Akshay to promote Once Upon… At Indo-Pak cricket match
In a unique way of promoting a film, the makers of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’ have planned to promote it during the Indo-Pak Champions Trophy match in the UK.
Currently, Akshay is holidaying with his family in New York and he will cut short his vacation for the match.
Akshay is known to be an ardent cricket lover in real life and his character (Shoaib) in the forthcoming film ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’ will be seen as a powerful don who wields the power to influence a cricket match.
The film, set in the 80s, will see Akshay essay the role of a cricket-loving gangster and the makers, keeping with the essence of the film and Akshay’s role, thought it was a great idea to promote the film during the match.
“As a company known for pushing the envelope on marketing, we will have our Shoaib attending the India-Pakistan match at Edgbaston. Cricket is a perfect fit with his character in the film, as evidenced in the film’s first trailer as well,” Balaji Motion Pictures CEO Tanuj Garg said in a statement here.
The film, directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, stars Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonali Bendre.
It is scheduled to release on August 15 (Independence Day).

The prequel had a gangster theme nd the sequel is hvng a love story which is nt digestable sync ppl were expctng it to b a hardcore action film…I hate the dialogue delivery of imran, sonakshi as usual in her regular avatar.. Akshay luks lyk a miscast fr dis role.. The reason is We still cant get frm the hangover of the role ajay playd wit perfection..he had a too big nd larger than lyf character role which is jst impossible to b played b a small time nd below average actor lyk akshay kumar…

Totally spot on, buddy.
After a horribly horrendous theatrical trailer, this will give a sigh of relief to Akki fans, not a good but a half decent Song and video, but the magic of OUATIM-I music is missing throughout. I seriously think Emraan Hashmi should reprise his role, as he was wonderful in Shoaib’s character. I don’t know what was Milan smoking while casting Akshay, though I don’t consider Hashmi in Actors’ category till yet, but in this particular role he had done justice and acted good within his limits, he also explored his acting abilities in Shanghai. But casting a non-actor in that role is totally inadequate. And If Milan decided it keeping BO perspective in mind, then he has taken the worst decision. Because both Akki and Emraan are of equal stature, both are B-grade stars though former has an edge, but one is a complete non-actor and the other can act a bit, also Emraan can open atleast this movie much bigger than what Akki can do. And it is evident from the trailers, and Milan will have to bear the consequences of the compromise he made apparently for BO success.

But I think these are just the tactics to grab some eyeballs. After the poor response they get on trailer, they tried every bit to use stardom of other stars/banners. First they cash the stardom of SRK by postponing the release date (It looks little odd how they will be befited from other movie by postponing release date), but even a regular cine-goer knows It is a well-known gimmick so that the movie will be discussed in the same frame as the other genuine biggie. And now they tried to cash the stardom of Hrithik by changing the title, so that people may think it to be a sequel or prequel of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Did anyone know whether Ritesh/Farhan demanded for the royalty, or they allowed them for free?

First of all, only Akki Sir fans can talk in such a logical way. I think the statement of syedimran that you pointed out is about number of Flops given by Akki Sir and not about Ghajini record. But for your kind information, Ghajini record had been broken by SRK long ago in the form of his ‘Huge Under Performer’ Ra.One. Infact It collected 120 cr exactly, but since Akki Sir fans are wise enough not to consider the collection of non-hindi version as a part of distributors’ earning, probably they think it to be some kind of refundable thing.

Ab app khud hee calculate kar lo Akki Sir k career ki sub se badi Blockbuster aur SRK ki FLop main kitne crore ka difference hai. Aur calculate karne k baad agar thoda sa bhi damaag baki bache to ap ko Akki Sir ki aukaat ka khud hee andaza ho jaye ga.
BTW Lifetime has nothing to do with starpower, since the weekend era started, a single day and weekend is
the guage to determine how big a star is, just like 5-6 years ago, weekly collections were considered in this regard and If you go 10-12 years back, lifetime collection was the parameter. Now-a-days, lifetime only shows the acceptance/ rejection of a movie. A big lifetime is more a triumph of the director and his team, and the leading actor is only the part of his team. Depite that, the importance of lifetime can’t be ruled out even in todays’ age, and is essential for the star’s goodwill. The big collection with a comparatively less verdict only shows the homongous status of a star, and that’s where your Akki Sir fails as a star as compared to Khans.
Now the case is dismissed (till the release of CE & OUATIMD), your petition to prove Akki Sir a Star has been rejected due to insufficient evidence. 😉

It seems you have got a wrong impression of me (or say we, members). All the comments posted by me are in a right spririt with no hard feelings dude. We do not have any grudge against any actor/actress. We are movie buffs here and watch all actors movies irrespective of our favs’ films. yes,We are fans of some actors and want to have their best. That’s it.. nothing more than that. All the comments posted are just for fun with no hatred against any movie/actor. But yes any abusive language against any actor/actress, person, religion, women, obscene lang must not be tolerated and you have the complete right to warn or ban the member.
Still You are the moderator and I welcome your decision against me/any members.
When a new trailer/song comes out there will be some comments praising/criticizing the trailer/song/stars which is fine but going on and on about the same thing and continuously mocking some stars and their fans is not right. Star fights are annoying to other members and looks bad for the site.
Will remove you from moderation in a week or so if you don’t make comments like that again. After removing from moderation if you repeat similar comments I am afraid I will have to ban you. And this is for everyone else too.

I don’t see any comment of mate after my warning. Even if somebody else does it first does not mean you can also do it. You will also find yourself in same moderation if you do it.
