PK could have been a worthy “sequel” to Oh MY God!

I hated the promos. Found Aamir Khan terribly over the top and retarded and I could never think Hirani can go above his juvenile comedic social commentaries.

That of course doesn’t mean PK is flawless. It is far from it. But it is undoubtedly Hirani’s most ambitious film where he has gone into somewhat serious mode which is devoid of comedy. But that it also what undoes this movie because satire was needed from start to the end. PK starts off with introduction of aamir like jadoo of KMG. There is lot of implausible sequences. Aamir as alien pk has no concept of clothing but they have built a spacecraft and have travelled the galaxy! The first 20 min track of the Anushka-Sushant is very boring and does nothing for the film. The film works when Aamir as PK takes over and the satire works quite well. The best sequences is the one where Aamir in his quest for his lost “locket” goes on God Hunting and goes past various religious practices in India. The visuals of blood letting in Moharram, the giant Adinath Bawangaja statue and so on gave me goosebumps.

Its the second half where the movie nosedives with virtually nothing to speak about. Aamir as PK questions our practices and superstitions but leaves it there. He never offers his perspective. This is where OMG was great in its message of donating money to poor instead of temples and how that makes God happy and not worshipping him by making statues. There is an elaborate sequence where the fake baba and Aamir have a one on one and it lacks the punch. There are no good arguments. Instead we have an offtrack telephone episode of Anushka with her Pakistani boyfriend. It is not relevant to the topic and by itself it probably added so that the movie does well in Pakistan and gulf countries.

Regarding the performances, I havent seen a more ugly looking actress than Anushka in my theater experience and just watching her on big screen I had to move my face away in her closeups. Aamir was playing the alien but she looked more like one with that Hanuman-like lips due to implants. Sushant doesn’t have much role. Same for Boman. So it is the tinga tinga nanga punga Aamir Khan (sorry , i don’t mean to abuse Aamir , i just happen to hate the song) which makes you sit through the movie. He is the soul of the film and his expressions, his dialogue delivery as bhojpuri are outstanding. Thankfully he was not playing a retard. This is one of his best performances or may be his best.

I don’t know how much it will do at the BO. But its a film with the right intention and if not for the underwhelming second half, it would have been among my all time favorite films. It is still my favorite movie of this year.

One bit i want to add : There was no need for the Anushka-sushant angle. infact this movie didnt need them . It should have been PK Vs Godmen.

    Spoiler alert:

How foolish was anushak character. she never ever verified the letter was written by sushant or not. someone gives her a letter in the age of phones, whatsapp and she trusts an anonymous letter. height of stupidity

    • sputnik 9 years ago

“There was no need for the Anushka-sushant angle. Infact this movie didnt need them . It should have been PK Vs Godmen.”

Yeah but unfortunately Raju Hirani and our Bollywood filmmakers can’t think of a movie without romantic angles. The Aamir-Anushka romantic angle in the climax also looked forced and there was that unnecessary song all of a sudden.

On the letter thing the Baba had sowed doubt in her mind. So she was already pre-convinced that he is going to dump her. So reading that her letter she assumed that he had dumped her. But she could have called him or he could have called her. The explanation given for him not calling and calling that Pakistani embassy daily was all so cheesy.

    • sputnik 9 years ago

Abhijat Joshi talks about the letter in this video.

Abhijat and Raju Hirani admitting that the second half was not good as the first one. They say that their initial second half was like Inception but since Inception came out they had to change their second half.

      • Baba 9 years ago

they are desparate to cover the stupidity of the letter. that scene is not like 3i or lrmb. its supposed to be the crux of the climax, an argument on which supposedly aamir “wins” the debate over tapasvi.

“They say that their initial second half was like Inception but since Inception came out they had to change their second half”

        i think they are bullshitting

@sputnik why did you edit my aamir khan praise?

    • sputnik 9 years ago

      Ha Ha

No need for such abusive words in a review. Rest of the review is all good so why use such words in one line?

Anyway I thought you will like the movie as you had started liking the promos.

Seems to me that some are liking the movie a lot and some are not. Some are saying its very manipulative and that OMG which dealt with the same thing was much better.

Here is a review by someone who loved OMG.

      ————–

ET (please go home!) mash up with OMG!

      2 Stars

      Mini Review:

You like Rajkumar Hirani? Watch Munnabhai again. This is a tiring, plodding, annoying version of ET mashed up with the brilliantly written OMG. Why would anyone want to sit through 153 minutes of overcooked ideas?

      Main Review:

So it’s Rajkumar Hirani. And no one will deny superior touches in the movie: A bomb has gone off and when someone kicks the two-in-one PK carries with him most of the time, the song, ‘Aasma pe hai khuda, aur zami pe hum’ comes on. That moment earns this movie its one star.

The second star is earned by a moment – and only a director like Hirani could have thought it up – when the sardarji gives his wife that 100 rupee note to give to the waiter at the five star hotel.

In the scheme of the movie, these two moments are not important. But you suddenly discover empathy for the characters, the scene, and that is fully paisa vasool.

      The rest of the movie?

PK lands naked and comic music plays (Terminator did that hundred years ago! And you still smile when anyone wears RayBans like Arnie did)
PK chased by mobs of every religion with comic music playing.
PK chased by men because he tried to hold hands with their wives with comic music playing.
PK eating paan (the red juices coloring his lips) with comic music playing.
PK calling the prostitute ‘sister’ because he missed downloading that bit of information. No comic music plays here, but she snores.
PK mentioning ‘dancing cars’ and showing us what they are at least 4 times in the movie accompanied by comical creaking and orgasmic sounds.
PK speaking Bhojpuri. Supposed to be comic? Must be, because his language makes people laugh.
PK goggling eyes. Almost always accompanied by song with words like ‘Tharki Mehmaan’
PK asking ‘innocent’, ‘endearing’, questions like, ‘Bhagwan ki battery change karni hai kya?’ accompanied by comic twangs of music. Almost always showing people rolling their eyes at him and sniggering too.

If you’ve had enough of PK, then hear me complain about the screenplay that is so repetitive, each time PK asks religion ka thappa dikhao, you want to ask, ‘Is script par approval ka thappa kisne lagaya?’

I agree that we love Rajkumar Hirani so much, that we are willing to forgive him this movie. We call it ‘brave’, ‘audacious questions asked’ and so on…

I wish I had not seen OMG! the movie, where Paresh Rawal makes every argument against practiced religion and the godmen with so much more logic, so much precision, that this better budgeted movie looks flawed.

