Shorcut Romeo And Enemmy Dull Raanjhanaa Better But Low
Friday 21st June 2013 11.30 IST
Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network
The new hindi releases this week could not open well. Shortcut Romeo opened to a 10% response while Enemmy opened to a similar 10% response at single screens with very low collections at multiplexes where the release is very limited.
The best bet this week looks Raanjhanaa which also opened below the mark at around 20-25% but is well ahead of the other two films.
The film could make some headway if it can pick up with good word of mouth but even then it will face competition from two established films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Fukrey on Saturday and Sunday which can limit the growth.

B.O. update: ‘Raanjhanaa’ leads, ‘Shortcut Romeo’ dull!
By Taran Adarsh, June 21, 2013 – 14:32 IST
Three significant Hindi films [RAANJHANAA, SHORTCUT ROMEO, ENEMMY] and a major Hollywood release [WORLD WAR Z]… the marketplace is surely crowded! Despite the plethora of new releases and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI and FUKREY dominating the BO, RAANJHANAA fetched a 30% to 35% start at several screens, which can be termed an encouraging start. The reports are very good and the favorable word of mouth is expected to translate into healthy numbers over the weekend.
SHORTCUT ROMEO has had a lukewarm start, but the word of mouth of this stylish thriller is positive as well. It remains to be seen if it picks up over the weekend. ENEMMY is aimed at the single screen audience mainly.

Raanjhanaa Picks Up And Heads For A Decent First Day
Friday 21st June 2013 22.30 IST
Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network
Raanjhanaa which had a mediocre opening in the morning picked up well in the afternoon and will record decent first day figures. The film has done well in places like UP, Bihar, CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan.
The first day should come in at around 5 crore nett which is pretty good especially after the low start. But on the other side its a pretty wide release and collections at best par for the release.
If the metro multiplexes show good growth on Saturday the film will be set for a good run at the box office. There was no such luck for the other releases Shortcut Romeo and Enemmy which have poor reports and showed little improvement after a very dull start

Shortcut Romeo Is Mega Disaster
Saturday 22nd June 2013 10.30 IST
Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network
Shortcut Romeo is one of the biggest disasters of the year. The collections are simply horrific across the board with multiplexes collecting INR 2000-3000 each.
There are many films that collect this low but they are films like Meri Shaadi Karao, Dekha Jo Pehli Baar, I Don’t Luv You etc, basically all films that have practically zero awareness which is not the case for a film like Shortcut Romeo.
The collections of Shortcut Romeo in Delhi/UP are not even 5 lakhs which tells a sad story. Raanjhanaa has grossed more than 5 lakhs in Lucknow alone.
The all India collections of Shortcut Romeo will hardly touch 25 lakhs nett.

Ank,
I try and predict on the basis of Promos/Trailers/Songs/Genre and People associated with the Movie and the Hype/Buzz for the Movie.
I predict before the Reviews/WOM and 1st Day Estimates are out so it becomes very much more difficult to get it right π
Anyways, Trying my Best and Hope to Improve π
A ‘+-10cr Range’ from the preds is fine but Not even 1cr Lifetime All-India Nett is definately SHOCKING!
.
I feel really bad for Niel NM bcz I really liked him in JG and NY.
And, he looks Great/Classy onscreen too, atleast in appearance.
He must be really frustuated now(David, 3G, SCR).
Poor Chap! π
Raanjhanaa Does Well In First Weekend
Monday 24th June 2013 10.30 IST
Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network
Raanjhanaa has done well in its first weekend with collections around the 19.25 crore nett mark. The film also had a very healthy trend over the weekend with good growth on Saturday and Sunday.
The film is done well in most circuits with UP being the best performer while East Punjab was a bit lacklustre. The Maharashtra area has also performed well with good collections in CP Berar and Nizam.
The film has a big budget for the cast of film but the weekend collections has ensured it is safe and now time will tell how far it can go. Raanjhanaa has got the weekend box office numbers despite competition from two very settled films in the form of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Fukrey.

Raanjhanaa Has Good Collections On Monday
Tuesday 25th June 2013 10.30 IST
Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network
Raanjhanaa held up very well on Monday with collections of around 3.75-4 crore nett as per early estimates. The drop is just 25% from Friday and the film looks set for a good run for a few weeks.
The film on Monday has scored all over the country. The areas which under performed over the weekend like Delhi city and Punjab were the steadiest on Monday with drops of just 10-15%.
The film will do at least 32.50 crore nett for the first week and the figure could even go towards 35 crore nett if the weekdays hold up very well which is a strong possibility looking at Monday trend.

Raanjhanaa Is A HIT
Friday 27th June 2013 10.00 IST
Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network
Raanjhanaa has emerged a hit despite a big budget for a non face value cast. The film had a very strong trend on the weekdays as it collected around 34 crore nett plus in week one.
The film has collections similar to Aashiqui 2 which was helped by a holiday on Wednesday. Aashiqui 2 had a fantastic run from week two to week five and would very hard for Raanjhanaa to have a similar run but it still should put a very good lifetime number.
The trend on the first week has ensured the film will emerge a hit and now it remains to be seen if it can go higher.
