In my point of view Its better if SRK act in commercial movie with Abhinav Kashap first.

Title should have been “SuperCinema’s News” but who cares.

Except dhoom3’s TV Satellite acquisition price, nothing seems interesting. Some sort of a Record… What could be the PK’s TV rights then?

That OUATIM 2 dialogue poster is very lame. Doesn’t sound good considering that OUATIM had good dialogues.

If SRK – Anurag Kashyap are having a JV than it will certainly be a movie to look forward.

The 75 cr. TV rights deal for Dhoom 3 seems only speculation and aimed for sensalisation. It is not possible when the movie itself is under shoot and the last record price was around 40 cr.

hmm that means srk will start it in 2015 as bombay velvet release date is christmas 2014 i believe … he will be doing K jo movie in between i read …

the satellite ryt news seems exaggerated , juts like the Pee kay theatrical ryt news which taran adarsh refuted

  11. Ankur 11 years ago

The satellite rights news for Dhoom 3 seems exaggerated. Sony is already in a deal with YRF since a decade. YRF movies go to them only. Why would they shell out such a high amount for Dhoom 3?

It looks like the same rumour that arose post 3 Idiots – that channels were ready to pay 50 crores for its satellite rights. Ultimately it turned out its satellite rights were sold for 35 crore.

No channel would ever shell out 70 crore for any film.

    • ank_16n 11 years ago

      rightly put…

infact Sony’s head had said during ETT that Yrf and we have mutual understanding and never over sell a movie..

at that ETT was rumored to be sold at same 75 cr to which sony’s head said its below 45 cr(many say it was ultimately at around 43 cr)..!!

Breaking News: OUATIMA avoids clash. SRK’s Chennai Express to be a solo release this Eid, Aug8, 2013.

    All clear for SRK Express

Ekta revises Once Upon A Time- 2 release date to Aug 15, avoids much-anticipated Eid clash.
On March 7, on the set of Chennai Express in Wai, Shah Rukh Khan had asked his team to “Get ready for Eid.” The formal announcement of the release date (August 8) had created quite a flutter in the industry, with filmmakers either making way for the Rohit Shetty juggernaut or, as in the case of Ekta Kapoor, deciding to take the challenge head on with Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Dobara.
Nearly three months, many meetings and much deliberation later, Ekta has decided to shift the release date of her ambitious film. It will now release a week later, on Independence Day. OUATIM – Again, is likely to rub shoulders with Subhash Ghai’s Kaanchi.
Insiders say Ekta finally paid heed to her well wishers, who reasoned that the films could eat into each other’s profit, and decided to give the two films enough space to reach out to their respective audiences.
Sources close to Balaji say, a representation was made from the makers and stake holders of Chennai Express to Jeetendra, requesting him to reconsider the release date in the interest of both the films.
The veteran actor spoke to the Balaji team to do the needful to avert the clash. “It made better sense to release the Akshay-Imran starrer on the next bank holiday, i.e. August 15,” said the source. However, at the time of going to press, this part of the development could not be verified.
The Eid clash of the two powerpacked films had been much anticipated by fans and the film fraternity.
“However, Chennai Express and OUATIM – Again belong to two different genres and there is enough and more room for two good films to work at the box office, even if they release on the same day,” said an industry insider on the condition of anonymity.”

If it’s really true, I think Ekta Kapoor took a very good decision putting her ego aside. Now both the movies have fair chance to break 1st day record of ETT. As 15 Aug also comes in a holiday period, so I don’t think OUATIMA would affect at all due to miss Eid period, infact it will open much better in case of solo release (even if 15 Aug lies on non-holiday period) than what it would be in case of clash on holiday. I really expected it to happen coz SRK n Akshay are considered as good friends, also SRK has very friendly relations with Jetendra, tushar etc. THe only hurdle was Ekta, I seriously hope she act like a pure businessmen keeping in mind the business perspectives and not taking her ego seriously.

    Taran confirmed this news:

    Xclusiv: #ChennaiExpress and #OUATIMA clash averted… #ChennaiExpress arrives on 8 Aug, #OUATIMA on 15 Aug.

  15. Bored 11 years ago

It depends how good the movies are, but date wise OUATIMA has an advantage now – if good, it can dent CE’s collections from second week, specially when both are massy films targeted at the same audience.

    Still in the Gossip stage

SRK In And As Alwyn Kalicharan?
by Box Office India (February 8, 2014)

Anurag Kahsyap’s ambitious project Alwyn Kalicharan had created quite a stir in the industry when the first look of the film was revealed a few years ago. The crime thriller, which was to be produced by Tutu Sharma, was announced with Anil Kapoor in the lead and the story was based on a futuristic theme, where the economy had crashed and no one works any more. Pleasure is the only business. People sleep through the day and come out to ‘work’ only at night. However, the film ground to a halt.

The latest buzz on the film is that this mega-budget project is on the verge of being revived and Kashyap has approached Shah Rukh Khan to play the title role. Also, now that Kashyap has started his own production house, Phantom Films will be backing the film.

Aah yes. Allwyn Kalicharan. Still remember the muhurat shown on TV back in 2003. It was going to go in full production with posters already done, but Anil Kapoor (the idiot that he is) got cold feet and backed away at the last moment. SRK doesn’t seem the right fit for this kind of dystopian noir-ish film. Looks like a miscast. Another reason (apart from excessive indulgence) why Kashyap is beginning to disappoint me. Still waiting for Ugly though. Looks good.