You cared for ET and his need to phone home. You cared for the little kids who love him. You remember the m&ms the kids lure him with. You adored how little Drew Barrymore dresses him up like a girl. Here, no matter how much he cries and wobbles his lip, you just want to him to go home. You grit your teeth when you see PK in a woman’s skirt (you don’t ask how he knew that the skirt was meant to be worn in the lower half and the coat on the upper, you are just so bored). It’s not cute.

You want to ask the writers, ‘Have you not visited churches where Mother Mary statues are draped in sarees, and coconuts are offered to her?’ But I drowned that logic in coffee and exasperation when the ‘God’ sticker joke is repeated.

You have seen so many alien movies, you are just grateful that they do not show mini PKs emerging from teapots and desk drawers at Anushka’s home because he danced with her. Aliens love to procreate, too, our movies tell us (When the title: ‘One Year Later’ is shown on the screen, that was my biggest fear).

Cheating Godmen is a theme as old as the hills (remember Jaadugar?), so this looks boring in comparison. Even Nirmal Baba sponsored shows on TV are more fun to watch…

I’m disappointed by the horrendous mash up. I refuse to believe that directors don’t watch films by other filmmakers so that their craft remains pure. Somebody must have watched OMG? ET?

I came away saying ‘Ouch’ because now there’s hole in my heroes gallery where Rajkumar Hirani once stayed.

      ‘Ouch’

      • Baba 9 years ago

his review is a bit harsh but his points are correct. as i said there are lot of implausible things in the movie (aamir can transfer language by touching hands etc).

        • sputnik 9 years ago

          Its “her” review 🙂

This is a tweet by someone who I know on twitter and he is usually reliable and he liked OMG.

“#PK is manipulative constructed and bad film sorry Raju is baar wrong connection lag gaya.”

“Things which I didn’t liked or ignored in 3 idiots #PK me wahi sab bhar diya gaya hai thoons thoons ke.”

“Sorry #PK wasn’t #Ok it is average and ridiculously bad.”

          • Baba 9 years ago

i am waiting for your review. i think knowing your history of finding loopholes, you might have to make part 1 part 2 of pk bcos the movie has many many loopholes. i have pointed only a few. my main interest was how the scenes of Godmen would be handled and how superstitions will be tackled

      • Baba 9 years ago

” I thought you will like the movie as you had started liking the promos.”

read last line. i have said its my fav film this year

  3. alfa.one 9 years ago

Baba one more flaw as I feel, how do aamir learn bhojpuri from a Rajasthan I girl????

    • alfa.one 9 years ago

I fully agree with ur views, second half took nose dive or else the film would have been brilliant. I mentioned this already in my comments.

      • Baba 9 years ago

yes your review is bang on. fully agreed. i think hirani ran out of ideas in second half. climax was underwhelming. romance should never have been the focus

    • Baba 9 years ago

sanjay dutt takes him to a brothel where there are whores from different parts of india. he meets a bhojpuri whore

  4. Baba 9 years ago

some aamir fans came with wrong expectations . this fim is not 3i. its not a comedy. they started lauging after the bomb blast scene wacthign aamirs expression. didnt relaise its a serious scene. they realised it only after seeing sanjay dutt is dead!the film has comedy scenes but its not a comedy film like 3i. it is not munna bahi also. it is pk. its a diferent film. actually it should have been more funny. the movie had to be a satire from start to end.ranbirs cameo in the end is bcos he is going to star in hiranis next

  5. Baba 9 years ago

this is the part where OMG went from strength to strength and reached its peak in the climax. pk lost steam in the same moment, at the same time after interval in the film

  6. Baba 9 years ago

for the uninitiated ,my elaborated take on Oh My God on these two threads:

My favourite scene from Oh My God!

    Boldest Scenes in Hindi Cinema

  7. Baba 9 years ago

@ritz “Second half looks like TVF/AIB parody of Raju Films. Within few days I am sure many such parodies will be out”

i didnt saw it that way. now that you have said it, i am thinking on those lines! 😀

i think 2nd half was directionless. it could have been handled much better. the stage was set

    • Baba 9 years ago

when interval happened,i was overwhelmed with the movie. i thought this will overtake omg bcos pk was covering many other grounds apart from Godmen.it was also critising our day to day things like respecitng gandhi only on the rupee note and so on.

anyway, for what pk is ; haider, queen jaisi filmon ki koi aukaat nahi pk ke saamne.this is a real movie.this is why movies are supposed to be made,to question us, our lives

    • Baba 9 years ago

he is referring to aamir as “midget khan” . must be some srk fan or aamir hater 😉

he is a bit hyper in his critism as if everything associated with the movie has gne terribly wrong. the first half has som really good satire which was there in only OMG before pk in the history of hindi films.

“Jaggu is played by Anushka Sharma adhering diligently to her de rigueur wardrobe of less (clothes) is more (flesh). The gal is studying TV production and after some unrequited ass-kissing of Amitabh Bachchan in the film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Raju Hirani (wonder what’s behind this Bachchan brand-building exercise) she meets a Pakistani boy Sarfaraz (Sushant Singh Rajput)”

completely agree with this. who cares about amitabh now? especialy in younger generation

      • rajesh 9 years ago

He in general thrash most of the Bollywood movies and is critical of all three khan specially Salman. Read his previous reviews, you may enjoy reading those in a different mood.

        • Baba 9 years ago

A office colleague of mine saw pk yday and he got pissed with the movie. he thinks its mocking hindu religion and he was blasting it on his timeline and asking others to do the same. These kind of reactions plus Boycott PK etc trending on twitter on one side benefits the movie but on other side also explains what happens when you present only a one-sided view. same thing happened for haider.OMG did not face such rejection from any groups. Ofc Paresh rawal is not a superstar and he is not looked upto the way aamir is by fans but OMG thrashed and mocked religons on another scale altogether but concluded all its questions with excellent answers.that is the difference

          • sputnik 9 years ago

Have not seen the movie so can’t comment on how one sided it is but have seen tweets condemning PK and Aamir on twitter. Some Hindu right wing groups were tweeting this TQ link blasting Aamir.

            https://tanqeed.com/my-wives-may-be-hindu-but-my-kids-will-always-follow-only-islam-aamir-khan/

Even OMG blasted mostly Hindu rituals and Idol worship. They had to add some token blasting against Muslim/Christian practices just to appear neutral/fair which I think PK must have done too (Moharram scene?).

