Players is an upcoming Bollywood heist film directed by Abbas Mustan. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sikander Kher and Aftab Shivdasani. Based on the 2003 Hollywood blockbuster, The Italian Job, The film is set to release on January 6, 2012.
Lets start with the prediction…
1. The trailer of the movie has not been liked much by the audience. The music is also not that good as none of the song is a chartbuster. This will be a big negative for the opening.
2. Lack of a face value will also affect the opening as none of the star in the movie has capability to provide good opening day.
3. Promotions have also been low key.
4. But people have believe on Abbas Mustan as the jodi has always given very good suspense films. Also it is a remake of Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Italian Job’. So people can give it a try.
5. Also it is coming after two weeks from Don 2 and is a solo release so can get some advantage from this.
On the whole Players will depend on WOM and will not have a good opening. The first day business will be in 4-5 crore range.

Don 2 has a couple of scenes inspired/copied from The Italian Job like the van painting scene. While Players is a official remake some people might think it is similar to Don 2 with the heist theme. With both the movies coming back to back some may have a feeling of deja vu.
