well I agree its a timeless song.

I mostly like the way “iss shamm-e-faroza ke parvaane” line in last stanza.

      Considering “sham-e-faroza” means a lamp/ candle in night…

She says, are you scaring/threatening me by the blowing wind?(aandhi? your richness, power etc )..that you will get hold of me? (impress me?) Do you think ‘that’ storm of your prowess scares me to give into you?

      [Ah, forget it…]
I have seen a lot, ..hell lot than that…a flight of hundreds of moths/insects around an evening lamp is as good as a storm / strong wind (that you have been trying to impress me with..)

(poet compares fans/aashiqs with moths/insects gathering around the candle/ evening lamp. Lamp signifying the beauty she is ! )

lovely song. In fact most of the composition from Khhayyam sahab are marvelous. May it be Shagun (tum apna ranjo gham…) or Razia Sultan .. Aye dil e nadaan or Umrao jaan …!!!

@Sputnik – Off the topic/post, I was trying to find few songs composed by Sajjad Hussain like songs from Batwara, Rustam Sohrab but could not find the good prints. If possible can you ?
