    Tevar Opens To Average Response
    Friday 09 January 2015 13.30 IST
    Box Office India Trade Network

The first major release of the year Tevar opened to an average response as some places had a good to decent start while others were not so good. The overall opening was in the 30-35% range.

The opening was pretty good in Rajasthan and CI where the collections were in the 45-50% range but Delhi and Punjab were low at 20-25%. The film has a good release with around 3000 screens but the films fate will depend on growth on Saturday especially in the areas which have opened to low numbers like North. The best business should come in the Central belt and Mumbai circuit. Bihar will also put up a decent number.

The figures of PK are also down as it has had a very strong run till now and the competition of a major release was always likely to affect it but it should recover considerably tomorrow.

Tevar Fate Depending On Saturday Growth
    Friday 09 January 2015 23.30 IST
    Box Office India Trade Network

Tevar will be depending on Saturday growth as the first day will come in at around 7 crore nett. The film has managed average business in pockets like Rajasthan and CI but Delhi/UP and East Punjab are poor.

The opening day is looking to be a little better than Heropanti which was a similar film released last year but although that film was similar in genre the cost was much lower. It does make it tough when a mass film in order to succeed has to depend on growth but that seems to be order of day as outside the holiday releases, mass films are finding it hard to open well. Infact any film releasing outside holidays is truggling to open barring a couple of exceptions.

The film will be hoping to grow on Saturday especially in the North but even if growth comes its unlikely to go over 25 crore nett for the weekend.

    Tevar Is Flat On Saturday
    Sunday 12 January 2015 00.30 IST
    Box Office India Trade Network

Tevar has failed to show much growth on Saturday as collections are likely to come in the same range as the opening day. The film really needed to show growth to have a chance at the box office.

The film will be looking at a 13.50 crore nett total in two days and the weekend could go to around 22 crore nett which is not a good total as the film has taken for a big price especially for the face value it had. The producers have made good money as the film is not a big budget one but distributors will lose due a heavy price tag. On the budget of the film, a 22 crore nett weekend is not that bad.

The performance is okay in places like Rajasthan where it grossed 50 lakhs on day one and 42 lakhs on day two but a mass circuit like CP Berar has not performed at all. Mumbai has grossed 4.50 crore nett in two days with Gujarat / Saurashtra belt being average but rest dull. .

    Tevar First Weekend Business
    Monday 12 January 2015 11.00 IST
    Box Office India Trade Network

Tevar could not make much of an impact as it grossed around 21.25 crore nett in its first weekend. The first weekend collections are as follows.

    Friday – 6,80,00,000

    Saturday- 6,70,00,000

    Sunday – 7,75,00,000 (Early Estimate)

    Total – 21,25,00,000

The film managed an average start at some places but the trnding was not good as the film failed to grow on Saturday and the growth on Sunday was not what it should be.

    Tevar Monday Business
    Tuesday 13 January 2015 11.30 IST
    Box Office India Trade Network

Tevar had a low Monday as it collected around 3.50 crore nett. The film has grossed 25 crore nett in four days and is looking at a first week of around 32-33 crore nett. The first four days collections are as follows.

    Friday – 6,80,00,000

    Saturday- 6,70,00,000

    Sunday – 8,15,00,000

    Monday – 3,50,00,000 (early estimate)

    Total – 25,15,00,000

The drop is around 50% from Friday but the film has been helped by a tax free status in UP where collections have held up well due to this. The drop in Delhi/UP on Monday is around 30-35% compared to much bigger drop in the rest of the country.

    Tevar Has Low First Week
    Friday 16 January 2015 12.00 IST
    Box Office India Trade Network

Tevar grossed around 33.25 crore nett in its first week as it got a little help from the partial holidays in the weekdays. The best busienss has come in Delhi/UP where it has grossed around 7 crore nett as UP was tax free in the weekdays.

Overall the performance is poor as multiplexes did not collect well and single screens are also not as good as they should be for this type of mass. Single screens in UP have average figures for the first week but that is due to the film being tax free, they were low on Friday and Saturday.

There are no major releases this week but a few a films are releasing and that couple with a poor first week performance means a big drop of screen time and the film can’t expect to go much higher than the 40 crore nett mark for lifetime business.
