      Thanks.

There are a lot of spoofs for that scene as that scene has become almost iconic.

The rushing or dragging scene was kick-ass .It was shown as the nomination clip at Oscars and got the biggest cheer.

    What about the climax ?

That scene and the Fletcher character has become almost cult or iconic. There are so many spoofs of that scene on youtube. JK Simmons himself channeled his character a bit on SNL show.

As I said before “I think the movie was good and intense until the car crash scene. Thereafter the movie did not know which direction to go. It tried to go into the abusive teacher angle but then came back to the music thing again.”

So I did not like the abusive teacher suddenly becoming a teacher with good intention only to say “Boo Ha I am taking revenge for what you did to me” and then back to a teacher with good intention again. So I did not like the climax or last scene much.

Here is the last scene. Embedding is disabled.

The original short film Whiplash starring JK Simmons.

In order to get financing for his Black Listed script, writer/director Damien Chazelle directed this short film version of Whiplash for the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. This short film lured investors to produce the full script to the tune of $3 million.

It won Sundance’s Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize. Johnny Simmons assumes the Miles Teller role.

This is why Whiplash was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay and not Original Screenplay at the Oscars.

The out of tune scene and the last scene were not available when I made the post. I had posted a link to the last scene in a comment above as embedding was not allowed. The short film I had posted had the out of tune scene but I guess it has been removed now.