OMG had mostly Hindu cast and director (Paresh, Akshay and Umesh Shukla) so if they bash any Hindu practices then its fine for many of these fanatics. But when it has a Muslim Aamir then some of these Hindu fanatics will have a issue. Now many of them won’t bash Raju who is the director and writer.

Another reason for non bashing of OMG is that many have still not seen it. I was just talking to someone and he said that PK raised important issues as Aamir films always do. I asked him if he watched Oh My God and he had not even heard about it.

          • Baba 9 years ago

“Even OMG blasted mostly Hindu rituals and Idol worship”

Yes. And it did a lot more than that. Paresh Rawal was almost abusing the rituals! IN that court scene which i have posted in thread where he is listing the donations he made he says “dargah ki chaddar, church ki candle,Baba ki agarbatti, Maa Ki Chood(ani)” with perfect tongue in cheek. There is a reason why he names them in that order (Chaddar, candle, baba ki “agarbaati and “Chood(ani)” 😉 he was going ballistic in OMG
he refers to shiv linga as random “kaala pathar” . he calls mandir as dukaan.

“They had to add some token blasting against Muslim/Christian practices just to appear neutral/fair”

No there is a lot more than just token blasting. He asks a muslim not to go for haj , instead repair his shop. Asks a muslim fakir not to beg taking name of Allah. In the final court scene, he quotes verses from all major relgions and so on. Most importantly paresh rawal gave his perspective of how reach God after bashing the rituals. PK doesnt, at any point of time. Instead goes completely offtack with Indo-pak nonsense which is a petty argument for the topic.

The final masterstroke of OMG was making Akshay as Krishna. It makes the hardcore hindu relieved that atleast the director acknowledges my God! The director also kept the bashings in a satirical tone or black comedy. So even the most potentially volatile scenes like paresh breaking idols and akshay as krishna smiling and approving his act go down well.

          • sputnik 9 years ago

“Paresh Rawal was almost abusing the rituals! IN that court scene which i have posted in thread where he is listing the donations he made he says “dargah ki chaddar, church ki candle,Baba ki agarbatti, Maa Ki Chood(ani)” 😀 with perfect tongue in cheek
he refers to shiv linga as random “kaala pathar” . he calls mandir as dukaan.”

And still no one had an issue with that. But some are blasting some line from PK that “jo darr gaya wo mandir gaya” which I don’t think is as offensive as what Paresh was saying.

Asking a Muslim not to go for haj and instead repair his shop may be bold but the treatment is done in a comic or Paresh is crazy kind of way.

Asking a Muslim fakir not to beg taking name of Allah is no big deal. In my locality a Muslim mechanic used to regularly sold beggars who begged using the name of Allah. He used to tell them “work for me and I will pay you” and you know what none of them worked. They just begged because they wanted to not because they did not have a job.

“The final masterstroke of OMG was making Akshay as Krishna. It makes the hardcore hindu relieved that atleast the director acknowledges my God! The director also kept the bashings in a satirical tone or black comedy. So even the most potentially volatile scenes like paresh breaking idols and akshay as krishna smiling and approving his act go down well.”

Yes but that’s like having the cake and eating it too. The atheist did not win just by his logical arguments. The atheist was proven wrong as there was a God (Akshay) and the God was also rescuing and even healing him. I also may have said that OMG got away with a lot of bashing because of its satirical tone. But still the movie deserves praise just for being so bold in a country like India.

          • Baba 9 years ago

as i said earlier, PK is getting bad reactions from some hardcore hindus bcos of its one sided view and no solutions offered. When you mock someones relgion, you mock his way of life. The obvious question they will ask you is if my way of life is wrong , then what is the right way? pk has no answers to it as pk himself is confused about concept of God.

“Asking a Muslim not to go for haj and instead repair his shop may be bold but the treatment is done in a comic or Paresh is crazy kind of way”

that is exactly what is called the smartness/art of the director

“Asking a Muslim fakir not to beg taking name of Allah is no big deal. ”

Not for a muslim, but a hindu telling a muslim beggar not to beg in the Name of Allah and commenting on what he should do that will impress him, is a big deal

” The atheist was proven wrong as there was a God (Akshay) and the God was also rescuing and even healing him”

The movie is a satire. Akshay as God asks paresh not to worship him. He asks him to throw away the amulet which God himself owned. The director wanted to convey these messages through God himself. The message is important. Not the God.This is what is called a true satire.

In pk, aamir is an alien who can “transfer” any language by touching hands. He can read anyones mind and so on. I did not mind it as long as the satire worked in first half.

          • sputnik 9 years ago

Now that I have seen the movie I can say that the movie the movie is mostly about Hindu Gods and Hindu religious practices. It does show token scenes of Aamir going to a church with the coconut and Aamir trying to go to a mosque with wine. And in the song where he is practicing different religions he is shown going to a Dargah, doing Namaz and self flagellating himself during Moharram, baptizing himself and going to Gurudwara. There were some Burkha clad girls saying that some fatwa against them going to school is wrong too. So they did try to be balanced or neutral as much as they could on that point.

There were some dialogues by the Baba that sounded anti Muslim like what he says about Sushant’s character or the way he suggests that PK is a Muslim because he is questioning him. Since PK’s character is against that Baba and since he bats for Sushant’s character the Hindu fanatics may feel that the movie is anti Hindu.

I saw some comments on twitter about the Shiva scene. Even though the scene was about an actor playing Lord Shiva I think the scene was somewhat in bad taste and it felt like it was mocking Lord Shiva.

    Fantastic film
    But omg was much bolder
The main difference between pk and omg is that omg did not mince any words.. It said everything point blank.. Kanji bhai is the most kickass yet a very human character
While in pk..hirani held himself back
In second half he could have said so much more.. But I think as a producer he got scared (and omg didn’t)
Pk definitely is more entertaining than omg but omg was a much better film

First half is very entertaining if we compare it to second half but problem for me is that at times you feel that this director is getting formulaic like as sputnik pointed out the call scene and gandhi giri sequence is so similar to wrong number sequence.for me this movie is extension of manglic episode he shown in LRMB

  16. Reddemon 9 years ago

PK cannot be compared with OMG. While OMG was bashing wrong religious practices PK bashes The Hindu religion itself.

    1. OMG had religious guru from all the religion but PK has only Hindu Guru.

    2. I was honestly startled when the priest asked the girl to drop 5000 rs. in the temple donation box, for I have never come across any priest till now asking me to do the same.

