Check out this excellent chase scene from Shiva. Very well directed by Ram Gopal Varma, good cinematography and good background music.

didnt like the chase scene at all. may be it was good for its time. mostly i have less patience for long chase scenes because really nothing happens in such scenes. it is only after the chase is over, something important happens 😀 i can go through a chase scene only if it involves parkour, normal sequences bore me. they are predictable as hell.I remember the chase sequence in talaash and s26 recently, both which were big bores and too long and pointless.
Also if you notice, films involving chase sequences are not successful mostly. barsaat, koyla, kites had chase for most of the second half. after a point too much of chasing begins to bore.
hmm… well it is what a normal guy would do and there is no OTT South action in it.
I did not like chase scenes of Talaash and S26 – both dragged and Manoj one was totally unnecessary.
I have already posted Darr chase scene as Scene of the Week before. I also like the chase scenes from Sarfarosh where Aamir is chasing that criminal and the one from A Wednesday where Jimmy is chasing the criminal which can be said to be inspired from the Sarfarosh one.
parkour is also done by normal human beings 😉 but that aside, i already said it may have been good for its time. OTT south action like today was not possible back then. that technology was copied once matrix came i think. darr scene is also a drag.
now this is a chase scene that holds my attention
I don’t mind chase scenes if it is part of story. But Sp26 chase scene and story had no correlation. May be they wanted to show that Bajpai’s character never give- up attitude. But then it could have been integrated in story.
Agree. It was Manoj Bajpai’s entry scene – not OTT as those masala entry scenes but still there not because of the script/story demanded it but to appeal to audiences.
This chase scene was quite effective within the context of the movie. As for Special Chabbis – all the tricks it used (not just a chase scene) are all standard movie-making cliches in this day.
Good chasing scene if a common man stuck in that type of situation first he try to run from that place to save the girl. Here Ramgopal varma’s camera angle tricks works.
