Housefull 2 Set For Huge Second Weekend

Housefull 2 is set for huge second weekend business at the box office as it was super strong on its 8th day. The all India collections had dropped below 4 crore nett on Thursday but were up on Friday despite a 25% approx loss of screens. Films like Don 2 and Agneepath which also had no major competition on day 8 showed drops on their respective 8th days.

The film collected around 4.25 crore nett on its second Friday as per early estimates and is heading towards a 19-20 crore nett second weekend. The film has tremendous appreciation amongst the masses and this is being reflected in collections in all the traditional Hindi film markets from Gujarat to Punjab to Rajasthan.

The film faced headwinds in the first week in the face of regional films and IPL but with strong word of mouth, these factors are having a limited affect now. In its second week Housefull 2 will be amongst the top five of all time while in its first week it was amongst the top ten of all time.

BOI is sounding as if HF2 is gonna break 3Idiots record.
What abt Friday being a holiday at many places due to new year?

they are saying it will go well past 100 crores. lets c!

What abt the first week actuals? When will that come?

shilac – chek their words .if the film had “tremendous” appreciation among masses,it wouldnt have had an average opening. The first weekend fell well short of 45cr which was expectations of even the most subtle akshay fans like doga.and Gujarat/punjab/rajasthan are such small circuits that it doesnt matter in the larger picture, since day 1 ,if u observe,BOI has been tight-lipped about hf2 wom in major circuits like mumbai, delhi or mysore/ need to read between lines.BOI was giving ludhiana and rajsthan reports throughout first week.

      • narad_muni 10 years ago

they are reporting whichever center is doing well on a particular day.
If Nagpur does well on Monday, they will report that.
If Gujarat does well the next day, they will report that and so on…

I have never seen so much biased reporting and pumping up a movie from BOI even for huge blockbusters like Dabang, BG etc.

        • Baba Ji 10 years ago

shilac – BOI does it for all akshay films because of his punjabi roots i think. You remember the KI period? BOI was a laughing stock that time due to number and report fudging. Also BOI keeps lamenting how akshay will not be affected by a string of flops etc.

          • Jasper 10 years ago

Oh so now BOI is fudging numbers too? Wonderful to see to what lengths some people can go just to push their own POV.

Shilac, why are you so unhappy with Hf2’s collections? Aren’t you happy that finally an akshay Kumar has done well?

    • narad_muni 10 years ago

more than Akki, I hate Sajid khan – loud mouth asshole

      • Baba Ji 10 years ago

sanket – we are unhappy with the biased BO commentary from BOI.u also know it.

  3. Jasper 10 years ago

No amount of wailing is going to change the fact that BOI’s NUMBERS have been, are, and will always be, the most accurate sources and that despite so much of over-smart mocking going on right now, everybody will still be glued to BOI for later releases. Wait and watch when the film of a star you don’t like releases; then we shall see who is the laughing stock.

    • narad_muni 10 years ago

I agree on the numbers from BOI being most accurate but their biased reporting and selective numbers to prove their point of view is utterly shameless

      • Jasper 10 years ago

Bias is subjective; had a similar sort of reporting been done for your most favorite star, you would not say anything. i know I wouldn’t. Its better to just see the numbers rather than try to make ourselves look smart because we have the guts to attack BOI.

        • narad_muni 10 years ago

          LOL πŸ™‚
I can be biased but they are a box office site.. they should not be biased πŸ˜‰

There is no point in trying to make ourselves look smart – we are smart πŸ™‚

btw, why r u feeling the pinch? πŸ˜‰

          • Jasper 10 years ago

Because come the film of a star you don’t like ,and then you would be drooling over bOI night and day.

            Don’t I know people like you? πŸ˜›

  4. narad_muni 10 years ago

You know me? really! gr8 πŸ™‚
I check BOI for all films whether I like the star or not…n i check a few others as well….n so do many ppl here.
Dude, wake up! This is a bollywood forum and nothing generates more interest and arguments than boxoffice collections.

tujhko mirchi laga to main kya karoon πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
    Tu akki fan hai kya?
I thought that species has gone extinct by now. LOL πŸ™‚

    • fearlesssoul 10 years ago

Species of Aamir, Srk, Salman, HR, Ranbir/Imran/Emran may go extinct but you can always find Askhay speicies somewhere down the line with their tag line – Return on Action King at the age of 90yrs as well πŸ˜‰

  5. sanket porwal 10 years ago

Baba Ji- The commentary may be quite biased but numbers cant be. Who knows if BOI provides breakdown and come up with higher number? Numbers is all that matters..and BOI seems quite unbiased now because they have least possible figure for week 1.

And Baba, forget about WOM, its good..out and out Good. The second weekend will show you. The drop will just be 60%

    • Baba Ji 10 years ago

sanket – how come difference between taran and boi is just few lakhs? for other films,it is around 5 cr minimum.and u remember the KI phase of BOI i hope.

  6. sanket porwal 10 years ago

No Baba I dont remember KI phase of BOI. And by the way, difference between which two figures of BOI and Taran are you talking about? Week/weekend ?

  7. Jasper 10 years ago

Baba is simply trying to prove a fact which is not true. As I said, no amoutn of wailing can change the fact that BOI’s numbers are the most accurate. Full stop. πŸ˜€
