Does God Exist ? – Part 2

Continuing from the discussion, it seems that ramdev baba bhakts and agnostics have found a new enemy “Chi” energy instead of God himself and are reading internet websites rigorously to come up with juvenile counter comments which only show their ignorance.

This is a follow up post from the discussion from below threads:

Does God exist?

PK could have been a worthy “sequel” to Oh MY God!

Movies You Watched This Month – December 2014

My favourite scene from Oh My God!

Firstly aamir fans should not question Chi because PK is neither atheist nor an agnostic. He is a believer. In the TV show scene, saurabh shukla asks him “agar tum humse bhagwan cheen rahe ho to hume kya de rahe ho,” and talks how worshipping God , wearing threads etc gives them hope in life. aamir agrees with him that believing in God gives hope and also agrees that God created us . he has a problem with the rituals (ways by which ppl pray to God) and multiple religions. fair enuff, then what is the right thing to do?

On the other hand, OMG clearly stated its perspective. Paresh says “bhagwan dhoodna hai to insaan mein milega, patharo mein kabhi nahi milega”. Askhay as krishna says “mujhe kahan dhoodn rahe ho kanji, maine kahan tha na main har jagah hun, upar chidiyon ke saath ghosla bana raha hun, neeche chitiyon ke saath lunch bhi kar raha hun”.This is the true essence of God. God is everywhere, in every living being and he cant be materialised and confined.

People pray to God to achieve mental peace and to destress them in times of crisis.Believing in God gives them hope to live another day as rightly said in PK. A hindu goes to mandir and does pooja. A muslim goes to masjid and offers namaz and christian goes to church and so on. What ppl achieve doing this is mental peace, hope and relief from stress. PK critises this. OMG also did.thats fine. Then what should be done if not praying? In OMG, paresh talks about an incident where he gives milk (meant to be given as chadhawa) to a poor beggar outside temple who blesses him and paresh says he achieved mental peace.

Now here is some background about Chi/Qi:

In ancient times most of the population of China consisted of peasants. The people would work in the fields all day until sunset, and then return to their homes to rest.Out in the moonlight, the weary peasants could wind down and relax. And it was then that they became aware of something moving around inside their bodies -something that felt a little like steam. This steam could move up or down, and in different places such as the legs or arms; it also seemed to be related to their breathing and to the mind. The people noted all these various feelings and eventually discovered that each person had a centre, just below the navel, which made the rest of the body warm and strong. They called this centre ‘Dantien’.

With continued observation they found that the flow of the steam could make the body warm and was related to the spirit -spirit in the sense of a feeling of wellbeing rather than in the religious sense of the word. Gradually they discovered a network of channels crossing the body, linking the internal organs. Distributed along these channels were certain points which affected the way the steam flowed through the body. Thus energy (Qi) and the system of acupuncture points and channels were discovered, and people found that touching and massaging the points could heal a variety of problems.

Movement and breathing of various kinds to create heat were thus perceived as ways of healing physical ailments from very early times, long before the formulation of medicines. The movements and breathing patterns of animals were also regarded as valuable examples to follow. In his book Chunway Chu, written around 600 BC and dealing with the subject of breathing,Zhuang Zi said: ‘Breathing techniques can improve metabolism; moving like a bear and a bird willresult in longevity.’During the Three Kingdoms Period (from 280-220 BC), a famous Chinese doctor, Hwa Tou, created’Five Animal Play’. He understood how wild animals lived and how they moved to maintain their bodies’ balance and he saw how people, living under the system of society, had lost this natural ability. ‘Five Animal Play’ was designed to help people relearn this skill in order to cure illness and strengthen the body. Hwa Tou explained that when you raised your arms above your head, as if they were the horns of a deer, it stimulated the Qi circulation of the liver; when you stretched your arms out like a bird spreading its wings, it was good for the heart and relieving tension; rubbing and slapping yourself and moving like a monkey was good for the spleen; stretching your arms out in front of you while exhaling, like a tiger, was good for releasing the tension in the lungs; and bending forwards like the bear was good for the back and the kidneys. Hwa T ou used the names of animals because it made the exercises easier to remember and by using wild animals, instead of domestic ones, he made the exercises sound exhilarating. All these movements help the Qi flow aJong the channels, strengthening the body and promoting vitality. They also balance the circulation and stimulate the internal organs. The famous seventh-century BC philosopher Lao Zi advised people to relax their hearts (meaning their chests) and to firm their stomachs, by which he meant that they should concentrate their minds on the centre (Dantien, as mentioned above).

