    Dhoom 3 worst ??? Lol u must be kidding….

    • Anjanpur685Miles 10 years ago

Dhoom3 teaser was bad and he has posted teaser here.

But to be honest Commondo trailer was more cheesy and laughable with him jumping out of car window and all.

What is there to kid in it! it was a pathetic teaser with decade old lame stunts that too with poor wirework and ultra slo mo CGI.

A stunt becomes laughable and poor when it is done using cheap wirework and CGI tricks and aweful body language. Vidyut is almost 6 feet and he cleanly jumped through a car window without the aid of cheap camera tricks and CGI.

I think he’s kidding, the scene where Aamir was running vertically downward from the building was a classic one. ๐Ÿ˜›

      • Ipman 10 years ago

LOL. his feet hardly touched the building walls ๐Ÿ˜€ but the best part in it were aamirs priceless expressions ๐Ÿ˜›

I liked Dabangg, Raavan, Stanley ka Dabba and Dhobi Ghat trailers the most in last few years.

Last year it was Ghanchakkar. Madras cafe as a film was good but trailer was having hollywood hangover.

    Best Trailers
    Lootera
Best trailer of 2013 and one of the worst movies of the year.
    Agneepath
Best trailer of 2011 and decent flick with standout performance by Rishi Kapoor.
    Waar
Best trailer of 2013 and probably one of the best Pakistani movies ever made.
    My Name Is Khan
The best trailer and the best movie of 2010 with a brilliant act by the lead actor.

    Worst Trailers
    OUATIMD and Himmatwala
The trailer and movie both were equally bad.
    Jai Ho
The movie exceeds the expectations what the trailer promised it to be. The trailer was worst of the year and movie is amongst the all time worst.
Satya 2 & Gori Tere Pyaar Main
Ram Gopal Verma and Imran Khan, dono ka naam hi kaafi hai. The trailers of both the movies were torture then what to expect from the movies, and expectedly the movies didn’t disappoint a bit, those were maha-torturous.

agreed on outimd trailer, it was terrible i remember. GTPM too. I didnt like matru ki bijlee promo too but it was better than gtpm

Don 2 trailer is the best Iยดve seen in Hindi cinema .It was breathtaking .

  5. Rafsan Cr 10 years ago

Also there were so many teasers of Ra.one .One of them was great . Liked Dabangg trailer a lot.

Is it Theatrical Trailers or Teasers?

Agneepath, Madras Cafe and Special 26 Trailers were good. Did not like Rockstar one – only the Sadda Haq portions were good. Commando – the action scenes shown were good but Pooja Chopra scenes were bad.

Jai Ho, Dhoom 3, Singh Saab were bad. Agree that Himmatwala was the worst. While their idea of doing Salesman like ads for Rocket Singh was good it did not work out. The Teaser just did not give a fair representation of what the movie was.

Dabangg and Don 2 were two of the best in the last 5 years.

    • Ipman 10 years ago

“Is it Theatrical Trailers or Teasers?” you can take either of them.

I liked rockstar trailer. It started like a regular rom com and then suddenly changed gears with sadda haq. The song snippets in the promo sounded very promising.

Dabang trailer was liked a lot when it released but i was one of the few who didnt like it. It was too spoofy and non serious for me.

Don 2 trailer is decent minus the srk mannerisms. Comparable to Blue trailer

    • Anjanpur685Miles 10 years ago

      Agree about Don2.

And earlier I was going to write about Blue – glad that Baba mentioned it too.

I loved the Blue song trailer very much and is an all time fav.

There are two times to judge a film trailer – before release, when the trailer is intended for, and after release, when you can compare what the movie delivered vis a vis what the trailer promised.

I feel it is fair to consider the first approach for the sake of critiquing a trailer, since its purpose is to excite the audience, say what the film.is about in brief and make you feel like you want to spend money to see the movie.

From the list, agree about Rockstar and Agneepath. Both had pretty good trailers. Found the “its all about revenge” line in Agneepath trailer very cheesy and unimaginative though. The trailer of Commando offers nothing new except Vidyut and his electrifying stunts. Special 26 and Madras Cafe trailers were good too, even though the “life mein na BC, kabhi kisise darna mat” line and the shot of akshay dancing at a ceremony were put in unnecessarily to make it audience friendly for a certain section.

I am surprised to find Rocket Singh among the worst trailers. It probably the best way to showcase the film, but it was a pretty imaginative trailer. They gave a glimpse of the story and showed what the protagonist’s character was like. Doesn’t deserve to be on a list of worst trailers. While Dhoom 3 trailer was bad in terms of vfx, it did do its job well – made the audience feel excited about the product. That the product turned out to be bad is a different story.
Trailers of movies like Besharam, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and OUATIM duba re were some of the worst trailers in recent times. Boss had a bad trailer. Same with khiladi 786.
Don 2 had an excellent trailer – another example of great trailer, bad film. Ek Tha Tiger had a good trailer. Dabangg had a fantastic trailer. So did Kaminey. Barfi had a superb trailer too.

I dont agree on RS trailer. The dialgues in the promo are poor. He just keeps on repeating “hum bech rahe hain, aap khareed rahe hain” and that stupid dance in the last 5 secs. Its very offputting. I would have preferred snippets of scenes where he sees he scored 35% , his first interview etc. That would have built the expectations right. Some weeks ago, sputnik had posted an interview of jaideep the writer of RS. He said ppl just ddint come to watch the film when it released, They saw it after 1-2 years and came back to him and said you made a great film!

      • shan 10 years ago

Yeah, it probably wasn’t the best way to showcase the film, but was innovative. Agree the trailer you suggested would have been more impactful.

  8. Ipman 10 years ago

Shimit Amin is the worst when it comes to cutting an ad for the film. He made a mess out of CDI promotion. It looked like a bad film from the trailers. same for RS. It took me 2 years to watch RS finally. it is also bcos of the poor promos.

Here are few more promos i hated:

  9. Sanket Porwal 10 years ago

Bests: ZNMD promo, D3 promo, Cocktail promo, Love Aaj Kal promo, Action replay, Rajkumar

    Worsts: ready, bodyguard, dabangg2, Rnbdj

    • Anjanpur685Miles 10 years ago

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi – worst promo?

I think you are from outer space or a man with no patience or sensibilities and live always in FB/Twitter kind of world. Huh!!

    • shan 10 years ago

Agree on znmd, love aaj kal.

  10. Sanket Porwal 10 years ago

    Add Krrish3 to worsts list.

  11. Rafsan Cr 10 years ago

Agree with Sanket .K3 trailer was pathetic.

  12. DABANGG_NIINJA 10 years ago

    best teaser -ETT
    best trailer-dabangg
    worst trailer- RA1 ready himtwala

  13. DABANGG_NIINJA 10 years ago

    @Baba
    Good Post Regarding Best Trailers

    Best Trailers
    1. Agneepath
    2. Special 26
    3. Madras Cafe

Commando fist half trailer is good.

Rockstar I can give benefit of doubt.

    • Ipman 10 years ago

Thanks. Nowhere are any of these promos related to the BO outcome of those films. I chose them based on how they were edited and how well they conveyed its story.for example s26 promo did not help to generate buzz even though it was a good promo.
