Scene of the Week: Ben-Hur

Now that the trailer for the Ben-Hur remake is out check out this excellent Chariot Race scene from the original Ben-Hur.

Ben Hur was nominated for 12 Oscars and won 11 Oscars. Here is the list of 11 Oscars that it won.

    First time watched it. Had read a lot abt the race . Just excellent!!

    I doubt if remake can better this. Maybe in sound department and editing etc ..but here it seems as fresh as today.

      Agree that the remake may be better in sound and editing etc but it looks more CGI and except for Morgan Freeman the other actors are relatively unknown.

      The original scene still looks so real. The scene I posted is only 4 min long. The scene is actually 9 min long and is the highlight of the movie.

      The movie used to release a lot in the 90s and I watched it in a empty theater back then and liked it. Its a three and a half hour movie.