3.I was wondering if people from other religion would have reacted in the same way had their god been running on the streets & inside a toilet like a cartoon instead of the Hindu god Shiva showcased in the movie.

    4. Why only setting up a small temple using a stone as Idol outside a college in the movie was the only option, why not any other thing??

We need to work together to eradicate wrong things from the world in the name of religion, equally from all religions. Restricting that thing to only one religion may not be a genius idea and thats where OMG succeds and PK fails. OMG was a smart movie and PK is just a poor imitation of OMG.

    • Baba 9 years ago

excellent points reddemon. i agree with each of them especially #3 and 4. and i also agree with sputnik that shiva scene was in bad taste. you have to be more active on tq.
what aamir does in his personal life is his choice. i am not bothered about it

    • sputnik 9 years ago

“1. OMG had religious guru from all the religion but PK has only Hindu Guru.”

Even OMG had those 3 Hindu religious gurus (Siddheshwar Maharaj, Gopi Maiyya and Leeladhar Swamy) at the front in the court and they were the ones who were shown as bad and bashed a lot. There was a Muslim priest and a Christian priest in the background and they were there only for token purpose.

“3.I was wondering if people from other religion would have reacted in the same way had their god been running on the streets & inside a toilet like a cartoon instead of the Hindu god Shiva showcased in the movie.”

In the movie its not supposed to be the actual Hindu god Shiva but some stage actor who is playing Shiva. Now there is that famous Mahabharata scene from Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro where also there was some mocking but it wasn’t in bad taste. This scene however wasn’t funny and it was in bad taste.

I know its not that common in Bollywood but there are lot of Telugu movies where Hindu Gods are made fun of and these are made by Hindus and enjoyed by Hindus primarily. Nobody is offended by these movies down there.

Now here in US Jesus is mocked in some comedy shows and stand up comedy. Here is a spoof of Django Unchained with Jesus which I had already posted here Link.

Forget showing anything similar to that Shiva scene with a Muslim religious figure or God. Even if they do as much as depict a Muslim religious figure on screen there could be huge trouble.

“4. Why only setting up a small temple using a stone as Idol outside a college in the movie was the only option, why not any other thing??”

The movie is made by a Hindu writer/director Raju Hirani and is primarily about Hindu rituals targeted at the Hindu majority in a Hindu majority country. He showed some token Muslim/Christian scenes too. It was the same in OMG which was also primarily about Hindu rituals targeted at the Hindu majority in a Hindu majority country and there were some token Muslim/Christian scenes too.

I don’t remember any Sikh/Zoroastrian religious bashing scene in the movie. If we are going to go on this path then PK will need to have same scenes repeated with all the different religions in India atleast.

I have seen this “Milk to Shivlinga” dialogue criticism of PK but I don’t remember the scene where PK criticizes that. The Milk to God criticism dialogue was there in OMG but I did not hear any bashing back then. Most of the bashing on twitter that I have seen is directed at Aamir the actor because he is Muslim than at Raju Hirani who is the actual writer/director of the movie.

” There was a Muslim priest and a Christian priest in the background and they were there only for token purpose.”

there was an eloaborate scene about paresh quoting verses from all three religons.

there are scenes of paresh , a hindu suggesting a muslim shopkeeper to not “waste money” on haj but repair his shop. Instructing a muslim beggar not to beg taking name of Allah but work and that woudl please Allah. Can a normal hindu go around asking muslims what to do and what would please Allah? they will smack the hindu in the face.

        • sputnik 9 years ago

“there are scenes of paresh , a hindu suggesting a muslim shopkeeper to not “waste money” on haj but repair his shop.”

Those are two scenes. How many scenes were of all other religions and how many were of Hinduism?

“Instructing a muslim beggar not to beg taking name of Allah but work and that woudl please Allah. Can a normal hindu go around asking muslims what to do and what would please Allah? they will smack the hindu in the face.”

That’s precisely the problem. OMG would have got bashed and those right wing organizations would have protested against it the same way if Aamir or any Muslim actor starred in PK specially if they played Paresh Rawal’s role.

          • Baba 9 years ago

those two scenes are enough to make it a balanced film, the scenes were strong enough.

aamir, as a muslim should take care. he should know in a country like India what can happen if you mock someones religon especialy a muslim mockinh hindus. there will be politicians who will spin the commentary agaisnt and in favour of the film if the film is not balanced.he should have taken care to add scenes of other religon bashign too.there are religous bigots in india and it is the responsiblity of the actor and director to be aware of it in advance and make a film smarlty

        • sputnik 9 years ago

No they are not enough and they don’t make it a balanced movie.

Using that logic I can say that even PK is balanced as there were scenes where Aamir is shown going with wine towards a mosque, Burkha clad women being angry with him because of the implication that it is worn by widows, some Muslim girls saying fatwa against going to school is wrong, Aamir doing Namaz and going to Dargah and his prayer still not being answered.

As I said for PK if a movie has to be balanced then for every Hindu religious bashing scene it will need a scene bashing Muslim/Christian/Sikh/Zorastrian and every other religion that you can find in India.

The only way to be smart about it in India is for a Muslim actor not to act in a movie mocking Hindu religious rituals. And any Hindu/Christian/Sikh/etc actor will have to not act in a movie which mocks religious rituals of any other religion other than his own.

Actually one may face trouble in India even if they are from the same religion. So why go through all that trouble? No wonder most actors keep acting in the same crappy masala movies which don’t question anything.

          • Baba 9 years ago

those are blink and miss scenes. they are exactly what you called token scenes, the scenes in OMG are elaborate and the court scene where he takes on all 3 religons through the religous texts is a decisive one, one of the most important scenes of the film.

a bad one sided film will be mocked and opposed. srk played a muslim in mnik yet he was mocked by everyone.

          • Reddemon 9 years ago

“Using that logic I can say that even PK is balanced as there were scenes where Aamir is shown going with wine towards a mosque, Burkha clad women being angry with him because of the implication that it is worn by widows, some Muslim girls saying fatwa against going to school is wrong, Aamir doing Namaz and going to Dargah and his prayer still not being answered.”

In these scenes only the muslim/christian relgious practices are shown and the wrong one’s have not been questioned. In OMG presh rawal questions both the offering of Milk to Shivlinga and Chadar in mosque. As baba said PR asks questions about Hajj and also talks about Muslim/Christian teachings. So OMG loks a more balanced film. In PK also they try to follow every religion but when it comes to pointing wrong practices they concentrate only on Hinduism.

