Saw American Sniper today. its in 4th week and yet was more than 50% full. here are some of the scenes i liked:
There is one more scene of a guy killing a kid with a drill machine not available on youtube. Some training scenes in the beginning are good.

Had liked the drilling scene too and mentioned in my review – “The scene where The Butcher kills the kid and the father is excellent.”
Apart from these I also liked – “The scene where Kyle is sitting before a TV that is turned off and hearing sounds from war is excellent and so is the scene where he is looking at the rear view mirror all tense when he is back in US.”
So its doing well in India too. Its doing very well here in the US. I think its trending excellently and had made 300 million dollars so far.

I read your review again, i think you liked the movie far more than me. i think the film needed more scenes of moral dilemma. there are scenes in his day to day life where he seemns to be affected by war in iraq but i found it less impactful. also the climax could have been done better. it lacked intensity
The real Chris Kyle was not much of moral dilemma man.
Agree that the climax could have been better. The movie should have shown how he was killed. The writer said he did not want Kyle’s parents to see their son getting killed on screen.

I had mentioned all those points in the two videos in my review.
‘Now if the movie was based on a fictional character then it would have all been fine. But since it is based on Chris Kyle’s life it appears that the movie is glorifying him ignoring all the negative things about him. There is a scene in the movie where he tells that he knows what a Koran is and that person wasn’t carrying a Koran but a weapon which he goes on to describe. But this is what he is supposed to have said according to his own memoir -“I don’t shoot people with Korans. I’d like to, but I don’t.” The movie never shows the side of Kyle where he wrote stuff like “I hated the damn savages I’d been fighting, I never once fought for the Iraqis. I could give a flying f**k about them.” Link
Chris Kyle lied in his book that he punched Jesse Ventura for allegedly saying the SEALs “deserve to lose a few” in Iraq for which his estate got sued and lost. He falsely claimed that he climbed to the top of the New Orleans Superdome during Hurricane Katrina and sniped to death 30 African-American looters for which there’s no record. Chris Kyle falsely claimed to have shot carjackers. He said in his book that he and fellow snipers had a competition for who could kill the most Iraqis. He boasted about shooting two Iraqis who he believed to be insurgents, at the same time, with one bullet on a moped, and said that that bullet was an efficient use of taxpayer money. Then he later claimed that the IED they were holding somehow disappeared. Link
yes. did you read it from imdb or you searched it all by yourself? so this shows that hollywood is no diffferent when it comes to glorifying biopics and adding fake events. and they get multiple oscar nominations
There has been a lot of controversy here over the movie and I saw some articles on news sites.

ok. i read about iraq prison torture. someone should make a movie on that bitch lynndie england and show what a slut she was. after reading things about chris kyle, i think he was more closer to lynndie than cooper in the movie. the film looks completely fake. kyle enjoyed torturing the innocent iraqis and killing them and he has mentioned it in the book

Rakesh Mehra : Cooper would have six packs and iraqi girls would be droooling over it. He wouldnt die in the end and would dance to some punjabi number
Shankar: It would be a reincarnation story. in the sniper vs sniper scene, the bullet would cut into two pieces and hit two different iraqi snipers
Rohit Shetty : one bullet would blow one car away. After climax, there be a honey singh song “mera jigra hai tiger, hun dimag se hyper, goli maru jaise sniper”
Hirani : there would be lot of “moving tanks”
Aditya Chopra: Cooper will be an NRI. srk jaise haath failata romantic bgm mein,dheere dheere hawa chalti.aur cooper sher maarta