All this is nothing but basics of Yoga. And yoga uses it for inner peace of mind and to strengthen body not to do some stupid chamatkars like Chi. Even simple recitation of “OM”/”Aum” has this basic science.

    • Baba 9 years ago

chamatkars are promised by your fraud baba ramdev patanjali products. There are no chamatkars in martial arts. if you think breaking iron rod or standing on finger are beyond human capability then you are just too naive in this domain. better stick to ramdev baba and dhoom 3 action.

If one believes in Chi energy chamatkars then they should not have problems with Black magicians or any superstitions.

Some more information about Ninjutsu vis-a-vis Chi/Qi:

    Ninjitsu is not a magical technique which will enable you to disassemble your body and Reassemble yourself somewhere else. It will not change the structure of your body, making it transparent. This Art of Invisibility consists of the skills employed to make yourself unseeable;
in this context, the art becomes almost a philosophy.
The ancient masters have said, “A tree falling in the forest with no one to hear it, makes no sound; but, it falls nonetheless.” So it is with Ninjitsu. A Ninja attacking a blind man is invisible, but he is attacking nonetheless.

Ninja place as much importance on the spiritual and mental aspects of their art as on the physical. The ability to think, to reason and remember, is highly prized among a society where the mind is the ultimate weapon. To this end, they developed exercises to sharpen their perception and psychological insight. These techniques also serve to rejuvenate the body, calm the mind, and cultivate the inner strength. It was said that the ancient Ninja could sense hidden enemies, foresee the imminent death of a sick or aged person, and predict the breakup up of a marriage. This was not because they were “psychic” but rather because they had developed their powers of observation and intuition to a high degree through these and other special exercises.

Meditation is not a process to be hurried; do not expect instant result. But, slowly, softly, after a few weeks, you will notice than an old injury no longer aggravates you, or that you are sleeping better. Then will come the subtle sounds and sensations. A feeling of lightness, tingle up the spine, the sound of your own heartbeat. These are signs of steady progress.
Two periods per day are recommended. One soon after rising and one before going to bed. The exercise should be done in a quiet darkened room, neither too warm nor too cold. The clothing should be loose and comfortable, there should be adequate ventilation to provide fresh air, and noises or other distractions should be avoided.
Breath control is the key to proper meditation, which may be defined as the art of consciously altering the state of mind. To accomplish this, one physically adjusts the pH (acidalkaline balance) of the blood by regulating the rate of respiration.
This training is not for the purpose of gaining, exploiting, or manipulating power. It should not be practiced with those goals in mind, as this will hinder good progress. It is about
calming the mind, healing the body, and improving oneself to be in harmony with the flow of the universe and set a good example for all. Meditation, sitting quietly, listening to yourself breathe, is the first exercise of Ninja Invisibility.

Definition of Reiki from wiki which involves Qi or Chi.

Reiki (霊気?, /ˈreɪkiː/) is a spiritual practice[1] developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, which has since been adapted by various teachers of varying traditions. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing or hands-on-healing as a form of alternative medicine and is sometimes classified as oriental medicine by some professional medical bodies.[2] Through the use of this technique, practitioners believe that they are transferring universal energy (i.e., reiki) in the form of qi (Japanese: ki) through the palms, which they believe allows for self-healing and a state of equilibrium.[3]”

And here is a study conducted on it.

    ———————-

Effects of reiki in clinical practice: a systematic review of randomised clinical trials

    Summary
Introduction:  The aim of this systematic review is to summarise and critically evaluate the evidence for the effectiveness of reiki.

Methods:  We searched the literature using 23 databases from their respective inceptions through to November 2007 (search again 23 January 2008) without language restrictions. Methodological quality was assessed using the Jadad score.