          • sputnik 9 years ago

“In these scenes only the muslim/christian relgious practices are shown and the wrong one’s have not been questioned. In OMG presh rawal questions both the offering of Milk to Shivlinga and Chadar in mosque.”

Baba said if a Hindu told some Muslim guy the same thing as Paresh Rawal did in OMG about Haj he would get smacked. Now if a Hindu guy tried entering a mosque with wine will they smack him or not? They will probably be Hindu Muslim riots. So this wasn’t some ordinary religious practice scene.

In the Church scene the priest says “Jesus died for your sins” and PK says but “I have not committed any sin.” which mocked Christian’s basic belief that Jesus died for everyone’s sins.

No one has so far pointed me to the exact scene where PK questions offering milk to Shiv ling. Even if it is there that’s almost the same dialogue from OMG? If Hindus did not have a problem with that dialogue in OMG why do they have a problem with that same dialogue in PK? Since it also questioned Chadar in Dargah it makes it better? Pointing a wrong in another religion does not make the wrong in one’s religion go away or make that wrong right. Does it?

OMG did not show offering Chadar in mosque. Chadars are offered in Dargahs and OMG criticized that. And according to Islam going to Dargah is Shirk (Sin) just as idol worship is and most Muslims don’t go to Dargahs. So when OMG criticized a Dargah practice it wasn’t criticizing anything Islamic. Why do you think the ISIS is bombing Muslim religious tombs in Iraq? Link

I already said “Forget showing anything similar to that Shiva scene with a Muslim religious figure or God. Even if they do as much as depict a Muslim religious figure on screen there could be huge trouble.”

You mentioned today’s attack on the cartoonists as the reason why Raju Hirani did not criticize any Muslim religious practices.

PK criticized that very act of killing to protect their God or prophet. The train bombing is done by Muslim terrorists in the movie as PK says “Aaj koi apne Khuda Ki Raksha kar raha tha aur humare dost ka sirf jhoota rah gaya” and even Saurabh Shukla says Muslims bomb the train and you are lecturing a Hindu Baba. What does PK say in response? He says “Apne Apne bhagwan ki raksha karna band karo, warna is gola me insaan nahi bas joota reh jayega”.

Saying PK borrows heavily from OMG or PK’s second half is bad are valid criticisms of PK. But all these are all silly criticisms of PK.

Khuda Kay Liye the Pakistani movie criticized only Muslim religious practices. It did not criticize any other religion’s practices. So it is not balanced and should have bashed Hindu/Christian practices too?

PK could have completely avoided even those token scenes from other religions. Hirani could have shown that PK would run only into people who would say “Bhagwan/Ram hi jaane” and he would search for the Hindu Gods (Bhagwan/Ram) only.

As I said before “OMG would have got bashed and those right wing organizations would have protested against it the same way if Aamir or any Muslim actor starred in PK specially if they played Paresh Rawal’s role.”

          • sputnik 9 years ago

And the scenes in OMG on other religions were also blink and miss scenes.

“the court scene where he takes on all 3 religons through the religous texts is a decisive one, one of the most important scenes of the film.”

Anyone can find some verses in any religion which say the same thing and those were not critical of any religion.

“a bad one sided film will be mocked and opposed. srk played a muslim in mnik yet he was mocked by everyone.”

Mocked and opposed by whom? The religious bigots who did not like the movie because it was about a good Muslim lead character or the ones who were against it because it was not about a Kashmiri Pandit or the ones who hate anything that has SRK in it?

MNIK did not bash any other religions (as far as I remember) and it showed a Hindu woman married to a Muslim who was still practicing her Hindu religious rituals. It showed a Muslim lead character confronting a Muslim fanatic who was inciting people to violence and that Muslim lead character even reports that Muslim fanatic to the FBI unlike another 9/11 movie where the lead actress knows her husband is plotting a terrorist attack but doesn’t confront or report till another character says he will help protect him.

          • Baba 9 years ago

“Anyone can find some verses in any religion which say the same thing and those were not critical of any religion.”

if pk had find verses from all religious texts which mention not using idols and images of God, it wud have become as great as OMG.for me atleast.

” The religious bigots who did not like the movie because it was about a good Muslim lead character”

no,it was the ppl who do not like one-sided view. those who do not like a retarded lead in a sensitive topic. those who do not appreciate stupid Mama jenny and ham honge kamyab crap like srk fanatics. those who do not like one sided sympathy victim card playing films like haider and shahid. those who show such relgious bigots the mirror who dislike/dont care a film which shows army in good light(holiday) and deal with nationalism.

          • sputnik 9 years ago

“if pk had find verses from all religious texts which mention not using idols and images of God, it wud have become as great as OMG.for me atleast.”

Using verses from any religious books is still validating those religions. PK did not validate any of those religions. He keeps asking “Tappa dikhaun” and says that there is a God people have made implying all the existing religions as man made.

“no,it was the ppl who do not like one-sided view. those who do not like a retarded lead in a sensitive topic.”

Yeah but they like the retarded so called actress Katrina Kaif in a romantic triangular love story cum thriller New York which plays the Muslim victim card where the innocent Muslim lead gets arrested and he becomes a terrorist.

“those who do not appreciate stupid Mama jenny and ham honge kamyab crap like srk fanatics.”

I have criticized stupid Mama Jenny scenes and the whole Hurricane scenes. Finding commonality using Hum Honge Kamyab is the same thing as finding commonality using same religious verses.

“those who do not like one sided sympathy victim card playing films like haider and shahid. those who do not like one sided sympathy victim card playing films like haider and shahid. those who show such relgious bigots the mirror who dislike/dont care a film which shows army in good light(holiday) and deal with nationalism.”

Have not seen Holiday so cannot comment on it. Nationalism is also similar to religion. Thinking one’s country is never wrong or thinking one’s army never does anything wrong is also similar nonsense. Without even researching the origins of the Kashmir issue and thinking India is completely right on it is also nonsense. And hating a movie just because it questioned one’s country or army is also same silly response. I have never seen or heard anyone call Roja or Mission Kashmir one sided.

Rajkumar Hirani on comparisons with OMG Oh My God and what they had to change

Rajkumar Hirani On PK Controversy, Anti-Fakeness In All Religions

Raju Hirani is saying same things I said in my comments. He mentions Khuda Kay Liye too :smug:

      • Baba 9 years ago

excellent interview.thanks for posting these spuntik. loved the second video the most. i think with with original second half he could have made a very interesting film. he shudnt have worried about inception comparison. also noted that he said he was “scared” to make kanji-vs-kanji (the story of OMG) and that he limited himself “communal harmony” instead.now this is what i had said in my coments :smug:

      • Baba 9 years ago

his excuse for changing the second half doesnt sound convinving. looks like he had made it up to cover the bad second half. i mean why would hirani worry to be called an inception copy when there are so many accusations of pk being a copy/inspired from OMG? certainly closer to inception would not be that much of a “prestige” issue.

