The Invisible Guest Movie Review by Sputnik

After waking next to his now-dead lover in a hotel room, a young businessman hires a prominent lawyer to figure out how he ended up a murder suspect.

Once the accident happened and the main characters tried to cover up the accident I could easily guess what the story was going to be about since I had already watched the director’s previous movie The Body (El cuerpo). The Invisible Guest is very similar to the movie The Body. That movie was also about a hit and run accident and revenge. It even had José Coronado, the same actor from The Body playing a similar role.

The movie has too many contrivances. What are the chances of the father of the kid you just killed in a accident showing up to help fix your car and that you have to go to his house to get your car fixed.

The upcoming Hindi movie Badla is an official remake of this movie. Based on the trailer of Badla they have reversed the gender of the main characters. I am not sure how they will be able to pull off the final twist with Amitabh as the lawyer.

After watching this movie I thought as to why they did not try to remake The Body instead which was an excellent thriller. Turns out its already being remade with Rishi Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi.

The movie is written and directed by Oriol Paulo. The problem with the movie is that its very similar to his previous movie The Body and the implausible contrivances need a huge suspension of disbelief. Those who haven’t watched The Body they might still enjoy this one but those who have watched The Body will most probably not like this one.
