Srk’s Cultural significance : Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke – Tera Naam Lene Ki

I had somehow missed this gem of a song from srk.A copied romantic track from Hum Tumhaare hai sanam (which is a cult classic in its own right 😉 )which in normal circumstances would have been shot with the lead pair srk and raveena.The director thought of going the non-commercial way and decided to show us the puppy love of srk-raveena as kids.Now it would have been fine except that the kid is using Kumar Sanus voiceover and the video looks like a soft child porn!may be the director wanted us to show how srk’s romantic films had social impact on the young generation at that time.We are aware of species of srk fan who have seen cheesefests like DTPH 75 times and those who think DDLJ is cult romantic cinema.srk had converted a lot of potentially worthy citizens such majnus in their teens itself.Nowadays they are busy writing reflections on banned forums.Have a look at the song though.

    @Baba,

    Here are the reviews from IMDB. Have not seen the video yet.

    First someone’s comment on this song – ” When the movie has to use two kids to sing an adult love song, something is wrong.”

    “For Pete’s sake, they even dubbed over SRK’s speaking voice! I’ll start with the dubbing.”

    “Everyone’s dialogue delivery was incredibly pathetic. I don’t know if it was even the actors’ own voices. It was so comical, especially Shahrukh and Mohnish Behl’s.”

    “Yes, this film took so long to make that SRK didn’t want anything to do with it and disowned himself from it. This is why his voice in the film isn’t his own but rather the dubbed voice of another actor.”

    And the best comment of all

    “The theater had a sign outside saying “no refunds on tickets for – Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke” we wondered why? Now we know.”

    Just watched the video. LOL at the video of the kid lip syncing to Kumar Sanu’s voice.

    Even Deven Bhojani’s voice is dubbed. LOL

    If they shot it like that because SRK and Raveena were no longer available to shoot the video hats off the director for coming up with that innovative idea. It should have been given award for Best Choreography 😉

    And if the director came up with the idea even though they were available then he should have been given the Best Director Award 😉

    I am surprised to know that nobody knows here SRK has already had issues on this movie and doesn’t consider it his movie. Good to know this forum also has blind haters. Well whatever.

      You should not take Baba’s commentary literally. He likes to bash and mock various stars and their fans. His writing is full of sarcasm and here he is trying to provoke/tease his friends.

      • jamoon 12 years ago

        so am I too allowed to do so ?? frankly if he writes something more fruitful, that would be better for this blog as it is hatred for big stars is so common. it’s easy to hurt sentiments of fans but tough to write something worth applause… and if i am not wrong this is the same author that is being bashed left, right and center like a football at naachgaana… not a good way to vent out one’s frustrations…

        One question Jamoon – your moniker stands for fruit or something else like go-chandamama?

        • jamoon 12 years ago

          yup.. you’re right about fruit but it’s ma name too.. i know it’s a bit wierd

    @jamoon,

    hithere posted a news link in a thread about SRK. He did not do that with some malicious intention nor is that link from some phony web site.

    As far as Baba is concerned he posted a thread sometime back and Amitabh fans and Abhishek fans were offended. Now he has posted something anti srk and I am sure he will post something anti aamir/salman/hrithik in the future.

    As long as there are no abuses towards others or the stars it is alright. One can criticize any star. Just the other day someone else thought that your comments were anti srk. I think everyone needs to chill and relax a bit.

    baba can never be anti hrithik to an extent where hr fans get offended, kyun sahin kaha na baba 😉

    jasper..you are wrong.

    Baba had made a cult post[its another fact that his cult posts are less :cult’ than mine 😉 ] on Aamir.

    Have a look here:

    Thanks Baba for making me remind of my majnugiri.But I am not writing my reflections on a banned forum..I am writing them on a Post Graduate Forum..earlier they used to be on a pathetic school forum!! 😀

    Milind ,sputnik – it is funny how sanu is used here.In old films,they used to take voiceovers of female singers for kids.I think in rangeela it was first time when a kid sang for a kid – aditya narayan,since then kids get voiceover of kids.I remember kids of HHRPK used to sing in alka yagniks voice 😀

    • sputnik 12 years ago

      I think that used to be in B&W movies. HHRPK did have kids singing for kids. Check this.

      https://youtube.com/watch?v=t31AWwbU84Y

      I don’t know when they started using kids voices for kids but even this one from 1983 has kids singing for kids.

    Most famous song by Alka Yagnik for a kid–Watch Anaari– and listen to that song– chhoti si pyaari si nanhi si aayi ek pari–very good song though!!
