Check out the song “Na Kajre Ki Dhar” originally sung by Mukesh. The music was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji and lyrics by Indeevar and is from a shelved movie. Viju Shah, who is the son of Kalyanji reused the same song in Mohra.
Thanks to BobbyTalksCinema.com for the info.
And here is the song from Mohra sung by Pankaj Udhas and Sadhana Sargam.

Wow! great info Sputnik. No wonder I loved this song.
I am a die-hard Talat, Mukesh, Kishore and Hemant fan. Nothing against other singers!
I am mahendra kapoor fan 😀
@Baba
What about Manna Dey.
Lovely song Sputnik but I liked Mukesh version.
Great find sputnik!! This is my fav song from mohra .I always wondered how could a Viju shah make suh classic melody.now its clear 😀
Baba ji I like many Mahendra Kapoor songs but mostly when he sang for late Ravi.
His problem was when he went for Manoj Kumar films, he just lost control (especially towards Kranti). His best songs are from Humraaz, Dhartiputra, Nikaah etc.
But yet again when Ravi composed for him for BR Chopra films like Nikaah he was back to his best!
agreed totally.
When I heard songs like ‘Dil Ki Yeh aarzoo Hai’ and ‘Tere Pyaar Ki Tamanna’ from BR films like Nikaah & Tawaaif, I just wondered where this MK was for the last 15 years.
Unfortunately he himself never realized it and sang songs like Ya halla and Hera Pheri for Prakash Mehra.
Aryan Manna Dey was a great singer, especially when he sang for classical numbers. No one better than him for that. Not that he could not sing other type of songs. Unfortunately he got slotted.
His last (and what a song) was from a film Goonj (Jo Goonje Wohi Dil Ki Aawaaz Hai).
@Tango
I didnt say Manna Dey was a bad singer I am just joking with Baba.

Like Manna Dey in “Ye Raat bheegi bheegi,ye mast fizayein”.
Thanks guys.
@Tango,
Agree with you that Mahendra Kapoor was at his best when singing for Ravi. Check this old post on Ravi.
Beautiful song, and this rendition is much better than Mohra (all though I like that one too).
Here’s a fun fact about the mohra version: (I read this from the actual book about 10-12 years back)
A sikh guy from punjab has heard “Na kajre ki dhaar” thousands of time (I dont remember the exact count) non-stop.
Baba also told me the same about the record. Its strange.
I have heard “Humari Saanson Me aaj Tak ” by Mehendi almost more than 300 times in a single day.Yes not continuously.But while my PG preparations I used to listen it throughout the day on my N73 back then.But yes 1000 times continuously is a bit insane!
BTW,If anyone ever chances to land in Kolkata,then please visit Esplanade/Dharmtalla.Arranghe for a gramophone from some old market or relative.And you can get records of vintage value there by the roadside.
And Sputnik,
Take a bow.This may just be the find of the century by any blogger!
aamitwraj uploaded the video and I found out from Bobby SIngh (whom I credited in the post). They are the ones who deserve the credit not me.
Woww .. what a find. Never knew this. Even i was wondering when Mohra was released that how come VJ come up with this such wonderful Melody, And yes, this old version is much much better. Udhas voice was good in his own right, but somewhere arrangement of instruments in old one was much more soothing.
BTW, do you know Mohammad Rafi recorded only two English songs for his private album ..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmX2BCDocDc (Hum Kaale Hain To Kya Hua)
(Baharon Phool Barsao)
Only just under 100 LP records of these two songs were distributed and yours truly have one . . 🙂
(Basically it was not LP, it was standard disc of two songs only)
Thanks for these videos yakuza. I embedded one song but for the other one embedding is disabled.

Thanks For sharing…Truely wonderful.
I also like Mahnedra Kapoor songs, especially high note ones..
Sputnik, just want to congratulate you for this blog. I came to know about this just around 2 months back and with my observation so far, this is one of much better blog with sensible posts, covering all important Bollywood news and civilized discussions.
Thanks yakuza and good to see you here.
I remember listening to Maine Pyar Kiya songs sung in English in early 90s at my cousin’s place. I found the direct English translation of the songs very funny back then. I don’t think they were sung by original singers though.
I am not sure if these are the same songs that I heard back then but I found one song of Maine Pyar Kiya in English. And then I found Maine Pyar Kiya dubbed in English with English songs. Here is the English song and Maine Pyar Kiya English dubbed version 😉

sputnik – MPK is cheesy film.ddlj was copied from it in second half tho its first half was better.
i disagree here baba ji. DDLJ was not copied frm mpk or hahk. Just the theme was little similar nd the marriage programmes have to be shown as the way it is held in india. So no i dont think they had othr option dear. And the last 20 mins r totally diff imo. As far as copying is concernd wat do u think of govindas hero no. 1
Thanks for sharing the link of my source site as Courtesy.
Cheers for that!
HIS BLESSINGS
are you Bobby singh or Bobby who sings?
Baba,
MPK v/s HAHK v/s DDLJ??
What is your Preference(in Order)?
