Kajra mohobbat waala – a rare case of a female singer singing for a male actor (vishwajeet)

    Thanks for posting that Sputnik.

I think the one below is a must for this post. One of her most popular

My most fav is how the lyricist plays with the words in “guess whats my name” – “boojh mera kya naam re”..(was it majrooh sultanpuri?)

My father is a die-hard fan of “Saheb” (Dilip Kumar) and I heard a lot of Shamshad songs in my childhood due to that.

though I like Talat more in this (whom I dont like in many other songs)

Yes, its Majrooh Sultanpuri 🙂 . I guessed it right – such a mastery over words.

PS: Sputnik – pls dont mind I will spam this post with multiple comments as the thoughts come to my mind.

Never thought of 123 aaja mausam hai rangeen as a great song – it isnt. But first time noticed the background noise of the crowd and all in the video – its so apt.

    fuck me

How did I forgot to mention this one earlier!!

I saw this movie in theater in 1990/1991 – in its re-run…I loved this movie !! (One of my initial outings alone in theater ….other being raj kapoor’s “Aah” and another is Thanedar (sanju – 3 times- loved it) )

I distinctly remember rs 2 was ticket for balcony and there were around 50-60 ppl in the hall. another thing….school kid like me (i think he looked like he was in 12th) was smiling “mann hi mann mein” while watching this movie 🙂

    (such innocent times!! 🙂 )

(its by shamshad , lata and rafi)

Thanks for posting all these songs. Love Jawan Hai Mohabbat. Agree with you that Talat is better in that Dilip Kumar song.

This was the first time I noticed the background noise in the song ek do teen aaja mausam hai rangeen too. Initially I thought I had some other youtube video playing in background and then I thought the audio is of bad quality and searched for another video of the song to confirm before posting it 🙂 Agree with you that “background noise of the crowd and all in the video – its so apt”.

Malikunnisa Ali aka Minoo Mumtaz (Sister of Mehmood):

She was re-christened as Meenu by none other than Meena Kumari who as the sister-in-law of Mehmood. She started off as a stage dancer and later as dancer many films of the 50s and 60s with her first film “Sakhi Hateem”. She also played the lead role opposite Balraj Sahni in “Black Cat” (1959). She can be seen in the song “Boojh Mera Kya Naam Re” from the movie C.I.D.

In the song ……jawa hai mohobbat…

notice the right corner when the song starts till 1:05 of the song …..- looks like someone’s pussy or ball ….wet with cum/precum….was someone masturbating …producer or director????

Abb mujhe ban mat karo – it really looks like that!!!

RIP. I like most her songs but not necessarily her voice. Its too nasal for my liking.