        • sputnik 9 years ago

I don’t think changing bad memories part would have worked. They probably couldn’t execute it.

I think PK was pretty much going to be like OMG with the court case and all. So they changed the 2nd half and added communal harmony angle to avoid being completely like OMG.

          • Baba 9 years ago

i liked hiranis idea about ” a person is a sum total of his experiences”. he says he had writtena very funny script about how aamir goes into someones past and changes his experience. certainly a better sounding second half that indo-pak unity crap.

  17. Reddemon 9 years ago

And one more point i forgot to mention….

Aamir Khan goes for Hajj Yatra and spends Lakhs of Money and bashes Wrong Reigious practices and earns crores. Isn’t visiting spending money on hajj yatra as waste as offering Milk to Shivlinga?

  18. Baba 9 years ago

@reddemon – PK showed practices from different religions only in one song bhagwan kahan hai tu and that was the highpoint of the film. Some aamir fans think i am dissing the movie only because it failed to give answers like OMG did. thats not the case. The movie would have been a masterpiece if it had just stuck to its topic – does God exist instead of just conveniently accepting what the tapasvi says and just blaming the rituals. thats an easy way out. and the whole climax revolves around a stupid “indo-pak” angle and letter confusion in the age of whatsapp and facebook. sushant calls pak embassy to know if there is a call from anushka or not . abey facebook pe usko dhoodnh aur ping maar! koi kitna chuitya hoga jo seedhe embassy ko phone laga de contact karne ke liye is duniya mien.

    • Reddemon 9 years ago

Yes Bhagwan kaha hai tu song was the highpoint and raised my expectation for so much more. but after that there was only hindu bashing.
yes even i was disappointed with the climax of PK. Indo-Pak angle just showed that either the makers ran out of ideas or wanted to play safe. OMG had an epic climax where Sadhu’s declares Kanji as God thus trying to banish whatever Kanji fought for but Kanji rises above personal glory and stands by his act.

But nothing happened of that sort and PK being an alien RKH could have done so much more. But i think midway through the film he thought enough of this shit now lets sign Ranbir Kapoor and move on to our next.

      • Baba 9 years ago

” OMG had an epic climax where Sadhu’s declares Kanji as God thus trying to banish whatever Kanji fought for but Kanji rises above personal glory and stands by his act.”

completely agreed. but if you see , there are four climaxes within the climax in OMG as rightly pointed by suprabh in his omg review

        Good choice Babaji…

Here’s what I wrote in my review

        ******SPOILERS*********
I loved the last 10 minutes of the film a lot. It was almost like the film had 4 quick climaxes in succession:
        1) When Paresh makes the junta realizes about how they are going from one god to another
        2) When Mithun talks about god loving vs god fearing people
        3) When God makes Paresh realizes that he is insider everyone and he should not look for a specific form for a god
        4) When God makes paresh realizes that a locket (even though it was held by god himself) does not mean , anything. Its the truth he should hold onto, not a locket.

        • sputnik 9 years ago

” OMG had an epic climax where Sadhu’s declares Kanji as God thus trying to banish whatever Kanji fought for but Kanji rises above personal glory and stands by his act.”

Yes that was a very good scene and it has some history the way Buddha was incorporated as a God into Hinduism and the way Mahavira is worshiped even though Mahavira said there is no God.

I don’t like the whole Paresh getting paralyzed and getting magically healed scenes. There was no need for those scenes.

          • Baba 9 years ago

what did you think of the climax scene where akshay takes paresh on his motorbike making paresh sit behind him from the hospital and while passing through the road, camera focuses on a small idol of krishna riding arjun on a chariot? that scene was PURE CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE

  19. Reddemon 9 years ago

Got the answer why Raj Kumar Hirani did not messed up with Muslims. Here it is

PARIS: Some of the best-known cartoonists in France were among the 12 killed when gunmen stormed the office of satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris on Wednesday, a judicial source said.

Editor-in-chief Stephane Charbonnier, known as Charb, and the cartoonists known as Cabu, Tignous and Wolinski were killed in the attack on the paper, which gained notoriety for repeatedly publishing caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed

pk is shown to be smart in the film. can he not see that it was just a normal guy dressed as shiva in a play? even the stage was nearby. how can a smart man mistake someone as “real shiva” just bcos he is dressed like that? it would have been fine if aamir was intentionally mocking that guy as shiva and chasing him. but thinking of him as “real god” and chasing him is stupid and in bad taste.the scene after that he is in tears and is singing praises for him on mic that he found his locket due to real shiva. its a really stupid sequence.i didnt find it funny at all

    • Baba 9 years ago

the worst thing is the hypocrisy of spuntik at display.on one hand he pretends how he is an atheist but will even support an aamir khan film (which he didnt like) just bcos some hindu groups are against a muslim lead.

  20. Baba 9 years ago

“if a Hindu guy tried entering a mosque with wine will they smack him or not? ”

aamir khan is not a hindu in pk and he isnt shown entering a mosque. he is on the road.

“OMG criticized a Dargah practice it wasn’t criticizing anything Islamic. ”

OMG didnt critisice anything good about any religion. that includes hindu and christians. it only critised the bad aspects in all of them.that is why its a better fim. pk mocked shiva just for some cheap laughs and i have expained above how stupid that scene is.

““Aaj koi apne Khuda Ki Raksha kar raha tha aur humare dost ka sirf jhoota rah gaya” ”

is this critical or in support of the muslim viewpoint? he is justfying the bomb blast saying muslims did that for “protecting their relgion”. and then there are elaborate scenes how “muslaman dhoka nahi deta” and the cheesy sugarycoated pak embassy scenes .

“Khuda Kay Liye the Pakistani movie criticized only Muslim religious practices.”

it is a pakistani film made for pakistanis which is a muslim country. Though india has 80% hindus its dynamics are not like pak. here you have to keep a balance.

    • sputnik 9 years ago

“aamir khan is not a hindu in pk and he isnt shown entering a mosque. he is on the road.”

