Knives Out Review by Sputnik

The circumstances surrounding the death of crime novelist Harlan Thrombey are mysterious, but there’s one thing that renowned Detective Benoit Blanc knows for sure—everyone in the wildly dysfunctional Thrombey family is a suspect. Now, Blanc must sift through a web of lies and red herrings to uncover the truth. From acclaimed writer-director Rian Johnson comes this suspenseful, twist-filled whodunnit with an all-star ensemble cast including Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Michael Shannon, Jaeden Martell, and more.

Some scenes are good like the scene where Marta cannot lie without vomiting or the scene where Marta gives the wrong medicine to Harlan or the scene where the family is discussing about illegal immigrants. Ransom telling everyone to eat shit scene was hilarious. Linda’s outburst scene after finding out that Harlan left everything to Marta is excellent.

Daniel Craig is good as Benoit Blanc, a private detective but his accent seemed forced and unnecessary. It reminded of the Murder episode of The Office where Michael was trying the Savannah accent. Ana de Armas is very good as Marta. Chris Evans is very good as Ransom. Jamie Lee Curtis is very good as Linda. Michael Shannon is good as Walter. Don Johnson is good as Richard. Toni Collette is good as Joni. Katherine Langford is good as Megan in a small role. Jaeden Martell is good as Jacob. Christopher Plummer is very good as Harlan Thrombey. The rest of the cast is goo too.

Knives Out is a somewhat old fashioned murder mystery. It is mostly set in one house. Its a good engrossing murder mystery with some good twists. Knives Out was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
