The Lunchbox Poster Inspired/Copied from Looper Poster

Mid-Day has come out with this post about The Lunchbox poster being inspired/copied from the Looper poster. Apparently someone on Facebook first posted it.

And here is the Looper Poster.

And as is customary ‘However, one of the producers of the film, Guneet Monga says she has no clue about the ‘coincidence’. “It’s an original piece of work by our designers and I have no idea about the similarity between the two.”’

While the The Lunchbox poster looks definitely inspired/copied from the Looper poster the reflecting image thing has been done in other movie posters before too.

Here is Leaves of Grass poster starring Edward Norton which came out two years before Looper.

And here is poster from X-Men: First Class.

    Sorry Sputnik,

But I dont see any blatant copy here.

Maybe its just inspired. But it gels well with the theme for the movie.

I wont call it inspiration or copy…ofcourse they look similar..but context is really different. Looper was same person with a time difference but Lunchbox actually shows two people at either side of communication.

Reflected image usually suggests its the same person. So all those posters of Looper, X-Men and Leaves of Grass are fine but why does Nimrat Kaur’s reflection result in Irfan Khan when they are two different people?

If they are at either side of communication they should have been on either side of a table or with a split screen – not with Irfan inverted which just does not make any sense at all.

Its pretty obvious the poster designer saw the Looper poster and just copied it.

        Sputnik,

I actually didn’t see it as a reflection

The moment I looked at it..it seemed like two people at a lunch table and the photograph taken from a weird angle.

Of course, I am not suggesting that, that’s how the image was taken, but it just looked like that
