Gadar’s first half is inspired/copied from that Shaheed-E-Mohabbat which is supposed to be based on a true story.

Gurdas Mann is a Sikh. He marries a Muslim girl whom he rescues and has a kid. But then they send her back to Pakistan. He goes to pakistan with the kid and there is a court case. Divya Dutta does not admit that she is his wife owing to family pressure. He commits suicide.

The film won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Punjabi at 46th national awards.

Thanks for info spuntik. So gadar is a straight life from the film.Gadar is a bastardized version, original is a true story.I wish gadar had the ending that the original had.It would have been ATD = All Time Disaster 😀

Watched Magadheera. It could have been so much better but the regular south elements ruined everything.

Its not only about Gadar or Magadheera but most of the action movies. Everybody wants to look macho and kick thousands of badass at a time but the creativity is missing.

its a poor copy of 300 . 300 also had OTT action but it is cleaner bcos its a hw film , they have better technology to create more realistic CGI and their sensibilities are subtle.also unlike magadheera, there is no scene where a single person is beating /slashing ppl and the rest watch and admire. its a many-vs-many fight, not a one-to-many like magadheera.choereographing a believable one-to-many fight scene requires briliant direction, skill of the actor and so many other things. it is beyond the capability of our directors.

It’s actually 300 vs an entire army.
