Title and even the poster is so 80s. Sounds like Ek Jaan Hai Hum starring Rajeev Kapoor.
Having Gulzar, the master of words, at their disposal and they can’t find a one word title. Gulzar’s poetry is good as usual.
Pavan Jha spoke to Gulzar and those lines are not written by Gulzar. Should have guessed it. Seemed more Javed Akhtarish than Gulzarish.
Agree.
CilemaSnob tweeted this about the poetry.
“Ehehe just read it. How can this poetry be Gulzar’s? Unless he was doing #drunktweets or u guys dont know his words. Chindi pedestrian hai. “
yes…while reading the poetry even I found it too simple and cliched to be gulzar’s….
The poetry is written by Aditya Chopra.

About poetry . the lesser said the better.
Another thing is Rahman doesnt understand a thing abt hindi poetry. It only helps him when the company is good. Here it seems the team is mixed and unsure.
I have a feeling that Rahman will deliver a Komaram Puli here. Knowing Rahman and his music for past few years…he wont be exactly KICKED abt this stale love tale.
Also, the main poetry on the poster is so ho-hum that i am sure major talent or rahman and gulzar is shoooo’d off…
I was expecting a “releif” with this …after seeing so much masala films posters .trailers off late….but alas…….this is another addition to masala stuff …nothing different….just lil bit sweetish.
Why would anyone else attempt writing poetry when you have Gulzar writing for you?
As I said before “Having Gulzar, the master of words, at their disposal and they canβt find a one word title.”
I think this will be more Aditya Chopra movie than Yash Chopra movie. Even naming the title after a song is Aditya Chopra style. I prefer one word titles. Look at old Yash Chopra movies – titles were so good and so apt for the movie – Waqt, Deewar, Trishul, Silsila, Darr.
Yash Chopra movies were much better than what he has made after Aditya’s arrival. At least they used to be something new and something bold (Silsila, Lamhe, Darr).
Ever since Aditya Chopra made DDLJ (the long title as well as 2nd half of the movie inspired from HAHK), Yash Chopra movies have become more fluff (DTPH). Have seen only last hour of VZ and did not like it either.
————
As for modeling the hero after the director I think many directors do that. Jeetendra used to resemble Gulzar in movies like Parichay, Khusboo and Kinara.
Below average poster in trailer movie looks fresh this poster is mixture of Silsila and Darr.
“I think this will be more Aditya Chopra movie than Yash Chopra movie. ”
I frankly dont know abt it. Its all same for me.
“Yash Chopra movies were much better than what he has made after Adityaβs arrival. ”
Same thing π I find both of them same way…….directionwise/storywise/screenplaywise….
well…..in departments it was ordinary to good in 70s also…and now too….. it seems π
“Jab Tak Hai Jaan” where is gabbar?
Bearded SRK is Gabbar π
They should have used full title “Jab Tak Hai Jaan Jaane Jahan Main Naachoongi” with Katrina in Chikni Chameli mode and atleast you would have liked it π
LOL!
I liked the first working title for this film – JAI (initials of the names of the three characters in the film).I remember everyone at sb was liking the title. But then when other weird names came up (london ishq, etc) ppl started making fun.
Fake
“Teri aankhon ki namkeen
mastiyaan Teri hansi ki beparwah
gustaakhiyaan Teri zulfon ki lehraati
angdaaiyaan Nahin bhoolunga main Jab tak hai jaan. Jab tak hai
jaan”
π
CDI look is good. REST EPIC FAILURE.
They almost translated the title to suit Indian Audience – OLDBOY – Jab tak hai jaan
“They almost translated the title to suit Indian Audience β OLDBOY β Jab tak hai jaan”
LOL. Had to read it twice to get the joke π
125 – 150 Crs … Sealed !!!
Does this Poster excites or pleases me?? NO
May be I dislike This genre π
No interest in. just SON OF SARDAR THIS DEWALI
Nothing works here except SRK’s bearded look, but this can surprise.
Agree.
Beard pic is good.
About rest – I think Yashji sees SRK as his son or kinda like that…even in looks … his mega large nose ….yashji has same. ..I think he is making SRK intentionally show it .. π
I know movie titles have nothing to do with actual movie but movie title seems like end result of deadend reached after marathon brainstorming. Rakh lo koi naam, koi farak nahi padtaa!
LOL
Aditya has one flash in the pan success in DDLJ which he could not replicate again, he just cashes on his father’s successful romantic formula. And I also think Yash’s magic was lost in DTPH & VZ due to Aditya’s intervention. I have lowered expectation of this movie as screenplay is by Aditya.
Song title is also brainchild of Aditya as Yash always has classic movie with 1 word title before with DDLJ only they moved to this song inspired titles.
Only positive about movie is SRK’s bearded look π looking forward to music launch now….
Didnt liked the title and the 80’s feel which 1st poster carry.
SOS looks much better than this one. not so good poster..
Ajay Devgn fan club re tweeted this just now.
“Dhamakedar β@BeingBaaghi
in 1991, there was clash betn devgn n yrf. Devgn had trashed lamhein with phool aur kaante. history abt to repeat this diwali #sos #sos #sos ”