Results:  The searches identified 205 potentially relevant studies. Nine randomised clinical trials (RCTs) met our inclusion criteria. Two RCTs suggested beneficial effects of reiki compared with sham control on depression, while one RCT did not report intergroup differences. For pain and anxiety, one RCT showed intergroup differences compared with sham control. For stress and hopelessness a further RCT reported effects of reiki and distant reiki compared with distant sham control. For functional recovery after ischaemic stroke there were no intergroup differences compared with sham. There was also no difference for anxiety between groups of pregnant women undergoing amniocentesis. For diabetic neuropathy there were no effects of reiki on pain. A further RCT failed to show the effects of reiki for anxiety and depression in women undergoing breast biopsy compared with conventional care.

Discussion:  In total, the trial data for any one condition are scarce and independent replications are not available for each condition. Most trials suffered from methodological flaws such as small sample size, inadequate study design and poor reporting.

Conclusion:  In conclusion, the evidence is insufficient to suggest that reiki is an effective treatment for any condition. Therefore the value of reiki remains unproven.

Here is what James Randi of the famous One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge has to say on Shaolin monks show.

    ————–

“I recently watched a very well-produced PBS-TV program on the Shaolin monks, “Shaolin: The Wheel of Life,” a spectacular demonstration of standard “martial arts” tricks — and they are tricks — some of which date back to medieval times. The Shaolin movement is very old, teaching the usual claptrap notions that most of the martial arts groups espouse. They say they can teach students “to develop supernatural abilities, far beyond abilities of an ordinary man.” A student can learn to “pierce a wooden board with his finger as it were a straw mat and crush stones into sand with blows of his elbows.” They claim that one master of Shaolin

. . . crushed huge stones with his elbow like with a diamond pestle and broke thick wooden beams with an arm blow . . . blows of a big iron hammer did not hurt him at all. [He] beat off arrows shot at him, was able of dodging spears pointed at him from a few sides . . . he could crush a stone with a “trampling” blow and kill a man with the “Iron Fist”. . . [he] ran up a sheer wall of three meters high . . .

They sell a medallion — the Wheel of Life Pendant — that is supposed to have healing and protective powers. Says one of their “experts” who uses “Applied Kinesiology” to test the pendant:

I have discovered that when one finds the Wheel (five varieties) suitable to one’s energy field, it is capable of reducing the intensity of allergic reactions if it is worn close to the body. The Wheel of Life pendant also helps to improve one’s physical energy and mental clarity by bringing the energy meridians into a Yin-Yang state of balance.

Not to be outdone, a TV minister, Terry Cole-Whitaker, endorsed the pendant with: “My aura jumped out 60 ft. This is fabulous.” And as final validation, actor Steven Segal declared, “My chakras began spinning and then went into balance after putting on my Wheel.” Nothing like spinning, unbalanced charkas to get your attention…

The show on PBS was beautifully choreographed, the music was exciting, the performances brilliant. But these stunts are not supernatural or mystical in nature, at all, any more than ballet maneuvers are. At no point was that made clear, though the impression certainly was allowed to get across that this was no mere dance recital, but rather a show of superhuman powers.
These stunts have been used as selling points for many religious movements down through history, particularly in the Far East. The Chinese “Falun Gong” movement originated with Li Hongzhi, who in 1992 introduced the practice and started the religion, also known as Falun Dafa. Li’s claims are very much like those of the Shaolin priestsbody”, though not as old.

Li preaches that the “qi,” “ki,” or “chi” — the “energy substance in the human body” — can, through practice of Falun Gong, be activated, changing the physical state of the body, achieving healing and health. Through such training, he says, one can emit a “high-energy cluster that is manifested in the form of light with fine particles and high density.” This he calls, “Gong.” “Fa” he defines as “Law” in the sense of a “primary cosmic law that pervades all things in the universe.” “Dafa” is “Great Law.” “Falun” means “Law Wheel.” The purpose of Falun Gong, he says, is to cultivate a person’s “Gong.” This is done through physical exercise and the development of a person’s “mind-nature,” or “Xinxing.” Li teaches that a “super-eye” obtained via Falun Gong can give his followers X-ray vision, that “goodness” cures disease, and that deep breathing exercises can solve the world’s problems. This is how they describe the “Dharma Wheel” that they claim each adherent can actually grow in their abdomen:

Falun Gong is characterized by the cultivation of a Falun [Dharma wheel], located at the lower abdomen. As an intelligent entity of high energy substance, the Falun automatically absorbs energy from the universe and relieves the body of bad elements.

