remakes. the villian atleast is as strong as the lead if not more.

ye definitely the movie will open vry strongly and vl make records in the first wknd and wk.. bt thereafter content is wat matters.. hpe da movie has something entertaining to offer ….nd i guess it will have…
since dabangg 2 is a sequel to its prequel, that is why the movie bears too much resemblance to its previous part,.. the sets, the looks, the characterisation and almost evrthng looks similar and its goes to show that the movie is carrying forward the story from where it had left in the previous part… though it is a wise decision on the part of arbaaz khan to have the same look and feel of the previous film which will attract the viewers to throng the theatres, the real test will start when the film releases and thereafter the content will be the main hero…

Didnt like the trailer. Dabangg added something to salman’s resume – (not only BO wise) – but this one doesnt look like it will add anything. To start with. I didnt think Dabangg was having any potential for a sequel (even if i loved the movie and salman in it).
Its too early anyways….I will wait for further promos.