I can’t believe I have to spell this out. The scenes were about how one thing which is good in one religion and used to please that God is considered bad in another religion. He goes to church with the coconut. They obviously did not have the guts to show Aamir entering the mosque with wine but I don’t remember the corresponding scene in the Hindu temple where he took some Muslim/Christian thing there.

“OMG didnt critisice anything good about any religion. that includes hindu and christians. it only critised the bad aspects in all of them.”

OMG and PK both criticized the Hindu religious practices majorly with some token Muslim/Christian scenes. OMG criticized the Hindu idol worship part and the Hindu Babas (the 3 main villains) but it also had Krishna the Hindu God in it so its kind of having your cake and eating it too. PK on the other hand doesn’t support any one religious God. Even at the end he says if someone says he can help you talk to God make a u turn and run away.

“that is why its a better fim. pk mocked shiva just for some cheap laughs and i have expained above how stupid that scene is.”

I was the first one here who said that the Shiva scene was in bad taste. And I was very critical of PK and I called it just a decent movie. OMG is obviously a better film and I haven’t said anywhere that PK is a better film than OMG.

PK is more ambitious on the religion/God front in the first half but it did not have the guts to go in that direction. That’s what I said in my comments.

“Its a decent movie. There are some funny scenes but nothing hilarious. Some of the questions that Aamir’s character asks are funny and very good. The questioning of religious practices and questioning whether there is a God part is very similar to Oh My God. In fact some of the dialogues felt like they were just rephrased a bit.

The movie gets serious in between and it starts to raise some very good questions about religion and existence of God but then it doesn’t have the guts to go in the direction it was going. ”

“I think Raju Hirani wanted to say that all the existing religions are man made and that their God/Gods are not real but he did not have the guts to go with that message. He hints at that message many times like the way he says why would God want his children to do all sorts of stuff to appease him in order for him to help them.”

‘““Aaj koi apne Khuda Ki Raksha kar raha tha aur humare dost ka sirf jhoota rah gaya” ”

is this critical or in support of the muslim viewpoint? he is justfying the bomb blast saying muslims did that for “protecting their relgion”. ‘

What BS? He is justifying the bomb blast? He says “Apne Apne Bhagwan ki raksha karna band karo” It is Apne Apne Bhagwan meaning all Gods of all religions not just Hinduism.

“and then there are elaborate scenes how “muslaman dhoka nahi deta” and the cheesy sugarycoated pak embassy scenes .”

I already criticized the second half in my comment.

“So the movie goes offtrack and hits at a soft target – a self styled Baba who is somewhat anti Muslim (based on his dialogues) and there is a message of Hindu Muslim unity which almost makes it feel cliche. I think there was no need for Sushant’s character to be a Pakistani. He could have been a Indian Muslim and the movie could have had the same plot.”

“it is a pakistani film made for pakistanis which is a muslim country. Though india has 80% hindus its dynamics are not like pak. here you have to keep a balance.”

That is why there were some token scenes of Muslims/Christians in both OMG and PK and the majority of both OMG and PK deals with the Hindu religion as 80% are Hindus. And if we go by religious dynamics and the way people get offended in India then PK and OMG should not have criticized any other religion’s practices at all as the writers/directors were Hindus. And I already said “The only way to be smart about it in India is for a Muslim actor not to act in a movie mocking Hindu religious rituals. And any Hindu/Christian/Sikh/etc actor will have to not act in a movie which mocks religious rituals of any other religion other than his own.”

  21. Baba 9 years ago

“Using verses from any religious books is still validating those religions. PK did not validate any of those religions. ”

validating good things from texts like dont make image of god is welcome. the basis of all relgions are their texts. you have to quote versus from them to convince believers where they are going wrong. just dismissing everything and saying everything is crap is the work of a fool and it will only receive brickbats.

“retarded so called actress Katrina Kaif in a romantic triangular love story cum thriller New York”

no one was retarded in new york. its a serious film with a serious tone with no stupid lipsync songs. it has good to great acting from the leads. and it is not one sided and it doesnt play victim card. in the climax irfan mentions “sab apni jagah sahi the”

“Thinking one’s country is never wrong or thinking one’s army never does anything wrong is also similar nonsense.”

only a religous bigot wil say something venomous like this about his country.

    • sputnik 9 years ago

“validating good things from texts like dont make image of god is welcome. the basis of all relgions are their texts. you have to quote versus from them to convince believers where they are going wrong.”

And what about the verses that contradict those verses. Just ignore them?

So what was your issue with the American “We will overcome” and its Indian inspired “Hum Honge Kamyaab” version?

” its a serious film with a serious tone with no stupid lipsync songs.”

There were songs in New York too and there were no stupid lip sync songs even in MNIK.

“it has good to great acting from the leads. ”

      Who Katrina Kaif LOL

“and it is not one sided and it doesnt play victim card.”

I already mentioned how it played victim card.

‘in the climax irfan mentions “sab apni jagah sahi the””‘

So torturing innocent people was alright as “Halaat Kharaab The”.

First of all most of the 1200 people who were detained by FBI (which New York mentions) were immigrants not US citizens and John was playing a US citizen in it.

“In the days after the World Trade Center Attacks, 1,200 Middle Eastern immigrants nationwide were picked up by the Immigration and Naturalization service — now folded into the Homeland Security Department. At least 84 of these detainees were held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Some were detained for months under a so-called “hold until cleared” policy. The policy permitted Muslim and Arab non-citizens to be arrested and held in custody until cleared by the FBI.” Link

This link talks about a US citizen who was arrested and detained by FBI but he did not become a terrorist because of that. Instead “Al-Kidd has separately reached settlements with Virginia, Oklahoma and Idaho jail officials over his treatment. A federal judge in Oklahoma ruled the strip searches al-Kidd endured at the federal jail in Oklahoma City “were objectively unreasonable and violated the Fourth Amendment.” Link

“the worst thing is the hypocrisy of spuntik at display.on one hand he pretends how he is an atheist but will even support an aamir khan film (which he didnt like) just bcos some hindu groups are against a muslim lead.”

how is it hypocrisy? Hypocrisy would be me supporting any Muslim religious groups who were opposing PK or any other movie which was critical of Islam.

“paresh was a hindu who commented on muslims how they should go about their religious things.”

Paresh was also a atheist when he was commenting on Muslims. And PK was a alien not a Hindu/Muslim/Christian/Sikh too.

“OMG critised the idol worship part which is NOT a part of hinduism.”

Majority of Hindus today practice idol worship whether it was originally a part of Hinduism or not. So why are the Hindu groups so offended by PK for mocking idol worship and not OMG? They are the ones who are hypocrites.

