    NH10 HAS CENSOR BOARD DIVIDED

    https://www.mumbaimirror.com/entertainment/bollywood/NH10-has-censor-board-divided/articleshow/46436407.cms

There is a split in the Examining Committee over NH10 and its possible certification.

Anushka Sharma-starrer, NH10, which marks the debut of the actress as a producer, was also screened for the CBFC on Monday. And this time too there was a split in the Examining Committee. According to a source present at the screening, some members were ready to pass it with a few cuts and an Adult certificate but others weren’t sure whether the film is fit for public consumption and if it should be certified at all.

The film’s director, Navdeep Singh, told Mirror, “I have not been informed about what cuts they want. All I know is that some members found it too violent and didn’t care for the abusive language. We didn’t have a very long discussion. All I was told was that it would be referred to the Chairperson for a final decision.”

Given that the film has already been pushed forward by a week from March 6 to March 13, are the makers now under pressure to make certain creative compromises? “At the moment I’m really confused about what’s happening. I don’t know what they are objecting to or what cuts they are recommending. I finally got a date for the screening from them after two cancellations. As of now, we have not been informed of any decision but are hoping to hear from them tomorrow. As long as the integrity of the story, characters and setting is not compromised, I’m okay. ”

Anushka Sharma added, “We have made a very good film and I’m confident of the content. In fact, we’re surprised about the delay and contemplation over the film.”

When Mirror got in touch with the Chairperson, he said that he hadn’t seen either of the films. He pointed out that according to the procedure he does not have to sit for any screenings with the Examining Committee. “If there is a difference of opinion amongst the members then they can refer the film to me and after that either the makers can take it to the Revising Committee directly or I could refer the film to the RC,” he pointed out. And would he sit in on the Revising Committee screening? “That’s my choice,” he retorted.

And what is his personal take on whether these films should be released? “I can’t say since I haven’t read the script or seen the films. The files should come to me tomorrow with the recommendations of the board and after that we’ll take a call on further action,” he stated.

Why do these morons even come outta their homes, there are many bad things almost everywhere. They should just sit at their own home and watch Sanskar & Aastha tv channels.

      • sputnik 9 years ago

        Agree.

The article says “others weren’t sure whether the film is fit for public consumption and if it should be certified at all”

Wow. They probably think Indian audiences are all 3 years old.

    • sputnik 9 years ago

The movie has got an A certificate. Anushka says that the censors passed it with one visual cut and some audio cuts.

The issue is there is a certain crowd in Bollywood who can ‘only’ survive due to sensationalism.
Now with internet and all sorts of media outlet any and every story is getting reported and this is what this untalented lot want.

Hang on to the big names , big controversies and remain relevant. The only thing this bunch does with honesty is copy ideas from Hollywood and not come up with any original stuff.

The talent is to remain relevant within the realms and do something which people can sit up and notice.

There are many ways to put your point across and these morons want to just do what USA and Europe is doing. They don’t realize we remain vastly an uneducated and immature society and just aping the west blindly is not the answer to solving issues. We need local remedies and not some western imported crap these indie filmmakers bring to us. India needs 100 plus years to mature and develop as a nation like USA or Germany.

    • MGT 9 years ago

on another note I am becoming a fan of this talented Khan. Bravo interview

      https://www.mumbaimirror.com/entertainment/bollywood/My-reaction-was-more-emotional-than-moralistic/articleshow/46448704.cms

‘Also, we need to move with the times. Today, even the biggest of blockbusters like 3 Idiots or P.K. (content which is censored) is watched in the theatres by only 3 per cent of the population of India, while 60-70 per cent of the population, with mobile connectivity even in remote areas, has access to uncensored content on their smart phones. In this fast-changing scenario, censorship has become redundant. I feel the Rating System would serve our filmmakers and audience better.’

      Bravo !!

      • MGT 9 years ago

And a perfect reply to that ABCD Russel Peters:

“And when someone uses the words “shut up”, it makes me believe that these people are certainly not a part of the group that is for freedom of speech”.

Could not have said it better and good he did not take that morons name as this would keep him in undue limelight.

        Plus this :

” It’s unfortunate that caught between the rightwing fascists and the ‘no-holdsbarred’ faction, the moderates are in danger of losing their voice. I’m aware that if you sign up for the Roast, you sign up to insult each other. But, in this case, even those who hadn’t signed up were being targeted, like Farida Jalal, Reema Lagoo and a beautiful, young girl I love dearly. ”

        Clap worthy !!!

      • sputnik 9 years ago

Initially when he said the AIB roast was violent he did not mention anything about Reema Lagoo or Farida Jalal or Salman’s sister. Now he is trying to hide behind them as everyone thrashed him for his hypocrisy.

