Sajid Khan definitely has a common and a derivative style of making comedies and he has proven his mettle thrice in past. The humor, pronounced and slapstick, is roadmap for his films to function. With Humshakls, he might have brought a winning idea of triple roles, but amidst the creation of confusion, the writers forget that audience enjoys comedy more than confusion.
There is so much noise and screaming and unrequired mimicrys that even the supposed sane characters in the film comes across as mentally challenged.Contrived and boring, Humshakals suffers from bad timing of its lead Saif (although Ritesh does a decent job) and bad timing of jokes. There are sting of PJs. PJs can bring lump in your throat if served in right essence. There is a reason why a series like “Khichdi” thrived on PJs. Because there was an innocence which lacks big time in Humshakals.
Barring few genuinely hilarious moments in first half and that deliciously picturized Piya ke Bazaar, Humshakals has almost zero plusses in its Kitty, which is disgusting thing.

just back from humshakals. dont go by the bad reviews. its a good film.yes its usual silly comedy like hf,hf2 but some scenes are genuinely funny. i went expecting a terrible film but its not that bad. ritesh deshkmukh is the best. he had the public ROFL everytime he used to speak in marathi. ram kapoor was very good. saif was decent in some scenes and bad in some. this is not himmatwala part 2
I knew it !! Thanks !
going by the response in my hall, the film is not going to flop. there were clapping in many scenes. public was going lotpot with laughs everytime ritesh used to suddenly speak in marathi.he is the star of the film. very good acting.maximum applause was for a scene where both the triples come during a board meeting . that scene is written well . i think it copied from some hw film.
Sajid is good at complex screenplays which involves multiple characters and situations. The film may not have a great storyline.
PS: I realized this after I read Milind’s review and saw Housefull 2. Yes!, in his all fanatical blaberings there was some sense sometimes 😉
some scenes are satirical.there is a scene where satish shah who is hilter fan punches a prince charles lookalike saying “this is for the germans”and then prince charles punches him back saying “this is for the churches” 😀
