Excellent post.
He is the only actor who has seen so much pain, failure and success.
His real life is just like a movie and if somebody wants to make a movie there is no need to sign a story writer.
Yes his real life will make for a good movie.
He had the height, looks, physique (in early 90s) and the talent and he was the No 1 star during the early 90s post Saajan and Sadak. He ruined it all by getting involved in the TADA case.
Rajkumar Hirani confirms Sanjay Dutt biopic with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead
The recent times have seen an array of biopics being made on the celluloid, like Mary Kom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Paan Singh Tomar, Shahid, The Dirty Picture etc…to name a few. If there’s one person whose biopic features on everyone’s wish list, then, it has to be on none other than Bollywood’s favourite ‘baba’ Sanjay Dutt. It seems that all these prayers are soon going to be answered in the form of Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on Dutt, which will star Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.
After months of speculations, Raju Hirani has finally opened up to say that he is indeed making a biopic on Sanjay Dutt and that the film may go on floors before Sanjay Dutt is released from prison. Speaking about it, he said that he has received lots of inputs from Sanjay’s family, which includes his sisters Priya, Namrata, his brother-in-law Kumar Gaurav, and a very close friend Paresh, (who is based in US). He added that the idea of a biopic germinated in his mind when Sanjay was casually conversing about his life with him. The duo of Hirani and Dutt have decided that they won’t withhold any information from the cinegoers. They will be telling the story in a very aesthetic manner without hurting anybody’s sentiments. Like Rajkumar Hirani’s previous films, this film too (though untitled) will be written by Abhijat Joshi.
Hirani, who has earlier worked with Sanjay Dutt, said that it’s only a one tenth of Dutt’s life which the world knows. In the same breath he also added that, despite everything he has gone through, there is an honest child inside Sanjay Dutt.
Watch this space for more developments.

No doubt its a great topic . But Hirani has a soft spot for Sanjay .So he’ll end up glorifying Sanjay .
It doesn’t matter who makes the biopic. It will glorify Sanjay as Sanjay is one of Bollywood’s most loved celebs.
Raju Hirani has so far only made comedies with melodrama so I am not sure if he will able to make a serious biopic on Sanjay. And I don’t understand the choice of Ranbir Kapoor to play Sanjay. He does not resemble Sanjay at all neither face wise nor physique wise. Ranbir will never be able to have the physique that Sanjay had during Khal Nayak phase when he was arrested nor he will be able to be bulk up to be heavy/fat like Sanjay is now.
I think these biopics should be made when they have already died or at least retired. I know he is in jail right now but I am sure he will come out and do more movies. So his career isn’t over. There is a biopic on Dhoni coming out when he is still playing. Wait at least he retires.
hirani has gone mad. i dotn think sanjay deserves a biopic
Agree.
Great Post Sputnik.
Yeah I still remember the time period when Sanjay Dutt hit the Number 1 Spot after the success of SADAK and SAAJAN.
And indeed it was very unfortunate that after this he got involved in Tada case.
Thanks Ali. Aap to Eid Ka Chand ho gaye 😉 Please comment more often.
