Sampath has got full freedom to experiment and go back to basic melody songs on SJ.Loved – Prasoon Joshi’s lyrics. He is true successsor of Gulzar. Unconventional and yet simple. One drawback for me in this particular song is – while there is a “Dafli” player. The beats are still coming from keyboard mainly. The beats could have been more natual than Techno. (But I guess Sampath chose that because it gels better with the background singing which he is doing.Log in to Reply
The best songs in SJ so far have been (in this order)1) O ri chirraiya (swanand Kirkire) 2) Ghar yaad aata hai mujhe (Sona Mahopatra) 3) Haule Haule (Ram Sampat)Log in to Reply
Have not heard this song in full but it seemed good after listening to the starting part of it and Prasoon Joshi’s lyrics seemed better.Best song to me was the title song Satyamev Jayate. O ri chirraiya was also good.I don’t like the rest of the songs – they all sound the same and the lyrics are bad – trying to incorporate the episode’s issue. I don’t know why that Dheere Dheere song is so liked and has so many views. I think those are pedestrian lyrics.I don’t like Sona Mahopatra’s voice at all. Her voice just turns me off the song.Log in to Reply
Even I dont like Sona’s voice.Dheere Dheere song was good, not my fav but good.. The first antara was bit too direct to the subject of episode – “nanhi si ek jaan ne apna bachpan khoya”, (and are a put off for me) but the tune and the way it was composed was good.Log in to Reply
Not all songs are by Prasoon Joshi. Prasoon Joshi has written some good songs (TZP mostly) but he comes off as a Gulzar wannabe more often.“Zeher jo usne ghola Maine woh piya.. Chuppi ke, aad mein Chhipkar usne jurm kiya..”Log in to Reply
To be frank he has not done enough work to be compared with anyone. But he does not fall into typical Akhtar/Bakshi category.Log in to Reply
