this will be SLB biggest hit he learn from his mistake no need for too much black and fark film this has mass apeal and will be hit film

  3. sputnik 11 years ago

Movie looked like an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet and the synopsis below gives same feeling.

Sets and visuals do remind of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam but this seems to have violence too. Trailer looked good till a point but then got the feeling that SLB may ruin this one too. Supriya Pathak seems to have some OTT role.

Ranveer looks ok. Deepika seems to have one more acting oriented role and looks like she is acting well. She seems to have left her competition way behind.

    ——————

    Official Synopsis
Ram : Born in the land of guns, goons and hardcore enmity, RAM – the local village romeo, is a raapchik, cheap, dramatic vagabond. The lover who fights the whole world for his Leela and yet the man who stands by his clan even at the cost of his own love

Leela : In love with her enemy, a beautiful, young, spicy, fearless gujrati belle, born to an underworld mistress and yet far removed from the violence that surrounds her. Her life is only about her faith in her lover , her tireless wait for him, her sacrifices for him and ultimately her’self’ against him

When the two see each other for the first time, worlds collide, wars are fought and destinies are written in blood, forever. The Jadejas and the Rabaris are sworn enemies since the past 500 years and their own kin falling in love with each other is worst than any storm that could have ever come by. Set in the present day, magnificent vibrant landscape of Gujarat, woven with song and dance, Ram and Leela fight the world to live their own dreams. What will happen when they declare their love to the world? Will their families relent or will Ram and Leela carve their own destiny?

so slb is back to colours after the debacles in saawariya and guzaarish. trailer looked decent for a while as sputnik said. deepika has grown in acting . ranveer is playing street guy which he usually does.i think this film will have a good first half with some comedy/romantic scenes. the second half involving fight and violence will be OTT

First 15-20 secs are a little over the top but rest is really good. Deepika is superb & ranveer looks good. The town reminded me the settings of Jodha Akbar where hrithik gets hit frm an arrow & first few sec’s of HDCS settings. Overall very good promo.

  6. SYED IMRAN 11 years ago

just for deepika!!!!she is simply awesome and out of this world..

2013 is the year of deepika and the years to follow!!!

  7. cr7 11 years ago

Didn’t like it.But deepika is looking great as usual.looks like she has a good role and will again impress with her performance .

  8. Suprabh 11 years ago

Unexciting and mundane.. 5-7 chumma chaati scenes aur ishaqzaade hangover se bharpoor …. only good thing is deepika…she may just make this movie a big hit all by herself.

  9. Suprabh 11 years ago

sanjay Leela Bhansali,,is now tired of not making any money from his own directorial ventures and hence is trying to sell “rustic” to the masses. this trailer didn’t work for me at all.

    • hithere 11 years ago

Didn’t mind the trailer but agree with artificialness.

  10. Suprabh 11 years ago

The multiplex audience would anyways buy this so called portrayal of interiors.. Have to say..this is where Both Ranjhanaa and TWM excelled..Gangs of Wasseypur was superb in that department. They were all very natural i terms of performances (of the crowd in interiors)

Ishaqzaade was kinda fake and this looks similar.

  11. alfa.one 11 years ago

    Nice trailer. Touch of HDDCS.

  12. ank_16n 11 years ago

arre waah good to see @deadmanwalking n @alfa.one here ……..lagta hai NG days are back 😛

    ——————————

on the trailer i like it very much…..will work big time in multiplexes………this shows what 2-3 superhit movies can do to u people looking all out for deepika for ram leela after 2-3 hits earlier they used to bash her………
while a ranvir singh who has done a very good but not hit lootera is getting flak….!! 😛

yes deep inside we all love commercial cinema though we want to pretend we want good cinema 😉

  13. saurabh 11 years ago

i didn’t like the trailer at all.. no definate reason, or i guess its ranveer’s ott thing.. or artificiality.. something is artificial.. like the forced chemistry or forced chessey dialouge…
hope i like next trailer.. btw story is nthing new.. but deepika’s character will be very strong.. as i guessed from Synopsis…

i dnt think slb an handle action… like u’ll nt feel the bullets.. like in GOW or in City of gold u feel..

    hithere,

It has become a fashion to portray loud as gaon wala method. Take a movie like nadiya Ke paar..it is one of the most appropriate representation of interiors I have ever come across. Yes it was filmy but the culture, language or even clothes were very appropriately presented…and guess what it was not loud..even the loudness there was subtle.

Now take a look at this promo. It is shouting from rooftops- “look I am rustic.. Not only do I constantly wear regional clothes but I also use apbhranshit or polluted khadi boli to make a point.”

I get it , that its all just a movie..but some things just stink of plastic.

    • hithere 11 years ago

well said! Nadiya ke Paar has good sound track and I probably like it more than HAHK!