In short, folks, this is another mystical cult basing its philosophy on mythology and pseudoscience, a spiritual movement loosely based on Buddhism, Taoism, yoga-style exercises, and blatant fantasies.

Leader “Master” Li Hongzhi is a former grain clerk from China’s northeastern Jilin province, now in exile in New York, from which position he solicits financial support and directs the movement. Now, there is no question about the challenge that the rise of Falun Gong offers to the absolute authority of the Chinese Communist Party, and Beijing keeps cracking down on public demonstrations by followers. I have serious problems with any suppression of religious or philosophical beliefs, and I certainly would speak out on any such situation here in the United States. I believe, and have always believed, that education and access to information can serve to fight absurd ideas, and we pursue that as a principle at the JREF, as well. The unfortunate fact here is that the uninformed usually want to remain in that state, and you know what they say about leading a horse to water…

China is not a democracy. We have no right to expect that that country should follow democratic principles, though we can hope that they might go in that direction, and can make suggestions to that effect. Falun Gong is just such an untenable philosophy that it should collapse automatically when the followers become more informed. But be assured: I am not at all deceived by the emphasis that the Chinese government has placed on the self-immolation, bloody suicides, disembowelment antics and other horrific actions carried out by certain Falun Gong followers, as if to damn the entire movement by the actions of a few obviously disturbed fanatics. These are exceptions, to be found in all disciplines, even in science.

Let us not forget, however, that we in the USA have been depending on prayers, pleading, and self-abasement to a deity to bring us magical advantages, and have been encouraged to attribute our prosperity and general success among nations, to that sort of action. In my opinion, hard work and dedication to logic and reason ought to be recognized as the reasons for our achievements, not appeals to a mythical friend-in-the-sky. We got where we are in spite of, not because of, those incantations.

I would like to see cults and unreason go the way of the dinosaurs; one of those dinosaurs is Falun Gong. Education is the only morally acceptable weapon we can apply to this project, and in China we have Sima Nan, a valued friend and colleague, going out into the countryside to teach the population how the side-show tricks of the “masters” are done. This activity is not without danger to Sima Nan, who has suffered physical assaults by local groups who support and preach the mythology of Falun Gong. He’s one of my heroes, a man who gets out into the countryside to educate and inform citizens about matters of critical importance.

The PBS show that I saw consisted of cleverly-choreographed demonstrations of the kind of tricks that Sima Nan regularly reveals in his performances. Now, I’m all for entertainment, but when it is used to sell a false philosophy, it becomes propaganda. Breaking cinder-blocks on someone’s head and balancing on the point of a spear seem to prove supernatural powers, but these are standard deceptions that literally can be traced back into the early histories of most cultures. Clearly, presentation of Shaolin miracles also serves as propaganda for the Falun Gong cult, which builds its following via such demonstrations. If that’s the best they have to offer, it’s not good enough.

sputnik – I wish you had read the post and seen the vidoes and tried to understand it, solve your queries with me and then try to question it. that is the approach of a logical man. you are busy copy-pasting stuff from internet to negate everything and you are pretty poor at that too.this is a loser mentality and if i probe you even in the stuff you have posted, you will have no clue how to go further without the help of google and wiki. but for that i need to have live chat. dont want to give you time to search on google

i myself posted a contrasting view on Chi from another martial artist on yahoo which was 100 times more critical yet knowledgeable and effective than anything you have posted so far . you think your silly copy- pasting stuff will perturb me? try and understand what i have written and the videos i have posted. download them , watch them and then speak on them. i will answer to each of your queries as i see that you are confused and operate at a very low level on this topic.i am your friend, i will defnitely guide you!

  12. Baba 9 years ago

looking at the uniform ignorance and low reception , i have to spell out few things literally:

    1) Chi is not God. I challenge anyone to show me any comment where i have said Chi is the creator of this universe or i have directly called it God. In my first post i used the concept of Chi to establish the power of faith. Chi can be experienced if you practise it sincerely, if you are skeptic, you wont. By this i correlated the experience that believers have when they put faith in the God, the Creator. was this so difficult to comprehend?

