Housefull 2 is set for huge second weekend business at the box office as it was super strong on its 8th day. The all India collections had dropped below 4 crore nett on Thursday but were up on Friday despite a 25% approx loss of screens. Films like Don 2 and Agneepath which also had no major competition on day 8 showed drops on their respective 8th days.
The film collected around 4.25 crore nett on its second Friday as per early estimates and is heading towards a 19-20 crore nett second weekend. The film has tremendous appreciation amongst the masses and this is being reflected in collections in all the traditional Hindi film markets from Gujarat to Punjab to Rajasthan.
The film faced headwinds in the first week in the face of regional films and IPL but with strong word of mouth, these factors are having a limited affect now. In its second week Housefull 2 will be amongst the top five of all time while in its first week it was amongst the top ten of all time.

shilac – chek their words .if the film had “tremendous” appreciation among masses,it wouldnt have had an average opening.The first weekend fell well short of 45cr which was expectations of even the most subtle akshay fans like doga.and Gujarat/punjab/rajasthan are such small circuits that it doesnt matter in the larger picture,since day 1 ,if u observe,BOI has been tight-lipped about hf2 wom in major circuits like mumbai,delhi or mysore/nizam.you need to read between lines.BOI was giving ludhiana and rajsthan reports throughout first week.
they are reporting whichever center is doing well on a particular day.
If Nagpur does well on Monday, they will report that.
If Gujarat does well the next day, they will report that and so on…
I have never seen so much biased reporting and pumping up a movie from BOI even for huge blockbusters like Dabang, BG etc.
shilac – BOI does it for all akshay films because of his punjabi roots i think.You remember the KI period? BOI was a laughing stock that time due to number and report fudging.Also BOI keeps lamenting how akshay will not be affected by a string of flops etc.

No amount of wailing is going to change the fact that BOI’s NUMBERS have been, are, and will always be, the most accurate sources and that despite so much of over-smart mocking going on right now, everybody will still be glued to BOI for later releases. Wait and watch when the film of a star you don’t like releases; then we shall see who is the laughing stock.
I agree on the numbers from BOI being most accurate but their biased reporting and selective numbers to prove their point of view is utterly shameless
Bias is subjective; had a similar sort of reporting been done for your most favorite star, you would not say anything. i know I wouldn’t. Its better to just see the numbers rather than try to make ourselves look smart because we have the guts to attack BOI.

Baba Ji- The commentary may be quite biased but numbers cant be. Who knows if BOI provides breakdown and come up with higher number? Numbers is all that matters..and BOI seems quite unbiased now because they have least possible figure for week 1.
And Baba, forget about WOM, its good..out and out Good. The second weekend will show you. The drop will just be 60%
