Captain America: The First Avenger Review by Sputnik

It is 1941 and the world is in the throes of war. Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) wants to do his part and join America’s armed forces, but the military rejects him because of his small stature. Finally, Steve gets his chance when he is accepted into an experimental program that turns him into a supersoldier called Captain America. Joining forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Captain America leads the fight against the Nazi-backed HYDRA organization.

This is one of the better superhero movies. The transformation from Steve, a short, skinny guy who gets beaten up, to the superhero Captain America is very well done. Its a entertaining movie. Its not completely realistic but its not complete fantasy either.

The vfx are really good for the part showing Chris as a short, skinny guy. Here is the link that talks about how it was done. Uncovered: ‘Captain America’s’ Skinny Steve Rogers – Leander Deeny

Chris Evans was very good as Steve Rogers / Captain America. Tommy Lee Jones was good as Chester Phillips. Hugo Weaving was very good as Johann Schmidt / Red Skull. Hayley Atwell looked pretty and was good as Peggy Carter. Stanley Tucci was good as the scientist. Sebastian Stan was good as his friend Bucky Barnes.
