Watch the Jackie Chan Interview starting from 31 min . Its really nice. He praises 3 Idiots and is surprised when Anupama replies that her husband produced it. Liked the part where he said that he could tell it to his grandchildren and his fans “Thats me. Thats not the double”.
Thanks for posting the Jackie Chan interview spuntik. Great one.He is absolutely right that it is so easy to be batman or spiderman but so difficult to be ‘a ‘Jackie Chan”. 😀
Yes audience will always expect him to do the real stuff so its better for him if he avoids action films instead of depending on vfx and harness.
In one of his interviews,Jackie had said that he sees Tony Jaa carrying the legacy of Bruce lee and him forward and called him the best action hero right now.
He even agreed to do a special apperance in his film Tom Yum Goong

Baba, thats a dupicate, not Jackie Chan… lol someone got you this time. !!!
Ha Ha.
“Ab aaya Woot Pahadh Ke Neeche” 😉
Here is the Jackie Chan part for those who dont want to watch the whole video or are too lazy to forward it to the Jackie part.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=B-6e_kK1NP4
LOL ! had read somwhere that he played guest appearance but he quite looks like him.and his fondness for tony jaa made it more obvious that he might just have.
Sputnik,
Thanks for posting this video..the Jackie chan part was simply awesome..I actually laughed when he said, “bollywood makes greta music videos” hahahahah
Baba,
True, there can be only one jackie chan
hopefully our old 45+ heroes will also take cue from jackie chan and leave action films to younger actors.
Baba,
Nobody cares whether a body double does the action scene or the star in Bollywood. Do you want the old 45+ stars to do romantic movies? 😉
they can do films other than action films.there are so many genres. In action films,if you dont do the action yourself, then what is point of doing it?
Thing is heroes especially old ones think its cool to be an action hero.So they will star in them even if unfit for the enterprise. (Salman in ETT,aamir in dhoom 3,srk in ra1).Teens,youngsters,adults sort of idolise and look upto tough action stars.Who likes to be fan of a poet or a majnu? certainly not men.
“Who likes to be fan of a poet or a majnu? certainly not men.”
lool… hahahha…. but you know Baba, srk fans (men) of 90s would disagree…you can ask Milind ❗
Ha Ha.
Kids, teenagers and Kidults (men who still are kids) idolize action heroes. Grown up men don’t 😉
Men like drama and thrillers. They like romantic movies but not the cheesy, chick flick type movies.
Men are fans of poetry and majnu provided they have a heartbreak.
I saw this tweet and its somewhat related and I think its true.
“When you’re happy, you enjoy the music. But when you’re sad, you understand the lyrics. “
no spuntik, even adult men prefer action films to any other genre.they may not be idolizing the stars which is a different case.
yes senior citizens like yourself prefer watching suspense thrillers etc.Even CID suffices your age group! 😀
suprabh
srk fans are a different breed.you have read my post on srks cultural significance .I have talked about them over there. 😆
Baba Ji,
“no spuntik, even adult men prefer action films to any other genre.they may not be idolizing the stars which is a different case.”
Adults prefer action backed with good story and/or performances not just action like kids and teenagers. Even Jackie Chan wants to be like Robert De Niro 😉
“yes senior citizens like yourself prefer watching suspense thrillers etc.Even CID suffices your age group!”
Ha Ha. Have never watched a CID episode in full. Have seen only bits and it is ridiculous.
Doing action films is considered a cool thing.doesnt matter if you disagree ,its a fact. There is no reason for prestige actor like aamir to do a dhoom kind of film.but he will do it bcos thats what cool. But it is also true that not all action films are good.I dislike the OTT and kiddish action where hero will punch and the villian goes flying in the air.I am an admirer of realistic action.it should be believable. Also IMO an action film should have only action. The story if any, should be only an excuse to show us more and more of action. No one goes to watch a jism 2 for seeing sunny leone’s acting or what the story is about.
Aamir isn’t doing Dhoom because its cool. He is doing it because it is an easy way to get a big hit – same reason why he did Ghajini and Fanaa.
Basic Instinct has plot and performances too – if it did not have a plot and performances it would have been the English equivalent of Jism 2. There is always porn for no plot and just sex scenes.
He is already doing PK for getting the BB .He could have done a film like talaash again. But who will reject an opportunity to play villain in dhoom?
BI was bashed for its story and performances. It got three razzie nominations. It got oscar nomination for only music. No, Jism 2 is not BI even without story.silly lovemaking and sex scenes is different thing.Porn is no doubt the best 😀
He signed Dhoom 3 first – right after DG released. He signed PK much later. Even if he had signed PK first he probably would have signed Dhoom 3 because it will get him another easy blockbuster – Ek Se Bhale Do.
I liked BI and the performances. It was nominated for 2 Oscars – Best Music and Best Editing. Anyway movies like that won’t win any Oscars.
Anyways Razzie Awards or their Indian counterparts usually award/nominate a movie/star just to get more popular.
he made ghajini not because he wanted to make an intelligent film like memento but because he ddint want to stay behind in the race for the “six-pack” abs fad.srk had gained lot of popularity in dard-e-disco for it.
There is no clear reason why he did fanaa.romantic films has never been his strength.May be to get into the good books of yrf back.MP was distributed by yrf.
Off topic (and I remembered this, because of the mention of CID above)
I saw this hindi movie called “?” (Question mark)..Its a small horror film (on the lines of Blair Witch Project).. there is a scene in this movie, where two guys are trying to push open a door and it wont open…
the guy standing behind them says, “oh kya hua ? darwaaza nahi khul raha ? Lagta hai DAYA ko bulana padega”
ROTFLMAO ..hahahahaha 😀
