Looks good and different. Liked the trailer.

Ranveer seems to be in a different role compared to his BBB role and seems to be acting well. Sonakshi seems to be acting well but they should have chosen a different actress. She is fat and looking older than Ranveer.

Apparently moifightclub.com closed down because of Anurag Kashyap’s response to the Lootera Plagiarism article they posted.

      https://moifightclub.wordpress.com/2013/03/17/this-blog-is-dead-now/

      Anurag hits a bum note

The most vocal filmmaker in town does not respond well to allegations of plagiarised music in Lootera

Filmmakers bristling under criticism, especially to accusations of plagiarism, is not a new thing. But we do expect some of them to take it on the chin better than the others. Especially ‘liberal’ filmmakers who are expected to be… well… as liberal when it comes to opinion that contradicts theirs.

Mirror watched with disappointment as an keenly followed entertainment blog shut down allegedly after Anurag Kashyap responded sharply to a post about the similarity between the introductory tune of Lootera and that of Hollywood film, One Day, starring Anne Hathaway. Lootera is being produced by Ekta Kapoor and Anurag’s company, Phantom and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.

The controversial tune has been composed by Bollywood’s latest go-to guy for ‘original and edgy’ music Amit Trivedi, who we heard has been ‘heartbroken’ ever since the controversy over ‘plagiarism’ erupted.

Vikramaditya on his part maintained that critics have jumped to conclusions: “I would really appreciate if everyone waits fo Lootera’s album. There is a song called Shikayatein. The notes in the teaser are a small piece from that song. This theme has one note more than the song Amit has created, which gives it the similarity. Amit has never in his life plagiarised, copied or stolen music from anyone and he’s never going to start doing that.”

Vouching for his composer’s intent, the filmmaker said: “I promise that you guys won’t be disappointed with Amit or the music after you hear the song.”

The film fraternity however is stumped by Anurag’s belligerent response to the issue, especially because he has always patronised and encouraged independent opinion, bloggers and writers. After all, his years of struggle and his fight against the system have made him the poster boy of free and fearless cinema.

When Mirror contacted contacted him, Anurag said” “It’s an unnecessary controversy. I can promise you that neither me, Vikram or Amit were even aware of this film, One Day before the controversy blew up.”

      Mirror’s music critic says:

Call it a case of creative coincidence or creative convenience. But the similarity in the bunch of evocative notes that uplift an evocative, melodic piece titled One Day Main Titles from the original soundtrack of One Day, and the trailer of Lootera is unmistakable. While veteran British composer Rachel Portman had used a moving symphony set-up for her composition, Lootera’s background piece, as heard on the trailer, lets soft piano keys play out the tune followed by violins building up the tempo. Portman’s piece is so dense with emotion that Amit Trivedi’s fans should be happy that he came up with something as similar in the Lootera track.

Like the visuals, everything else seems suspiciously manipulated. The monologue is silly.
Udaan is not an easy film to follow-up. But at least he has given Bhansali a run for his visuals.

Lootera: Is the background score copied from ‘One Day’?

New Delhi: When the rumours of Lootera’s background score being copied from ‘Ona Day’ broke out, we decided to investigate the matter. We are posting both the music tracks here and leaving it to you decide whether the background score of ‘Lootera’ is copied or not.
