Best Entry Scenes of Actors in Bollywood

In movies specially masala movies the entry scene is very important. So here are some of the Best Entry Scenes of Actors in Bollywood. Post your favorites.

I had seen a few pictures of Ajay Devgn (then Ajay Devgan) in a newspaper before the release of Phool Aur Kaante and I did not like him at all. It had hit songs which used to come regularly on Chitrahaar but I used to hate him and Madhoo in those songs. And even though the movie was doing well I decided not to watch the movie. Then my cousin watched the movie and he narrated Ajay’s entry scene to me and I got curious. So on the 91st day of its release I watched Phool Aur Kaante. And the scene where Ajay makes his entry standing on two bikes and making a full split changed my views towards him completely. I liked Ajay’s acting and also liked the movie back then.

And when it comes to entry scenes in Bollywood there can be no one better than Amitabh and he probably has the most number of dashing entry scenes in Bollywood and so are a lot of scenes in this post 🙂 Here is one of the coolest entry scenes in Bollywood from Don. Amitabh is excellent as the cool Don and the background score is excellent.

Here is Rajesh Khanna’s entry scene from Anand where he makes his talkative entry with that jubilant background music. He talks about Lymphosarcoma of the Intestine as something great to have and the scene ends on a poignant note when he tells Amitabh that he knows what it is.

Here is Amitabh’s entry scene from Trishul with him walking nonchalantly after lighting a dynamite when everyone around him is running away in fear.

Here is Shah Rukh Khan’s entry scene from Darr. He is walking with his eyes closed on the edge of a building. His entry scene effectively captures the mentally disturbed nature of his character.

And here is this excellent scene from Satta Pe Satta which has no dialogues but just Amitabh’s evil look and the background music. Had posted as Scene of the Week before. Link

Here is Sunny Deol’s entry scene from Damini where a drunk Sunny rescues Meenakshi. There are almost no dialogues from Sunny when dealing with the goons.

Here is Salman Khan’s entry scene from Dabanng. The comic undertones and Salman’s crazy antics set the tone for the rest of the movie. Had posted scenes from Dabangg in Scene of the Week before. Link

Here is Amitabh’s heroic entry from Hum trying to rescue his friend. He literally fights all the goons single handedly.

And here is Aamir Khan’s entry scene from Rangeela with him dressed up in colorful clothes as a Tapori showing his smartass nature and street smartness.

Here is Amjad Khan aka Gabbar Singh’s entry scene from Sholay as a spine-chilling villain.

Here is Sanjay Dutt’s entry scene from Agneepath. It hypes up his character as menacing and pyschologically disturbed but it did not live up to the expectations.

Here is Hrithik Roshan’s entry scene from Krrish 3. Even though it has some cheesy scenes of the passengers and the pilots its a good entry scene for its genre.

Great choices. I like these entries. dont remember anything great about darr, dabang , rangeela entries. I think you added the khans to get more hits 😀

    I will include these entries:

ha ha. I don’t think Hrithik’s entry scene in Agneepath was anything great. I thought of posting his Krrish 3 superhero entry scene but could not find the video. I thought I would post his Krrish entry scene instead but you would have complained of use of cables 🙂

I don’t think that Commando scene was his entry scene.

I left out the actresses for another post 🙂

both hrithik and sanjay entry in ap is good but the bgm of hr entry is better.the scene shows dahi handi which is the most popular festival of mumbai. you could have posted any of the two instead of the khan scenes. I liked this one as well

commando scene is proper extended entry with dialgues and fight. the first one just has flashes of him when the major is talking about vidyut.

        i know you are a sexist 😉

Updated the post and added Sanjay Dutt’s entry scene from Agneepath. I mistakenly thought another scene where he is drunk was his entry scene.

But weren’t his Chinese Interrogation scenes and escape his entry scenes in Commando?

I was being very technical with the entry scene and I had to leave an extended entry scene from another movie because it had a scene leading upto it. Will post in Scene of the Week.

Good post Sputnik. Some good choices, although I dont agree with some.

I find Ajay Devgan’s entry in Phool Aur Kaante overhyped and bad. He looks like a girl in it. I know the split is supposed to be epic and novel for its time but I find the entire scene laughable, especially with Ajay’s superficial expressions and the fake reactions by the girls.

