Its supposed to be based on the Nanavati case. Already two movies have been made based on the case – Yeh Raaste Hain Pyar Ke (1963) starring Sunil Dutt, Leela Naidu and Rehman and Achanak (1973) by Gulzar starring Vinod Khanna and Lily Chakravarty.
