@Sputnik – Thanks for posting. Nice one.
Was this before Ishq released or after? Wasnt aware HAHK was offered to Aamir.
You are welcome. IMDB and Wikipedia have Ishq release date as 28 November 1997 but they are not always right. I think it might be before release of Ishq.
I wasn’t aware that HAHK was offered to Aamir either.
3 of these directors at that time had films under production with him – Ghulam (Vikram), Sarfarosh (Mathew) and Mann (Indra). Mansoor is his family. Aamir never worked again with RGV after Rangeela – so its not surprising that he refused to comment.
Vikram talks abt giving an action role to Aamir in Ghulam – wasnt AHA and Baazi action oriented too? Or maybe he was referring to the fact that Aamir had no success in action till that point.
Even Ghulam and Sarfarosh were small hits – nothing major (Sarfarosh was never meant to be due to its restrictive treatment). He has been a very late bloomer in action (Ghajini/D3) – probably due to his physicality. By the time Ghajini/D3 came, his reputation/stardom was such that people didnt care anymore abt how unconvincing he looks in action, and he ironically delivered some of the biggest action blockbusters in last few years.
no director will ever say negative agaisnt a star. its just another sugar coated views on aamir khan by some directors
Agree.