Dont think much of SRK’s entry in Darr. It was good and in the vein of the movie but nothing great. Same with Aamir’s in Rangeela. Again, good scene, but nothing great! Salman’s entry in Dabangg was better than the one listed here in Dabangg 2. It was more spontaneous and did not feel repititive. Espcially, love the part “Aur kisiko chahiye promosan?” 🙂

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_ZhYJvHbxw

Amitabh is the king of entry scenes. He has a number of epic entries and I believe he was the one who made entries macho and paisa vasool. Hrithik’s Agneepath entry is so-so. Nothing great. Rajesh Khanna’s entry in Anand is fantastic. Nothing bombastic but sheer great acting and good direction. 🙂 Sunny Deol’s entry scene in Damini is fantastic too. Raw power of Sunny plus his inimitable dialogue delivery makes it epic!

Ah I meant to post Dabangg’s entry scene and posted Dabangg 2’s entry scene by mistake. Can’t help when Dabangg 2 was so similar to Dabangg 🙂 Updated the post with the Salman’s entry scene from Dabangg.

” Ajay makes his entry standing on two bikes and making a full split changed my views towards him completely. ”

so ajay needed to “spread his legs” to impress sputnik 😛

      • shan 10 years ago

LOL! The scene where Ajay is air-kissing seems like he is spitting out chewing gum from his mouth and throwing it towards the audience. Even that he-man, both arms up showing muscles pose is so funny 😀

          sputnik 10 years ago

Ajay does not have the looks so that girls reactions would obviously appear fake and the scene setup is also not good but what he did on those bikes is commendable.

People were going gaga over Van Damne’s full split on those trucks but I think this is better than that even though it does not have those high production values and good cinematography.

          • Ipman 10 years ago

the full split that he did in jigar was even more difficult compared to the bike one.in jigar, he did the split on two rolling drums without apparently any support.Though the background in that scene is dark. May be he was held by a rope on the back which could not be seen in the front view.

If you investigate a bit, i think ajay has crooked leg when he fully rests in the full split position on the bike. The hint is when he completes the full split, the side view is hardly shown. I dont think his legs are fully 180 degree. But nonetheless its a great entry scene

Van damme scene is good. Not difficult as he was held by wires but it was good for his age and the ad looked good on screen and a good bgm

LOL You completely changed the meaning of that sentence 🙂

any takers for this entry scene ? 😛

LOL You posted a German dubbed version.

I can use that scene when I make a post on Cheesiest Entry Scenes of Bollywood 🙂

      • Ipman 10 years ago

I like the bgm in that scene though. A good bgm can elevate an entry scene but the cheesiness of the video can ruin it too

    • alfa.one 10 years ago

Yes I feel this is the best for SRK.

  4. Ipman 10 years ago

This isnt an entry scene but i like the style and song

Very good post Sputnik. I liked most of the videos you posted.

Amitabh has always been master in this area. No one can come close as far as number of dashing entry scenes are concerned. His horse voice with heavy background music adds the excitement.

I regard Amjad Khan’s Gabbar Singh entry as the most popular and historic entry scene. Till date there has never been an entry scene like this where the actor with his sheer dialogues and body language could create an excitement to such a high level.

In cinemas, I do not think I have seen a craze for an actor like an entry scene of SRK in Dil Toh Pagal Hai. When everybody is searching for him on the stage performance during “Le Gayi” song and then suddenly he pops out and joins the performance, it was like crazy scene in the theater. The song and the tremendous music beats added the flavor.

  7. alfa.one 10 years ago

Good one @sputnik !!! All the videos u posted are nice.

For me the best entry scene is Amjad Khan as Gabbar singh and next from KKKG of SRK.

  8. aryan 10 years ago

Good post Sputnik liked all the scenes Three scenes is my personal favorite.
    1. Amjad Khan in Sholay.
    2. Amitabh in Don
    3. Salman in Dabangg.

  9. Manish Kumar 10 years ago

I dont find anything special in Rangeela entry….. rest alll entry scenes are superb … Gabbar entry , Anand Rajesh khanna entry n Amitabh Hum entry being my favourites

      Thanks @manish

Rakta Charitra and Tashan entry scenes are good. I did not post MSK entry scene as it was usual David Dhawan style comedy scene.

Yeah after Amitabh, Sanjay had good style when it came to entry scenes. I left out one of his scenes because it was technically not a entry scene as there were a couple of scenes before it. Will post it as Scene of the Week.