Lets forget vulgar or abusive language for a second. If we take this consent to the next level nobody should make fun of anybody publicly if they did not agree to it. Standup comedians usually make fun of stars and their mannerisms. Cricketers are made fun of too. Cartoonists regularly mock politicians. Did these cartoonists or comedians take permission of the politician or stars or cricketers before mocking them? So next time anyone makes a joke on any star or politician or cricketer he should have a permission letter for that joke signed by that celeb.

““And when someone uses the words “shut up”, it makes me believe that these people are certainly not a part of the group that is for freedom of speech”.

He should have given that advice to Vidhu Vinod Chopra who famously yelled Shut Up in a press conference sitting right next to him.

    All fair points Sputnik.

You are wrong on that since jokes/ comedy have been made are being made and will continue to be made and I doubt Aamir or anyone has ever objected to that. Everyday on each channel this is the avg comedy show these days. No one has any beef and though mostly unfunny it dies its own death.

Have you seen the roast ? This was totally different level of comedy where abuses were the only thing getting hurled at. On top of that there were all kinds of violent overtures and somebody inserting 10 dicks in kjo arse and 20 dicks in parineeti chopra’s cunt piece. there were all sorts of chuuthh and cunt jokes and basically very violently told with all sorts of gesticulations and physical body language.

Thankfully Arpita’s section which i assume were racist due to her skin color were removed. Aamir saw the unedited version kjo showed him at ranbir’s party.

    • MGT 9 years ago

Have you ever reasoned yourself why Comedy Nights with Kapil is so popular and not other TV shows.

Even he makes jokes on anyone and everyone but there is a way he presents them which are not only funny but also digested by everybody.

The reason CNWK broke rating records is because his show is very Indian and jokes are original.

Do you watch Comedy Class on Life OK. These idiots are so unfunny and go to any length to insult big stars like Big B and others but no one has objected to that.

      • MGT 9 years ago

Why doesn’t AIB come with a original show on the politicians with all these abuses as they are the first ones who really deserve these abuses in the first place.

Answer is never – they don’t have the balls !!

Get a show on Bal Thackrey or Udhav Thackrey they will butcher you on the streets of Mumbai like the young individual was recently done after he liked some post on FB

They will only target the weak and helpless.

    • sputnik 9 years ago

Yes I saw the roast and it was done the same way the other roasts of Pamela Anderson and so on were done with abusive language and insults.

“On top of that there were all kinds of violent overtures and somebody inserting 10 dicks in kjo arse and 20 dicks in parineeti chopra’s cunt piece. there were all sorts of chuuthh and cunt jokes and basically very violently told with all sorts of gesticulations and physical body language.”

That’s what a roast is where abusive, crude, vulgar jokes are told. Its not meant to be taken literally. Don’t start imagining what they said to be actually happening in real.

“Thankfully Arpita’s section which i assume were racist due to her skin color were removed.”

They were lot of jokes on Ashish Shakya’s dark color too who was one of the stand up comedians from AIB. That Arpita joke was edited out because they were scared of Salman so can’t comment on it without seeing or hearing it.

“Aamir saw the unedited version kjo showed him at ranbir’s party.”

Aamir did not see the show. He said he “heard” the jokes from the show from KJO and Arjun Kapoor.

Russel Peters is absolutely right in asking Aamir to “Shut Up” because he criticized the show without even watching it. When Vinod Chopra was asked about the Chetan Bhagat claims for 3I he said “Shut Up” to the journalist because he asked him a question without even reading the book.

I already said in my post itself that AIB did not have the balls to stand up for their own stand up comedy show as they went and apologized to that Christian organization. They edited out the Arpita joke because they were scared of Salman. They took off the show from youtube. So they obviously do not have the guts to go after politicians.

Comedy Nights with Kapil is a very popular show and I have seen a couple of episodes and I did not like it much. Some of the jokes are funny but it has lot of old school comedy which involves regressive and lame jokes like a male dressed in drag or constantly insulting the wife, her parents and so on. Some people can call the show a MCP show too and that it condones verbally harassing the wife. One can take offense at anything and ask to ban anything. The whole point is that one can’t impose their moral values and judgements on everyone else. For any show or movie they will be some who like it and some who don’t.

Had not seen Comedy Class on Life OK before but I just saw a clip and it was not funny at all. It looks like a knock off of Comedy Nights with Kapil. The clip I saw involved a Pakistani comedian. I have to say this I don’t find Pakistani comedians funny at all. Their jokes are mostly sexist and regressive from what I have seen on those comedy shows.
