I thought he was already married by the time QSQT released.
He was married yet he kept lying to magazine for long it seems. 😀 He had said he didn’t want to be trapped in an image but he was a lover boy for most of 90s till Earth and Sarfarosh happened. And even post Lagaan, his fans and media may say he is versatile or doesn’t have an image, but he has mostly played an iconoclast, rebel kind of guy and taken up issues (except DCH, Fanaa, Ghajini out of which only DCH is acclaimed and considered worthwhile whereas other two are just moneyspinners).
Thanks for putting this up. His style of giving interviews and choice of words has not changed much in all these years it seems.
Yes he was already married by the time QSQT released. According to wikipedia “Khan married Reena Dutta, who had a small part in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, on 18 April 1986.” So he was already married for two years when he gave this interview and yet he says he won’t tie the knot for some years to come 😉
What’s even more interesting is that he says he has integrity while he is being dishonest about his marriage.
in question of roles he wants to play, he gave a contrasting reply. he first said he wants to prove his versatility by doing different roles ( qsqt, raakh) and then he says ” i want to do roles that suit me” unless he believes he is good for any role 😉

Though I don’t agree with him completely here – innocence in love is not totally lost – maybe in few circles in metro cities.
