    Good Song.

After a couple of listen, I used to like the song more and more. Though I’ve never been a fan of Rahat’s voice, as I found him loud in each of his songs. But I think Vishal should try Shafqat here instead of Rahat for a change, that could make more impact and he is the only and the most learned singer (other than Rahat) who is capable to do justice with those songs that are made for Rahat’s voice. The composition is genuine and equally good as his previous Dil Toh Bachcha, but just because of the repetitive feel in Rahat’s ‘distinctive’ voice reduces its impact. But still it is an award worthy composition no doubt.

Atleast in a film like this I expect singer’s pronunciation to be proper. But alas…this one is also sung like a Hinglish song. (pronounces “rehta” as “raita” / “mizaaj” as “mijaj” ..and so on…)

First he said mizaaj not mijaj, listen it again carefully. And second thing about rehta or raita.
Ruk Ruk kay Kehte hain, Jhuk jhuk kay rehte hain.
He said ‘Kehte’ simply so you heard it right, but ‘rehte’ in a classical tone, because it’s impossible to pronounciate it as it is while doing so. Infact he said it right as ‘rehte’ but because of that reason, the sound of h (Hay in urdu) was almost silent.

Yes initially he said “Kehte” clearly – but what about raita s afterwards? Its not impossible to pronounce in such song – its just desire to sing it as a Hinglish song..
(Mizaaj is kind of OK after second listen – though needs improvement)

Original Song vs The way its sung (line by line): the poor pronunciations are in bold below

Ruk ruk ke, kehte hain …Jhuk Jhuk ke, rehte hain
Singer:Ruk ruk ke, kehte hain …Jhuk Jhuk ke, raite hain

    Dil ka mizaaj ..ishquiyaa.N
    Singer: Dil ka mijaaz ..ishquiyaa..

    Chote.iN bhi khayee.N ..aur gungunaaye.N
    Singer: CHote.iN bi Khayee.N …aur gungunaaye.N

I don’t have time to waste on his poor pronunciations …

Agree with you that he says Raite Hain instead of Rahte Hain but I think he is ok on Mizaaj and Chotein.

On the song its ok but expected more from Gulzar on the lyrics. It has a Dil To Bachcha Hai Jee hangover.

So basically I dont like this style of singing. Maybe the music composer wanted him to sing in that way – but given the kind of film this is I would have liked to hear pure good pronunciations in the song.
