Pranav_Mistry_SixthSense_Project1
I am enamored with the 21st century’s technological advances in consumer electronic products that we are addicted in today’s tech savvy world hence I always keep an update on latest gadgets, new technological advances in science, consumer electronic products and the likes. We may not be aware of  our Indian scientist’s and their achievements in Conglomerates such as Microsoft, IBM or Motorola or Intel but here is a guy I want you to know about (if not yet known or unaware of) an Indian who is the Master of Today’s Digital Technology & brainchild of future technology the “SIXTH SENSE”

Please watch this video and I guarantee you that you will be proud of him – A True Genius

I was not only happy but exultant to know Pranav Mistry as the head of Samsung’s Think Tank team in yesterday’s Samsung’s official launch of NOTE 3 at IFA Berlin. He has developed a watch known as Samsung Gear that works seemingly with Note 3 and I am sure that the air view technology, the shortcut multi windows, the new dragon drop box in Samsung’s latest gadgets are his innovations.

He is also associated with Microsoft’s Productivity future vision that is doing the rounds around the Global Web. In the past he has worked with Microsoft as UX researcher.

A short bio data of Pranav Mistry on his website

Nothing can be and can not be one and at the same time and I am. I am Pranav Mistry.

Currently, I am the Head of Think Tank Team and Director of Research of Samsung Research America. Before that I was a Research Assistant and PhD candidate at the MIT Media Lab. In past, I worked with Microsoft, Google, CMU, NASA, UNESCO, Japan Science & Technology to name a few. I received my Master in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT and Master of Design from IIT Bombay. I received my bachelors degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Oh, I also dropped out of Architecture School prior to that. Palanpur, a small town situated in northern Gujarat in India. is my hometown.

Exposure to fields like Design to Technology and from Art to Psychology gave me a quite nice/interesting viewpoint to the world. I love to see technology from design perspective and vice versa. This vision reflects in almost all of my projects and research work as well. in short, I do what I love and I love what I do. I am a ‘Desigineer’ 🙂

Good to see him go this far and hope he goes beyond this. We seriously need platforms like TEDtalk to find and promote many such Pranav Mistrys.

    @fearlesssoul,

Thanks for making this excellent post.

Because your post title had Samsung and Microsoft in it I thought it is some post about Samsung and Microsoft and did not read or check out the videos. My bad.

Recently my friend showed me a video and told me about the site TED.com. I was thinking of making a post with videos like this and then remembered that you had made some technology post. So I came here and I found out that one of the videos is from TED.

I am going to post interesting videos like this in this post and we can turn this into a post about new scientific discoveries or inventions. Please post more videos like this here. Others can post videos like this too.

The video of Arunachalam Muruganantham is inspiring too because he is helping the poor women and he hasn’t tried to just make money.

This 19-Year-Old is Building a Cheaper, Better Prosthetic Limb

Easton LaChappelle is only 19 years old, but the star of Uproxx’s new original series Luminaries is already doing bigger things with his life than many adults.

LaChappelle, from Colorado, taught himself robotics after meeting a 7-year-old girl at the state science fair who had a prosthetic arm that she told him cost $80,000. He’s refined his technique since he built his first prosthetic arm (with LEGOs, no less), combining 3D printing and open-source software to allow others to download and work with his designs.

“No one person can change the world,” LaChappelle says. “It takes multiple people, so if I can develop technology in a way so other people can take what I’ve done and grow from it and do something more with it, someone could take that and keep impacting someone else’s life and eventually try and rule out a lot of the bad in the world by giving back.”

I recently saw his video & was really impressed. He has done hell of a job combining his invention with 3D print technology & inventing something so affordable. I don’t know why he is not promoted by media

MIT cheetah robot lands the running jump
