Haven’t watched a single nominated movie yet.

Tried to watch La La Land but did not because its a musical and I don’t like musicals. Will try again to see how much of it I can stand.

    My prediction for this year

Best film -LA LA land /Moonlight
Personally I would like Manchester by the sea to win .But looks unlikely . La la land win looks inevitable unless moonlight pulls of a surprise . Moonlight’s genre is Oscar friendly.
    Best director-Damien Chazelle
Don’t think the will be any surprise . Chazelle will get a well deserved Oscar .
    Best Actor-Casey Affleck
Another almost certain category .No one deserves it more .There’s an outside chance of Denzel pulling off a surprise due to Affleck’s recent controversy .
    Best Actress-Emma Stone
Haven’t seen Elle . Looks like Isabelle Huppert is the only one standing between Emma and oscar . But I think Emma stone will end up winning . She has done very well in La la so no complaints here.
Best original screenplay-Manchester by the sea/LA LA land
Both equally deserve it . I hope they split .
    Best adapted screenplay-Moonlight
Well deserved .Don’t think any one else is in contention.
    Best supporting actor-Mahershala Ali
Lucas Hedges was freat but I think Ali deserves it .
    Best supporting actress-Viola Davis
    Certain
    Best Song/Original score-La LA land,City of stars
    Certain.
    Best Cinematography-La LA land
Some brilliant works in the contention . But Its going to be La la land .
Best foreign language film-A man called Ovee /Toni Eardmann
Unless oscar decides to go political and award Asgar Farhadi , Eardmann or Ovee looks certain to win . Eardmann is getting a Hollywood remake.
