Go Goa Gone Boxoffice Collections Thread

Go Goa Gone Opens Below The Mark

Go Goa Gone had an average opening of around 25% at multiplexes as metros opened at 30% and other major centres at 20%. Single screen opening will be much lower. The film is mainly catering to premium multiplexes and these tend to do better in the evenings.

The business of film will be mainly restricted to cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Bangalore while not much can be expected from other cities. The film will find it very difficult to collected in UP, CPCI Rajasthan etc with even the premium properties in these areas finding it tough.

The key will be how the premium properties go in the evening. The other release Gippi is a film totally dependent on word of mouth and as expected has started with low figures.

i knew it, the film will open below the line due to its niche genre… but I am sure the movie will pick up gradually and good WOM will help it make a mark at the box office… Watched the film last nyt and man it was simply awesome and hillarious… the funny punches will make you roll on the floor laughing and you will just be in love with the characters of the movie especially that of saif, kunal and anand tiwari… though the concept is very new in bollywood and hollywood made it a long time ago, still its a welcome change and we must embrace it with open hands… i want this movie to make it big… c’mon india wake up and letz be in the latest new era and give way to such different kinda movies instead of still embracing those over the top so called masala entertainers….

Go Goa Gone First Day Business

    Saturday 11th May 2013 10.30 IST

    Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Go Goa Gone collected around 3.75 crore nett on its first day as per early estimates. The business was mainly coming from the big metros like Delhi city collected around 60 lakhs from its 35 odd cinemas while the UP contribution was less than 30 lakhs from its 60 odd cinemas.

The film is dependent on how well the metro multiplex can grow on Saturday and growth will have to be strong to compensate for other cities outside metros which are not likely to grow much.

The film was marketed as India’s first Zom-Com but these types hardly have a market in India so despite good promotion the collections are not too impressive.

Go Goa Gone Has Limited Growth On Saturday

    Sunday 12th May 2013 12.00 IST
    Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Go Goa Gone had limited growth on Saturday as it collected around 4.25 crore nett after collecting around 3.75 crore nett on day one. The tw0 day total in 8 crore nett.

The film did show growth at multiplexes on Saturday but not at the level it should have and with Saturday not showing much growth it makes it an uphill struggle. The film only had chances at premium multiplexes but they have not performed too well.

Sunday should be better than Saturday but its unlikely to beup by a similar range to Saturday which is 10-15%.

Watched GGG yesterday .. and I liked it. Though as some claimed, its not ROFL .. but yes many funny moments and quite novel concept/story for Bollywood.

    Go Goa Gone Weekend Business

Go Goa Gone could not find much appreciation as it collected around 12-12.25 crore nett. The trend was also not good for the film as there was limited growth on Saturday and Sunday.

Business in Mumbai city, Delhi city, Pune and Bangalore was better but not big enough to make much of a difference. The approx breakdown for the weekend is as follows.

    Friday – 3.55 crore

    Saturday – 4.10 crore

    Sunday – 4.50 crore

    TOTAL – 12.15 crore

Gippi fared poorly over the weekend while Four Two Ka One was a washout.

Go Goa Gone Collects 18.75 Crore In Week One

    Friday 17th May 2013 10.30 IST

    Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Go Goa Gone collected around 19.75 crore nett in week one as the weekday collections were steady although on the lower side.

The film has seen a huge reductions of shows on its 8th day so 25 crore nett looks the best case scenario for its lifetime business.

The bulk of the business for the film has come from Mumbai and Delhi/UP with these two circuits contributing over 75% of the all India business. Other circuits like East Punjab and Mysore which tend to collect better for multiplex films did not collect as they should have.