    2) Chi has no magic. There are no magic in martial arts, that is why they are also called as “martial science”. Whatever skills develop using Chi are within the realm of human potential including developing a sharp mental acumen

    3) Chi is a scientific phenomenon and it is nothing but transfer of energy through various parts of the body. This concept is also known as Kinetic linking. this concept is used in all fight forms and it has been proved and verified by scientists using real time 3d technology. Watch the vidoes i have posted as torrent links.

this is as stupid as posting an ab cruncher video from youtube and saying look six pack abs are a myth because ab cruncher cant produce it!

But I saw many Monk videos on youtube which show the old secretive folks doing this trick – burning paper. It looks like a standard trick in Chi magic.

    • Baba 9 years ago

those are not chi .those are theatrical tricks which were devised to distract enemies.if you have seen batman begins, in that nolan showed how ninjas use tricks to distract enemies.

      • AAP 9 years ago

But that means they are tricks practiced by Monks right? I saw atleast 3 videos wherein they claimed monks who claimed experts in Chi … did not want to be on camera and then they showed these tricks.

        • Baba 9 years ago

tricks are there but they are not done by chi but by using chemicals .

“how burning of a paper will distract an enemy?”

definitely not in the manner shown in your video. that is for demonstration purpose. ninjas in ancient times used fireworks and combustion trickery to make the enemy seem that there are more than one person following them. they create a delusion to instill fear in the mind of the opponent. have you heard of “ganimi kava” trick used by shivaji to scare his enemies? its more of a mental trick but the concept is similar. the idea is to make your enemy feel that you are more than human

          • AAP 9 years ago

Ganimi kava is not a trick like this. Its more of a strategy wherein you attack an enemy in a different way which he is not prepared to. Moughals were not trained in climbing mountains and were more prepared for the ground battle. Shivaji and his “Mawla” sainiks were used to climbing on mountains. Ganimi kawa is more based catching the enemy who is unprepared …

abt the videos …So ninjas or monks used black magic technique to gain popularity it seems.

          • Baba 9 years ago

“Ganimi kawa is more based catching the enemy who is unprepared …”

no that is just one aspect. one of its main aspects was the mental delusion that was created by undercover ppl of shiavji. he used to send his ppl in his enemies territory long before he woudl attack them and his ppl , disguised as locals , would tell stories about how shivaji hyping his power. that was done to demoralise enemies long before the battle was fought and to create an illusion that shivaji is invincible.

“So ninjas or monks used black magic technique to gain popularity it seems.”

black magic is done to bring spirits.its a completel different ballgame. while these chemical and combustion tricks were used to demoralise enemies who were human.there is a big difference

      • AAP 9 years ago

Btw, how burning of a paper will distract an enemy? It takes atleast a minute to see the trick. Till that enemy who is attacking you would sit silently and watch till the paper burns in flames?

  16. AAP 9 years ago

In fact a different kind of Ganimi Kawa was used by the moughals in the Haldighati war.

The haldighati war was between Maharana Pratap and Akbar. The interesting thing is Pratap’s senapati was a muslim from afghan and Akbar’s senapati was “Maan singh” a hindu.

What happened was Pratap’s sena was winning a battle out in the mountains …but Maan singh had a strategy … he took his sena back as far as he could out in the open fields. Then there Moughals had the backup ..and thus they defeated Maharana Pratap sena. This strategic decisions are called in a generic term “Ganimi kava”.

  17. AAP 9 years ago

“No that is just one aspect. one of its main aspects was the mental delusion that was created by undercover ppl of shiavji. he used to send his ppl in his enemies territory long before he woudl attack them and his ppl , disguised as locals , would tell stories about how shivaji hyping his power. that was done to demoralise enemies long before the battle was fought and to create an illusion that shivaji is invincible.”

it could have been possible. Shivaji was a mastermind.

anyone who doubts the power of accupunture use this fuckign method when you have a toothache. it works like hell

“Try an acupressure technique to stop tooth pain fast. With your thumb, press the point on the back of your other hand where the base of your thumb and your index finger meet. Apply pressure for about two minutes. This helps trigger the release of endorphins, the brain’s feel-good hormones.”
