The songs are in order of the movie release year. I know I left out a lot of great songs but others can post them here in comments.

Good post sputnik thou you have chosen the popular ones. By the way I always found udit better than him but one song where he really moved me was his “Shab ke jage hoay taaron ko bhi neend aaane lagi” from Tamanna which had excellent lyrics.
Tumhain apna banane ke kasam is a straight lift from Musarat Nazir’s Chilean tu kut he jae ga safar ahista ahista

what kind of a kumar sanu fan are you? you have chosen ab tere bin from aashiqui instead of saanso ki zarorat. aankh hai bhari bhari is a bad song. tu pasand hai kisi aur ki is better than dtph title.payalein jhummun is another below avg song. even taaren hai barati from the same film is far better. only the sajan songs are good from this list.

Had already posted Sanson Ki Zaroorat as Song of the Day last year.

So I chose Ab Tere Bin as the first song.

I like Aankh Hai Bhari Bhari and it is from a movie from the 2000s and I did not want all of the songs to be from the early 90s. I thought of removing the song at the last minute and having Tum Mile from Criminal instead.

I liked DHKMN title song from the very first time I heard. I started liking Tu Pyar Hai Kisi Aur Ka after listening/watching it a few times.

I like Kumar Sanu’s singing in Payalein Chunmun even though Javed Akhtar’s lyrics are almost childish with the rhyming words. Like Taaren Hai Barati a lot too which is also a very good song.

Thought of including Sambhala Hai Maine too.

Also like songs like Duniya Mein Aaye and Tu Mere Dil Mein Bas Jaa from Judwaa and Angna Mein Baba from Aankhen for his singing but decided not to include in the post.

i was just messing around. these are good choices and also the ones you included in the above comment. kumar sanu was my fav singer in the 90s and somehow i havent been able to like any singer as much as him. for me if sanu sings anything,it becomes good

a special mention to e kash hai hum from khkn. what a great song and what a performance from srk in the song and the film. reminds you of the days when srk was a natural.

Yeah KHKN is SRK’s most natural performance and then DDLJ happened and his acting became all deliberate.

  7. aryan 9 years ago

Good post Sputnik. Loved every song posted here. Kumar Sanu is my one of my favorite singer and he still remains one. I even use to listen to his pop songs when he was not being offered songs in movies. Sad that he is not being offered songs any more.

Just one more song to the list even though his part is less.