    • Reddemon 11 years ago

Please take the trouble to visit interiors and check yourself whether it is loud as shown in the trailor or Subtle as shown in NKP.

I can easily connect with the scene shown and dont feel its loud (it’s a market area and thats how it is).

      • Suprabh 11 years ago

        Reddemon,

I have spent a major part of my childhood holidaying in the interiors…and I feel it was more or less near perfect captured in Nadiya Ke paar.

    • Baba 11 years ago

i agree with suprbah that gaon wala are not loud like this. i mean even when they are loud, they are not like what is shown in ram leela and many other bw films. like everything else, we have stereotyped them too.

      • ank_16n 11 years ago

as far as i know in interiors gujarati n rajasthani’s are always loud…….
infact if someone doesn’t shows them loud then he is faking it..!! 😛

i have been to both gujarat n rajasthan and i can easily say they are somewhat loud n treat themselves larger than life

        • rajesh 11 years ago

I belong to Rajasthan and I spent two years in Gujrat too so I strongly disagree with your statement.

  16. rajesh 11 years ago

“Kaun disha se leke chala….” from Nadiya Ke Paar is my personal favourite.

  17. Reddemon 11 years ago

I am talking about the Market area (which is shown here) and that is how it is.

May be you were holidaying in a less populus area.

    • Suprabh 11 years ago

      Reddemon,

I was at my nanihal for months..hugely populous areas..spent a lot of time in Kanpur (Dehaat), Banaras..Also spent a lot of time in Mathura, Vrindabadn…Have also spent holidays in Shahjahanpur, Muzzafarnagar… these are the places I have spent quite a bit of my time..Apart from these I have visited a lot of other places in the North and Central India..and I am talking about mainly interiors.

      • hithere 11 years ago

I don’t know about Gujarat or Rajasthan but agree with Hindi heartland.

  18. Reddemon 11 years ago

    Suprabh
many of the places u mentioned are cities i guess and not interiors.

Interiors are like Baliya, Naruj, nandna, jagdeshpur, Gathiya, maharajganj, basti, babhanan etc from UP.

    • Suprabh 11 years ago

      Reddemon,

I mentioned, that I have been to the interiors of the cities/town I mentioned. I mentioned cities.because most people know about them

I have stayed in Hardoi, Mirzapur,Gopiganj,Panki, Naubasta etc.

This film is very interesting and I am looking forward to it. Sanjay Leela Bansali’s protrayal of Romeo and Juliet
will be very interesting. Ranveer Singh is a great looker and is very macho. He is I think one of the best young
upcomming actors we have in the under 30 age group. Ranbir Kapoor is over 30. He was excellent in ‘Lootera’.Deepika is
having a dream run at the box office. Race, Yeh Jawani hai Deewani, Chennai Express and now this. She is now running
neck to neck with Katrina. Deepika has great talent and histrionics. But I am still in love with Katrina. So comming
back to RamLeela on the whole a great film to look forward to.

Like everything Bhansali does, having mixed feelings abt this one too.

  21. phoenix 11 years ago

Looking forward to this. Doesn’t look like the usual melodramatic SLB, seems like the colorful and happy part of HDDCS. And Deepika sure is in form…

  22. Anjanpur685Miles 11 years ago

    Ye Rajasthan/Gujrat hai ya Bihar/UP?

Havent ever been to north but our films always showed gunshots like these esp for Bihar/UP based films.

  23. Bored 11 years ago

This is Bhansali’s la-la land. But the visuals are great as usual. On rewatching this trailer, found it exhausting even in its 2 min length!

  24. Anjanpur685Miles 11 years ago

^ I found the trailer colorful but totally “Chichora” type like most of the trailers since last year. Overtly and unnecessarily sexual and trying too hard on shock value.

(Besharam trailer also falls in same category – in the “Rabdi” dialogue Ranbir gives expressions like he is doing cunnilingus act on the heroine)

Is this generation going back to 70s? revolt against nothing/ breaking rules for no apparent reason ..ofcourse every generation does that in teenage age …but 70s was something else. Globally.

  25. Bored 11 years ago

Back to the hippies? I think this generation desperately wants to bring explicit sex and nudity into films now – and is revolting against the implicit cliches being used in bollywood since 40s.

The excessive use of colors here is like Bhansali’s OTT statement of being out of depression (Guzaarish was his self proclaimed work of depression). What he really needs is to come out of his operatic style of direction.

    • Baba 11 years ago

i think what bhansali really needs to do is to stop directing/producing films 😉 when he directs he makes saawariya , when he produces he makes RR. not bothered about either of them

  26. Bored 11 years ago

And Yahoo! Bhansali doesnt want to die anymore. Instead, he wants SEX!
