A year after Kolaveri Di, Rahman’s song going viral
This time last year, a Tamil song called Kolaveri Di sung by actor Dhanush took the country by storm. This year, A R Rahman’s Nenjukulle may just do the same.

Nenjukulle, from director Mani Ratnam’s new Tamil movie Kadal, debuted on November 3 in season 2 of MTV India’s Unplugged and is quickly going viral with over 139,000 views on the music channel’s website, 44,000 likes on Facebook and over a 161,000 views on YouTube already.

Awesome song beautiful soft music but I can’t understand it lyrics (Tamil) at all but still loves the song very much.

familier tune. The song is in ilayaraja mould – nice song.
The words and voice strike a chord instantly.

Official Teaser of Elay Keechan from Mani Ratnam’s Kadal

    • Ritz 11 years ago

But bit underwhelming. Not for music but abt teaser. Why is he hiding face of hero – seems like he is in Subhash Ghai mode of launching some hero.

Music sounds good but agree on hiding face and Subhash Ghai comparison.

Elay Keechan Song- The Official Teaser – Kadal

  5. Ritz 11 years ago

    Full song.

Liked it. But it drags in antara. sounds similar 2-3 songs (the starting music I have heard before maybe an english song)

    • sputnik 11 years ago

Don’t even have to go to antara. I got bored in the mukda itself.

Found a comment below the video that the song is inspired by “I’ll fly away” by Alison Krauss.

Yes its similar. But I was talking abt another song…let me find it..

Maybe it was song Kenny Rogers song but cant recall now.

The anatar sounds like “sajra savere mere tan barse” type

The song is total mistmatch for the movie it is made. (Hoped he would do good somewhat due to Mani…but thats not the case here)

The sounds are total contrast to the rustic background of the story is supposed to be against (based on fishermen of TN) Bad choice of instruments – sounds totally studio sound …not natural.

But its Rahman. So kind of expected this.