“why are you so anxious about hindu groups attacking the film bcos aamir is a muslim? let them deal with each other. you are an atheist. just watch it and have fun”

Someone repeated the same points here that those Hindu groups were using on twitter and I just responded to that. I am not going on twitter and Facebook and defending PK against those Hindu groups.

Anyway I was attacking the silly criticisms of PK. Like I said before “Saying PK borrows heavily from OMG or PK’s second half is bad are valid criticisms of PK. But all these are all silly criticisms of PK.” I am not supporting PK against those valid criticisms of PK.

“only a religous bigot wil say something venomous like this about his country.”

There is no point in even attempting to argue with someone so simple minded who thinks his country can do wrong and that it is venomous to even suggest that.

  22. Baba 9 years ago

” The scenes were about how one thing which is good in one religion and used to please that God is considered bad in another religion”

but omg went beyond that. paresh was a hindu who commented on muslims how they should go about their religious things.

” OMG criticized the Hindu idol worship part and the Hindu Babas (the 3 main villains) but it also had Krishna the Hindu God in it so its kind of having your cake and eating it too”

OMG critised the idol worship part which is NOT a part of hinduism. he didnt critise “hinduism”. and why to critise any relgion for the heck of it? everyone has his way of life. you have to give them that space unless it is harming anyone or someone is making money out of commercialisation of religion. then it is necssary to critise . thats what omg does.

PK also conditioned itself to critising the rituals but in its second half it becomes directionless and doesnt have its own original ground.and it fails to convince the believers why they are wrong.

” I haven’t said anywhere that PK is a better film than OMG”

why are you so anxious about hindu groups attacking the film bcos aamir is a muslim? let them deal with each other. you are an atheist. just watch it and have fun

“And what about the verses that contradict those verses. Just ignore them?”

show me those verses and quote authentic sources

    “Who Katrina Kaif LOL”

she is a better actor than srk

“So torturing innocent people was alright as “Halaat Kharaab The”.”

    was 9/11 alright?

“Hypocrisy would be me supporting any Muslim religious groups who were opposing PK or any other movie which was critical of Islam.”

hypocrisy is you, as a self-proclaimed agnostic/atheist, showing any kind of concern for two ppl fighting on a bullshit called religion. let them fight, you sit back and sip your coffee. you are being proved right. why bother?

“So why are the Hindu groups so offended by PK for mocking idol worship and not OMG?”

that is why quoting religious text was necessary. you have to show them the mirror.

“There is no point in even attempting to argue with someone so simple minded who thinks his country can do wrong”

country can never be wrong. some ppl can be wrong. but country and the spirit of natinalism can NEVER be wrong. anyone who says nationalism is bullshit is venomenous and a threat to the country

Paresh Rawal quotes verses from Bhagwad Gita, Quran and Bible to show that God is responsible for everything and to prove that God is responsible for the destruction of his shop. I don’t think or at least don’t remember him quoting verses against Idol worship.

“she is a better actor than srk”

LOL SRK overacts mostly but when he acts on rare occasions he can be very good. Calling Katrina an actress is an insult to acting. She is more a mannequin or Barbie doll. Even in New York she was bad in the emotional scenes.

      “was 9/11 alright?”

Who said 9/11 was alright? Going after terrorists/Taliban is completely right. But torturing innocent people who have no links to terrorism is wrong. They need to have proper checks and balances so that it does not happen. And in the odd case that it does they need to punish the culprits and compensate the innocent people.

The US did punish some of their soldiers at least on the lower level in Abu Ghraib torture case and they did apologize or made settlements in at least some cases of illegal detention. Now just like any other country the bigger fish the politicians or higher ups will get away.

The link that I had posted above said “the government apologized to or reached monetary settlements with at least 13 people, according to a report by civil liberties groups.”

This “Halat Kharab The” is same excuse as action reaction theory. If New York had showed John fighting a case against US for his illegal detention and winning it instead of becoming a terrorist in the usual Bollywood way then I would have liked that movie.

The U.S. agreed to pay this Egyptian Man $300K For Post-9/11 Detention in 2006. Link So Kabir Khan could have definitely taken his story as an inspiration.

“hypocrisy is you, as a self-proclaimed agnostic/atheist, showing any kind of concern for two ppl fighting on a bullshit called religion. let them fight, you sit back and sip your coffee. you are being proved right. why bother?”

I have no concern for them and as I said I am not wasting my time arguing with them on twitter or FB. I just responded to a comment here.

“country can never be wrong. some ppl can be wrong. but country and the spirit of natinalism can NEVER be wrong. anyone who says nationalism is bullshit is venomenous and a threat to the country”

Country is comprised of people and there are good and bad people in every country. Politicians who rule a country are mostly bad in almost every country. Nationalism or love for one’s country is good but then one should not get blinded by it or believe whatever the govt or politicians tell. One should always research on any issue because things aren’t always so simple or one sided as these politicians make it out to be.

” I don’t think or at least don’t remember him quoting verses against Idol worship.”

paresh quoted verses which were relevant to his case. aamir should have quoted verses which were backing his arguments.

“LOL SRK overacts mostly but when he acts on rare occasions he can be very good”

when was the last time that rare occasion came? katrina is very good in NY, znmd, NL , bang bang, ett.

“things aren’t always so simple or one sided as these politicians make it out to be”

things are also not the way haider portrays it to be

Kudos to the way Akshay played the role of a Krishna.

        But Aamir was not less.

About the movies comparisons – the debate will continue forever !

There are nearly atleast a dozen films released in India on the same thing and concept. So inspired from OMG is not correct.

Deva Tula Shodhu Kuthe Song from Marathi Movie Deool

      • Baba 9 years ago

the picturisation of this song doesnt suggest that OMG or pk was inspired from this while there is a striking resemblance of OMG and pk with the practices and commerce around religion is shown

    suprabh bajpai:
“Mai toh nahi hoon insaano mein
Bikta hoon mai in dukaano mein
    Duniya banayi Maine haathon se
    Mitti se nahi ..jazbaaton se
    Phir raha hoon dhoodta
    Mere nishaan”
This song from omg is so true
“Tere hi saaya ban ke tere saath chala mai
Jab dhoop aayi tere sar pe toh chhaon bana mein”
Reverse this song.. And you’ll get bhagwaan hai kahan re tu song.. Which is also very good.
In mere nishaan bhagwaan is singing and saying I’m everywhere
While in bhagwaan hai kahan re tu..pk is asking where are you