  10. Manish Kumar 10 years ago

Yes damini scene i missed , it was awesome as well sunny paaji ki entry faad thi

  11. Manish Kumar 10 years ago

I like this entry scene of Vivek Oberoi in RC (BG n Lyrics makes it look very good )

  12. Manish Kumar 10 years ago

I like this Akki entry in MSK

      sputnik 10 years ago

Don’t like that one at all. Amitabh pretending to listen to a eagle come on. Amitabh’s leap scene while running towards train is good but that’s not tecnically the entry scene.

  17. FS 10 years ago

Good Post Sputnik. Liked few very much and others are good too. I liked Salman Khan’s Wanted entry scene more than Dabangg’s which set the tone for his other action films.

Thanks. I had seen Pokiri first so I liked that one more. I liked Dabanng one more because of the funny undertones to it. Actually both Wanted and Dabangg entry scenes are inspired or tribute to Amitabh’s warehouse scene from Deewar. I did not post this scene as its technically not an entry scene.

I like Subtle but stylish entry of Dev Anand from Johny mera naam
Like the dialogue pulis walon ki na dosti acchi hoti hai na dushmani..

    Watch from 3:50

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=302vRVP-LJQ

And in Jewel Thief (at around 4:30) – the background music and if you see this right from titles then its effective – right till when he enters the Jeweller’s office and the way he leaves saying “laut aaunga” and the way beats of song Ye dil na hoga song start right after he steps out.

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=xwFb4ZfqN7U

Raj Kapoor’s entry in Awara. Yes – its traditional / typical bollywood – but its one of those good old melodramatic entries which was copied a lot in 70s and 80s in Mithun/Amitabh type films..(watch from 0:42:00 to around 0:46:00)
When young Shashi Kapoor starts laughing in the Jail…the sequence ends with the song again like in Jewel Thief. One of the landmark entries of that era which influenced many films after that.

    (no embed code available)

Aamir’s entry in Lagaan is one of the best in Hindi Cinema(from 2:20 onwards)

PS: I did not find Dilip Kumar’s Kohinoor entry online. (“yeh paanch dus ruapiyye ka saokaar kaun hai be..” )
Of last decade films I liked Pankaj Kapoor’s entry as Abbaji in Maqbool and Ajay’s entry in Omkara.
I dont remember if Pankaj Kapoor had a dramatic entry in Halla Bol but he had many dramatic scenes which were fantastic. But then so did Birju of Mother India – had many fantastic dramatic scenes with Lalaji – but entry was in a song..

Liked the Dev Anand ones. Agree with everything you said about those two scenes. Did not like the Awaara one much.

Never liked that scene from Lagaan even though I think its one of the best movies ever. I know they wanted to show the difference between him and Russell with that scene but I don’t think it belonged in this movie.

I tried to mix some of the regular entry scenes with some character/plot driven ones.

Did not know that Halla Bol was inspired by Safdar Hashmi who was killed by Congress goons.

Dilip Kumar’s entry in M-E-A, Shahrukh in Darr, K3G & Don 2. Amitabh Bachchan in Agneepath.

  20. Anjanpur685Miles 10 years ago

Lagaan entry is special because it does not fall in trap of usual heroics / styles / mannerisms etc yet it conveys about the Hero’s character in a very effective way and still is dramatic.

  21. Anjanpur685Miles 10 years ago

btw Sputnik, some interesting choices in your post. I had not seen Trishul.

While I am a big fan of Amitabh I do not agree that he is the best in entry scenes. Thats like ignoring all the other aspects of filmmaking if you are in love with his height and voice and persona.

I had already mentioned number of times earlier and recently too about one of my most fav entry – Nana’s in Thodasa Rumani..and I prefer it over Anand 🙂

  22. mate 10 years ago

All the scenes of Ajay Devgan where he walk towards the audience while bending his neck on one side & all the scenes of Aamir Khan where he is chasing someone and after that his fast breathing looks very natural (Baazi, Sarfarosh & Lagaan etc.) I don’t know whether any scene amongst them comes as an opening sequence or not, but there are several such scenes so there must be a scene that’s an entry scene, I think those Baazi & Lagaan scenes were in the beginning, these are one of the best opening sequences just for his natural breathing. I think it comes naturally to him so having more impact, taange (legs) bhi toh choti choti hai na, 10 kadam chalne se toh saans chadh jati hai bechare ko. 🙂

    • Anjanpur685Miles 10 years ago

Were you trying to be funny? Agree about Aamir and Ajay – good observation indeed. (about their mannerisms i.e. – if I cut all the hatred crap which you usually post)

But Lagaan scene goes much beyond that in other aspects of filmmaking and character development. And its unusually heroic in a way.
